Fred Bruno, 62, of Owensboro died Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. Born Feb. 7, 1942, in Carterville, Ill., he was the son of the late Homer Coleman and Rose Bruno. Mr. Bruno was an electrician.

He is survived by a daughter, Sunnie Joseph of Palmdale, Calif.; and grandchildren.

Funeral services are private with Glenn Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

CENTRAL CITY - J.T. Millard, 86, of Central City died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. He was a retired steel worker, a member of First Baptist Church and a World War II veteran.

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Susan Smiley.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial: Rose Hill cemetery in Central City. Visitation: After 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mae Kathryn Whittington

Mae Kathryn Whittington, 78, of 5329 Jones Road, Owensboro, formerly of Calhoun, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. Mae Kathryn was born Jan. 25, 1926, in McLean County to the late Rollie and Pauline Blackford. She was a 1944 graduate of the former Calhoun High School, a graduate of the University of Kentucky and received her master's degree from Western Kentucky University. She was married to E.G. Whittington in June 1952 until his death on June 23, 1990. Mrs. Whittington was a retired teacher from McLean County Board of Education, having taught at both the Calhoun and Livermore schools and was the owner of Wooly Lamb Crafts. Mae Kathryn was a member of Calhoun Baptist Church and Owensboro Herb Society. She was a juried participant in the Kentucky Craft Marketing Program and was a recognized member of the local artist community as a weaver, spinner and a basket weaver. She also enjoyed sharing with the community the joy and art of Old World crafts and was an annual exhibitor at Reid's Apple Festival.

Survivors include a daughter, Kay Evans of Owensboro; a grandson, Nathaniel Evans of Owensboro; and a brother, Louis Blackford of Calhoun.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Calhoun cemetery with Dr. Glen Sowards officiating. Friends may visit with the Whittington family from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. A video tribute of Mrs. Mae Kathryn Whittington's life will be presented at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Musters in Calhoun.

The Whittington family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Kentucky Baptist Homes for Children or Calhoun Elementary School Library. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.

Ernest 'Ernie' Robert Blair

Ernest "Ernie" Robert Blair, 79, of Owensboro, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. Ernest was born May 13, 1925, in Daviess County and lived in Owensboro and Rockport, Ind., except for the four years and 10 months he was enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He was a World War II veteran and served aboard the USS Card and later the USS Intrepid. He was of the Catholic faith. He retired after 35 years of employment as a truck driver for A&H Truck Lines and was a member of Teamsters Local No. 215. He enjoyed cards, fishing, boating, gardening, watching and listening to his sons play music and being with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Thomas and Sophia Allen Blair; two brothers, James Blair and Franklin D. Blair; and two sisters, Catherine Marie Savage and Vinnie Spence.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret Hallie Merritt Blair, married on April 3, 1948; nine sons, Doug Blair, Bill Blair and wife Janie, and Scott Blair and wife Shirley, all of Owensboro, Jewell Ray Blair and Mirtie of Hartford, Donnie Blair and wife Gaye of Central City, Roy Lee Blair and wife Marlene of Masonville, Richard Blair and Gary McBride of Utica, Tommy Blair and wife Donna, Larry Blair and wife Bertha, all of Rockport; four daughters, Wanda Blair Logan and husband Jim of Kokomo, Ind., Janice Blair Shouse, Rhonda Blair Emmick and husband Kevin, all of Owensboro, and Ann Blair Wheatley and husband Eugene Jr. of Newtonville, Ind.; a brother, Oscar Ray Blair of Deanfield; 31 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services are at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 19, at James H. Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Owensboro. Burial is in Pleasant Grove cemetery in Sorgho with military honors. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home where prayers will be said at 6 p.m. today. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to V.A. Outpatient Clinic, attention: Carolyn Millender, 500 East Walnut St., Evansville, IN 47713 or Western Kentucky Regional Blood Center, 3015 Old Hartford Road, Owensboro, KY 42303.

Coy Ray St. Clair

DUNDEE - Coy Ray St. Clair, 80, died Saturday, July 17, 2004, at his home. He was born the son of the late Henry "Bud" and Ida Carter St. Clair in the Dundee community of Ohio County and was a farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois St. Clair, in 1999.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Coy Ray St. Clair Jr. of Hartford; a daughter, Patricia Trogden of Hartford; two grandsons, Coy "Colt" Ray St. Clair III and Collin St. Clair; three granddaughters, Deann Smith, Kristi Willoughby and Brandy Willoughby; and two sisters, Mary Catherine Louden of Memphis and Velma Morrison of Louisville.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Duke-Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Hartford. Burial will follow in Olaton cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 3 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m.

