Donna Lynn (Lacy) Dolliver

DALEVILLE, Ind. - Donna Lynn (Lacy) Dolliver, 58, of Daleville died unexpectedly Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004. She was born in Indianapolis on Feb. 14, 1946, and lived in Orestes, Ind., for 30 years before moving to Daleville four and 1/2 years ago. She was a dedicated homemaker and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She graduated from Arlington High School in Indianapolis in 1964 and was involved in and a member of many community clubs and associations. Donna was very involved with 4-H Horse and Pony activities, a member of "MCOA," raised and bred English Mastiffs and was a member of a classic car club and Anderson Eagles.

Survivors include her husband, Darrell Dolliver, whom she married July 26, 1970; her father, Donald Lacy of Owensboro; four daughters, Karman Dolliver of Muncie, Ind., and Karla Hunter and husband, Randy Hunter, of Alexandria, Ind., Danna Dolliver of Alexandria and Jodi Dolliver of Nashville; three sisters, Wendy Schienbein of Owensboro, Pam and husband, Gary Stahl, and Esther Evans, all of Pennsylvania; two brothers, Paul (Andy) Lacy of Owensboro and Jack Lacy of Nashville; and five grandchildren, Corey Dolliver, Tayler Hunter, Jacey Hurt, Brock Hunter and Laila McLeod. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jacqueline (Boatman) Lacy.

Services are at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory, North Chapel, 6061 State Road 9 North, with the Rev. Carl Cloud officiating. Calling hours are from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Saunders cemetery in Daleville.

Bernie Eugene Edwards

GREENVILLE - Bernie Eugene Edwards, 78, of Greenville died last week at his home in Greenville. He was born in Muhlenberg County on Oct. 23, 1925, and was a retired hair stylist. He served in World War II and the Korean War as the youngest chief petty officer in the Navy at the time. He was active in both judo and boxing. Later, he spent time in Los Angeles as a working actor. He owned his own hair salon at the Ambassador Hotel in Beverly Hills. He was a wonderful and special person, a loving father, brother and friend who will be missed terribly by his family and friends.

Survivors include a son, Blake Edwards of Chicago; three daughters, Kimberly Edwards Klytta of Park Ridge, Ill., and Karen and Donna; two grandchildren, Isabella and Alexander; two brothers, Douglas Edwards and Hildred Edwards, both of Powderly; and three sisters, Anna Bouvia of Buff, N.Y., Marion Vincent of Central City and Carolyn Bowen of Powderly.

Funeral services will be this evening at 8 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Visitation will be this evening from 3 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Town of Maine cemetery in Park Ridge, Ill.

Thomas Carl Fulkerson

BEAVER DAM - Thomas Carl Fulkerson, 86, of Beaver Dam died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004, at his home. He was born May 2, 1918, in Ohio County, the son of Thomas King and Ollie Lee Downey Fulkerson. He married Lorene Robinson, also of Ohio County, on Oct. 18, 1950, in Corinth, Miss. Mr. Fulkerson retired in 1980 from Tennessee Valley Authority power plant in Drakesboro. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a life member of Disabled American Veterans. He was a member of Pond Run Baptist Church in Echols.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the 38th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron. His squadron was among the first group of Americans to enter Paris during its liberation and was also briefly assigned to accompany Dwight Eisenhower. He was a two-time Purple Heart recipient, having been wounded in hedgerow fighting in Normandy and later badly wounded in an explosion in France. He was preceded in death by his three brothers and four sisters, Iva Fulkerson, Myrtle Bowen, Dora Leslie, Kenneth Fulkerson, Flossie Lewis, Cecil Fulkerson and Ernest Fulkerson.

He is survived by his wife, Lorene and their four children, Shirley Ann (husband, Malcolm) Barnes of Chiggerville, James L. (wife, Susan) Fulkerson of Hartford, Robert K. (wife, Delona) Fulkerson of Beaver Dam and Glenn D. (wife, Kimberly) Fulkerson of Springfield, Ill; and his 12 grandchildren, Malcolm S.T.J. Barnes, Joshua T. Fulkerson, Joseph H.R. (wife, Carrie) Barnes, Zachary B. Fulkerson, Jillian L. Fulkerson, Nicholas K. Fulkerson, Nathan K. Fulkerson, Kaitlyn P. Fulkerson, Ashley L. Fulkerson, Madelyn S. Fulkerson, Thomas R. Fulkerson and Benjamin J. Fulkerson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation and services will be at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Visitation will be today from 3 to 8 p.m. and Friday beginning at 9 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Steve Sorrels and the Rev. Willis McCracken officiating. Burial will follow at Pond Run cemetery.

William T. 'Bill' Head

William T. "Bill" Head, 33, of 704 Poindexter St., Owensboro, died at 10:02 p.m., Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born Dec. 16, 1970, in Daviess County to Charles Head Sr. and Brenda Howard Lindsey and was employed at Ace Lube as assistant manager for seven years. He was a member of the Catholic faith and enjoyed being outdoors, fishing with his brothers and, especially, barbecuing. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Head Sr., in 1993.

Survivors include his fiancee, Kimberly Morris; and he was the loving father of Tyler and Travis, both at home. Other survivors include his mother, Brenda Lindsey of Owensboro; his stepfather, David Lindsey of Owensboro; his grandparents, Thurman and Marie Howard of Owensboro; two brothers, Charles Head Jr. and John Michael Head and his wife, Tara, all of Owensboro; a niece, Annie Wood; and three nephews, Matthew Head and John and Allen Head.

Services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home chapel. Visitation is from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill cemetery in Elba. The Rev. Dennis McFadden will officiate. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to William T. "Bill" Head Memorial Fund.

