HENDERSON - Tyler McQuinn, infant, died at 10:16 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004, at Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville. He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents, Herman and Emma McQuinn; his great-grandparents, Russell and Artie Crowe; and his foster great-grandmother, Eileen Chinn.

Survivors include his parents, Brandon and Heather McQuinn of Henderson; his paternal grandparents, Billy and Arlene McQuinn of Henderson; his maternal grandparents, Steve and Rhonda Lucas of Henderson; his maternal great-grandparents, Bob and Mary Lou Roller, Barbara Lucas and Max Lucas, all of Coshocton, Ohio; an aunt, Jennifer Lucas; two uncles, Jason Lucas and Jonathan McQuinn, both of Henderson; and a foster great-grandfather, Ray Quinn of Hartford.

Funeral services for Tyler McQuinn will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 24, at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home in Henderson. The Rev. Todd Linn will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Kosair Children's Hospital.

Norma Jean King

CLOVERPORT - Norma Jean King, 73, of Cloverport died Monday, June 21, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in Union Star on Sept. 24, 1930, a daughter of the late Otis Severs and Velma Bruner Severs. She was a member of Cloverport Baptist Church and Cloverport Homemakers. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shelia King, on April 22, 1979.

Survivors include her husband, Millard King of Cloverport; four sons, Millard Donald King, Richard Ray King and Kenneth D. King, all of Cloverport, and Rodney Otis King of Charlotte, N.C.; three daughters, Linda Brown of Payneville, Carolyn Bratcher of Lewisport and Barbara Gail Leathem of Owensboro; and a sister, Minnie L. Curry of Lewisport; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services are at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 24, at Wallace Funeral Home in Cloverport. Burial will be in Cloverport cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today, June 23, and after 8 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Alton Lawhorn and the Rev. Jeff Maysey will officiate.

Martine Stewart Everley

BEAVER DAM - Martine Stewart Everley, 80, of Port Orange, Fla., formerly of Beaver Dam, died Tuesday, June 22, 2004, in Port Orange. She was born in Echols and was a homemaker and member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and three sisters.

Survivors include her husband, Russell Truman Everley; three daughters, Rita Rowe of Port Orange, Treva Mitchell of Birmingham, Ala., and Tammy E. Canapp of DeBary, Fla.; a sister, Juanita Boyd of Madisonville; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 26, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial will be in Sunnyside cemetery in Beaver Dam. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Betty Piper

BELTON - Betty Piper, 59, of Belton died Saturday, June 26, 2004, at her home. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Piper; three sons, Franklin Gene Brown, Charles Piper III and Frankie Wayne Piper; five daughters, Kathy Darlene Robertson, Samantha Sue Robinson, Jennifer Suzanne Johnson, Terrie Lynn Garrett and Felicia Kay Piper; and six sisters, Jennie Lee Brewer, Ella Johnson, Barbara Russ, Judy Fraze, Oza Nannie and Anne Hamby.

Services: 1 p.m. Monday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial: Rose Hill cemetery in Central City. Visitation: After 5:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lloyd C. Bell Jr.

MONTGOMERY, Texas - Lloyd C. Bell Jr., 80, of 13521 Raintree Drive, Montgomery, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2004. He was born in Owensboro to Lloyd C. Bell Sr. and Mattie Dean Bell. He attended the Presbyterian church and graduated from Owensboro High School in 1943. He was seriously wounded in World War II while in Italy, graduated from Transylvania College with a chemist degree and was a Kentucky Colonel.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Marjorie; a son, David and his wife Nora of Magnolia, Texas, and a son, Bruce of Laramie, Wyo., a daughter, Teryl and her husband Mark Pierce of Grape Vine, Texas; a sister, Anna Sue Johnson of Owensboro; and several nephews and nieces.

Private burial services will be held in the National Conroe (Texas) cemetery.

Terry Joe Faught

Terry Joe Faught, 56, of Philpot began enjoying eternal fellowship with the Lord on Thursday, June 24, 2004. He was born in Dayton, Ohio, on Jan. 16, 1948, to Ray and Mildred Young Faught Jr. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He was a master plumber and pipefitter and was a member of the United Association of Plumbers & Pipefitters Union Local #633 and had been the owner of the Kitchen Physician. He attended Good Shepherd Church and had also attended Owensboro Covenant Church and the Lighthouse Christian Fellowship.