Regina 'Sue' Higgins

EVANSVILLE - Regina "Sue" Higgins, 66, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2004, at Deaconess Hospital. Sue was a member of First Southern Baptist Church and had worked for the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corp. as a secretary.

She is survived by her husband, James Higgins, of 49 years; two sons, Steve and his wife, Teresa Higgins, of Evansville and Vance and his wife, Cindi Higgins, of Owensboro; two sisters, Myra Martin of Calera, Ala., and Deane Higgins of Jemison, Ala.; two granddaughters, Teila Higgins of Atlanta and Sheila Higgins of Evansville. Funeral services were Monday, July 12, at Ziemer Funeral Home, East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville, with the Rev. Don Moore officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Gideon Bible Society or First Southern Baptist Church.

Hazel A. Mann

HENDERSON - Hazel A. Mann, 91, of Henderson, formerly of Independence, Mo., died at 2:17 p.m., Sunday, July 4, 2004, at Methodist Hospital. She was a member of The Presbyterian Church of Henderson. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Samuel Fortin and Palmer Mann.

Survivors include a sister, Margaret Jennings of Henderson; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. Dr. J. Douglas Blair will officiate. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Mount Washington cemetery in Independence. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to The Presbyterian Church of Henderson or St. Anthony's Hospice.

Juanita S. Pounds

GENTRYVILLE, Ind. - Juanita S. Pounds, 88, of Gentryville died Thursday, July 29, 2004, at Miller's Merry Manor in Rockport, Ind.

Juanita was born in Forest, Ind., on May 7, 1916, to the late George F. and Clara J. (Crabtree) Kennedy. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon A. "Doc" Pounds on Jan. 24, 2003; and a son, John L. Pounds in 1996.

Surviving are a daughter, Janet "Punkie" Botsko and husband Chuck of Gentryville; five grandchildren, Leon E., John Kirk and Drake V. Pounds, Stephanie "Stacy" Gottman and Kristina "Kristy" Rumley; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport with the Rev. Timothy Pounds officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hill cemetery in Rockport.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. until time of services Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, Rockport Library or American Heart Association.

Terry J. Inman

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Terry J. Inman, 55, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend to all who knew him, went to heaven on June 20, 2004, at his home in Riverside with family at his bedside. He was born in Owensboro and was employed by Fleetwood Industries RV Division in California for more than 30 years.

He graduated from Hancock County High School in 1966, where he played baseball. He attended Murray State University prior to moving to California. He started in the RV industry in 1970 with his brother, Jim. He was Fleetwood sales manager for high-end motor coaches throughout the western section of the country.

He is survived and missed deeply by his wife and best friend, Debbie; a son, Capt. Ryan Inman (USAF); a stepdaughter, Kammy; two grandchildren, Timmy and Leah; a brother and wife, Jim and Shirley Inman of Pellville; a sister and husband, Carole and Dana Bishop of Owensboro; nephews, Scott and Greg Inman and Dana Bishop Jr.; nieces, Lisa Puckett, Kim and Margaret Bishop and numerous great-nephews and nieces. Preceding him in death are his father and mother, Bill and Gladys Inman of Pellville; a brother, Bill; and sisters, Mayse, Margaret, Raye and Mary Dorothy of Akron, Ohio.

Memorial and burial services were at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Riverside. Any gratitudes or gifts of service may be made to the City of Hope, Los Angeles, or for cancer research. Any questions may be referred to Jim Inman.

David Allen Lam

LEWISPORT - David Allen Lam, 43, of Lewisport, residing at the Heartland Villa Nursing Home, passed from his life and into the arms of his Lord and savior on Thursday, July 8, 2004, after a courageous battle with cancer. David was born on Jan. 19, 1961, in Indianapolis, but had lived the last several years in Lewisport. David was a member of Lewisport Baptist Church and had worked at the Dollar General Store, The Oaks Nursing Home and Liberty's Jumpin' Jack's. David was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Lam of Indianapolis in December 1998; and his mother, Judy Garmon of Indianapolis in September 2003.

Surviving family members include several brothers and sisters, Vicki Horn of Lewisport, Gary Lam of Tennessee, Randy Lam of Colorado, Cheresa Garmon, Laniesha Sota, Nicole Garmon and Nadia Garmon, all of Indianapolis; and six nephews and four nieces.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2004, at Taylor-Raymond-Spear Funeral Home in Lewisport with Brother Gilbert Vandgrift officiating. Burial will be in Lewisport cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at Taylor-Raymond-Spear Funeral Home in Lewisport. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Lewisport Baptist Church Building Fund.