James L. Burns

James L. Burns, 71, of Owensboro died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in Daviess County on Nov. 27, 1932, to the late Fred Ivan and Golda (Taylor) Burns. He attended Sutherland School, was a 1952 graduate of Daviess County High School and received a bachelor of science degree in agriculture from Western Kentucky University. He was a tank commander in the U.S. Army, serving stateside during the Korean conflict. He started farming in April 1964 with his brother, Rodney Burns. While growing up, he was a member of Panther Creek Church. While in college he attended First Baptist Church and later joined Eastwood Baptist Church in Bowling Green in 1955, where he was ordained a deacon and was a trustee and usher for several years. He joined Third Baptist Church in Owensboro in 1964, where he was also an usher. He was a NASCAR fan, restored toy tractors and was a member of the TNT tractor pulling organization for more than 20 years. He was a Kentucky Colonel. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy Burns, Fred Taylor Burns, Cecil Rodney Burns and Ben Allen Burns.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Sue Mayhugh Burns; two sons, Drew Alan Burns and wife, Carol, and Scott Taylor Burns, all of Owensboro; a daughter, Beth Ann Yochum and husband, Brian, of Richmond, Va.; and four grandchildren, Ellen Burns, James D. Burns, Katherine Yochum and Will Yochum.

Services are at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at Third Baptist Church in Owensboro. Burial is in Elmwood cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Third Baptist Church, P.O. Box 808, Owensboro, KY 42302-0808.

Geneva Mae Ambrose

Geneva Mae Ambrose, 74, of 2324 Georgia Lane, Owensboro, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born Sept. 7, 1928, to the late Porter and Iva Greene in Daviess County. She was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church, retired from Daviess County Vocational School and was a dealer of antique dolls and glassware at Consumer Mall. She was raised at Kentucky Baptist Children's Home, graduated from Cumberland College and was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Smith Wallace Ambrose, who died Nov. 7, 1993; and two brothers, Delbert and Gerald Greene.

Survivors include two sons, Doug and his wife, Sharon, Ambrose and Steve Ambrose, all of Owensboro; six grandchildren, Stephanie Draper, Andrea, Matt and Ben Ambrose, Angel Nichols and Natalie Ambrose; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lois and her husband, Norris, Whitaker of Owensboro.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home, with entombment in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Kentucky Baptist Homes for Children, 10200 Linn Station Road, No. 200, Louisville, KY 40223.

Francisco 'Kit' Corpus

ISLAND - Francisco "Kit" Corpus, 54, of Island died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. He was a quality technician for the Lear Corp. of Madisonville.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Corpus; five daughters, Inez Montibon, Mia Corpus, Katrina Corpus, Pamela Corpus and Lesley Corpus; a stepdaughter, Stacy Watts; a stepson, Brandon Watts; two brothers, Toribio Corpus Jr. and Dr. Roberto Corpus; and two sisters, Carmen Elevado and Lyn Corpus.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Visitation: From 3 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 8 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions: McLean County--American Cancer Society Relay for Life, c/o BB&T, attention: Sandy Baird, P.O. Box 130, Calhoun, KY 42327.

Grace Aull Gillim

Grace Aull Gillim, 73, of 1205 Leitchfield Road, Owensboro, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born Aug. 3, 1931, in Owensboro to the late Jerome and Artie (Ezell) Woods. She retired from American Olean Tile Co. and was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church. She was active in March of Dimes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Gillim.

Survivors include the father of her children, Ray Vincent "Pete" Aull of Owensboro; two daughters, Judy (Richard) Brown and Belinda (Ronald L.) Blair, both of Owensboro; four sons, Gregory Wayne Aull, Robert "Bobby" Aull, Dennis R. Aull and Thomas L. Aull, all of Owensboro; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are at 11 a.m. today, Sept. 2, at James H. Davis Funeral Home chapel in Owensboro. Burial is in Elmwood cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is after 9 a.m. today at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Foundation for Health, attention Cancer Center, P.O. Box 22505, Owensboro, KY 42304-2505.

Gloria A. Huntington

Gloria A. Huntington, 74, of Lee Manor Apartments, 1651 W. 4th St., Owensboro, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, at her home. She attended Walnut Memorial Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Collis Huntington and Johnathan Huntington; a daughter, Evelyn Herrell; and a sister, Shirley Beam.

Services: 3 p.m. Friday at James H. Davis Funeral Home chapel in Owensboro. Visitation: From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Kimberly Ann Johnson

DAWSON SPRINGS - Kimberly Ann Johnson, 31, of Dawson Pointe Nursing Home, Dawson Springs, formerly of Wendell Foster's Campus for Developmental Disabilities, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. She was born April 3, 1973, to David and Nancy Johnson in Peru, Ind. She graduated from Seven Hills School in 1993 and was a member of the Catholic faith. She was raised with tender loving care by her paternal grandparents for 23 years before going to the Wendell Foster Center. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary "Judy" Johnson, who died in 1999; and her mother, Nancy Johnson, who died in 2003.

Survivors include her grandfather, Frank "Jiggs" Johnson of Owensboro; her father, David Johnson of Warren, Ohio; her guardian, Dr. Carol Hulsey of Philpot; two aunts, Brenda Morris of Calhoun and Barbara Hostetler of Peru; her uncle, Bruce Johnson of Owensboro; a sister, Pam of Warren; several cousins; and many friends.

Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Immaculate Catholic Church, with burial in Calhoun cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today and after 11 a.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Wendell Foster's Campus for Developmental Disabilities, P.O. Box 1668, Owensboro, KY 42302.

Ann Pauline Maurer

GREENVILLE - Ann Pauline Maurer, 88, of Greenville died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville after a lengthy illness. She was a retired factory worker.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol Jean Smith; and a brother, John Seckar.

Services are private. Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville is in charge of arrangements.