He was loved and will be fondly remembered by his wife, Rhonda E. Taylor; three daughters, Angie and her husband Kevin Cecil of Owensboro, Alexandra and her husband Airman Andrew Evans (U.S. Navy) of Virginia Beach, Va., and Laura Ann Brooke Faught at home in Philpot; a son, Martin Ray "Mark" Faught of Whitesville; two nephews and a niece whom he raised, Josh Travis and his wife Amber Taylor of Owensboro, Lcpl. Leo Taylor of Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, and Amanda Taylor of Philpot; three grandchildren, Shea, Katie and Jackson Cecil of Owensboro; a brother, Jerry B. Faught of Centertown; his parents, Ray and Mildred Faught of Centertown; other nieces and a nephew, Lois and her husband, Jamie Ceron of Centertown, Jessica Taylor of Caneyville and Lenny Faught of Centertown; two great-nephews and a niece, Jalen and Arianna Taylor of Owensboro and Jesse Ceron of Centertown. Also surviving is an aunt, Marcy Fulkerson of Ohio County; and an uncle, Charles Tagge of Hampton, Va.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2004, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Smallhouse Baptist Church cemetery in Ohio County. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday and after noon Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Laura Ann Brooke Faught Educational Fund, c/o BB&T, 230 Frederica St., Owensboro, KY 42301.

Clara Irene Conner

Clara Irene Conner, 79, of 6060 Highway 1389, Owensboro, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in Indiana and was a homemaker, was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed crocheting.

Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Charles L. Conner; a son and his wife, Richard and Wanda Turner of Cadiz; a daughter and her husband, Betty and Willie Howard of Holly Ridge, N.C.; a sister, Christine Turner of Robinson, Ill.; four grandchildren, including Janet L. James of Owensboro; and a great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, June 28, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 333 Guthrie St., Suite 207, Louisville, KY 40202.

Leonard R. Evans

CENTRAL CITY - Leonard R. Evans, 45, of Central City died Saturday, June 26, 2004, at his home. He was a truck driver and a member of Trinity Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Louise and Otto Motler; a stepson, Larry Foster; two stepdaughters, Kelly Peay and Ashley Moore; a sister, Joyce Raden; and a half brother, Michael Hogue.

Services: 10 a.m. Monday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial: Fairmount cemetery in Central City. Visitation: After 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Sharon Bland McGary

Sharon Bland McGary, 59, of 4373 Highway 142, Owensboro, died Friday, June 25, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born Oct. 20, 1944, to the late Tilford and Louise Matthews Bland in Breckinridge County. She was a homemaker and an active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening and arranging flowers, especially for the church. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jan Dailey, in 1996.

Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Albert "Al" McGary of Owensboro; three sons, Ken McGary of Owensboro, Matt and his wife Tracy McGary of Philpot and David and his wife Yvonne McGary of Philpot; one daughter, Cheryl McGary of Nashville; two grandsons, Austin and Andy McGary; two brothers, Louis Bland of Cloverport and Paul Bland of Owensboro; and one sister, Dolores Mattingly of Hardinsburg.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 28, 2004, at St. Pius X Catholic Church with burial in Resurrection cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today and after 8:30 a.m. Monday. Prayers will be said at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 319 W. 10th St., Owensboro, KY 42301 or St. Pius X Catholic Church Building Fund, 3512 E. Sixth St., Owensboro, KY 42303.

James 'Buddy' Stewart

BREMEN - James "Buddy" Stewart, 67, of Bremen died Friday, June 25, 2004, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. He retired from ICC Railroad and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia "Granny" Stewart; three sons, Roger Stewart, Ronnie Stewart and Donnie Stewart; two brothers, Cletus Stewart and Clyde Stewart; and a sister, Vernel Higgins.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial: Mount Pisgah cemetery. Visitation: From 2 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Althea Virginia Chalfa

DALE, Ind. - Althea Virginia Chalfa, 78, of Dale died April 6, 2004, at Professional Care Rehabilitation Center in Dale.

Survivors include a son, Robert Burchette; a daughter, Patricia Lynne Gray; and a brother, Gerald Vincent Smith.

Fuller Funeral Home and Crematory in Dale was in charge of arrangements.
