CENTRAL CITY -- June Lam, 77, of Central City died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at home. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Central City.

Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl Ann Clark, Jennifer Lynn Lam and Regina Bradshaw; a brother, Paul Johnston; and a sister, Mary Vaden.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial: Rose Hill cemetery in Central City. Visitation: From 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Glen Phillips

TUSCOLA, Ill. -- Glen Phillips, 73, of Tuscola died at 2:13 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at his residence. Mr. Phillips was born Oct. 7, 1931, in Vanzant, the son of Charlie and Gertie Bratcher Phillips. He married Janice Marie Rahn on Jan. 30, 1954, in Hallsville. She preceded him in death on Dec. 24, 1980. Mr. Phillips retired from the North Ward Elementary School in Tuscola, where he worked as a janitor. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tuscola. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and a grandson.

Survivors include a son, Karl Phillips of Paris, Ill., a daughter, Christine Spencer of Irvington; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a stepgrandson, two brothers, Floyd Phillips of Hardinsburg and John Phillips of Burton, Mich.; and two sisters, Wanda McCarty of Irvington and Betty Phillips of Hardinsburg,

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 19, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 600 East Northline Road, Tuscola, IL, with the Rev. Michael Ruhlig officiating. Visitation was Thursday, Nov. 18, at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main St., Tuscola, IL. Burial will be in the Tuscola cemetery. Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association or American Lung Association.

Harold W. Renfrow

OLATON -- Harold W. Renfrow, 80, of Olaton died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, at Professional Care Health & Rehabilitation Home in Hartford. He was a farmer and an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include a brother, Joseph Renfrow; and a sister, Martine Hazelip.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Duke-Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Hartford. Burial: Oakwood cemetery in Hartford. Visitation: From 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Beulah Kirtley Rone

LIVERMORE -- Beulah Kirtley Rone, 91, of Livermore died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. Beulah Lee Kirtley was born April 23, 1913, in Ohio County to the late Earnest Speed and Annie Alexander Kirtley, was a 1932 graduate of the former Livermore High School and was later married to Dr. Wendell Holmes Rone Sr. on June 30, 1934. Beulah was a retired kindergarten teacher, teaching in several communities, including Mayfield and Owensboro. She also taught classes at Mid Continent University for ministers' wives. Beulah was active on local, regional and state levels for the Baptist Women's Missionary Union and was a member of the Livermore Missionary Baptist Church. Her husband, Dr. Wendell H. Rone Sr., served as pastor for many different churches during his life, where Beulah was always active in the music ministries of each church and also teaching children and youths in mission work. After her husband's retirement, Beulah remained active by teaching senior adults in different activities at the church, and they were both active in Livermore Senior Citizens. Her husband of 69 years, Dr. Wendell H. Rone Sr., died July 29, 2003.

Survivors include three children and their spouses, Wendell H. Rone Jr. and Gail of Lake Quivira, Kan., Ila Faye Rone Miller and Bob of Las Vegas and Kyle Yates Rone and Metta of Nassau Bay, Texas; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; two sisters-in-law, Alberta "Birdie" Kirtley and Edith Bennett, both of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bellevue Baptist Church, 519 Byers Ave., Owensboro, with the Rev. Wendell Sandefur, the Rev. Gary Shockley and Dr. Guy Deane officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery in Livermore. Friends may visit with the Rone family from 11 a.m. until time of services Saturday at Bellevue Baptist Church. Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel, is in charge of funeral arrangements for the Rone family.

The Rone family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Livermore Senior Citizens, P.O. Box 279, Livermore, KY 42352 or Livermore Deacon Benevolent Fund, P.O. Box 8, Livermore, KY 42352. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Bellevue Baptist Church and at Musters in Livermore.

Laura B. Mayfield

Laura B. Mayfield, 90, of 2019 E. 6th St., Owensboro, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in Utica to the late Alfred and Eva Talbott Bradfield. She was retired from the Daviess County School System and worked at Thruston, Daviess County Middle and Daviess County High schools. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Mayfield, on Sept. 17, 1992; two sisters; and a brother. Mrs. Mayfield was a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church and the Young At Heart Sunday school class.

She is survived by two sons, Shirley Dean Mayfield and Larry R. Mayfield and wife, Lamone, both of Owensboro; five grandchildren, Laurie Marlowe of Owensboro, Sherry Adams and husband, Tom, of Murray, Susan White and husband, Chad, of Lewisport, Randall D. Mayfield and wife, Deeayne, and Beth Bell and husband, Mike, all of Owensboro; two sisters, Florene Hunt and husband, Joffrey, of Utica and Hettie Ward of Owensboro; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Glenn Funeral Home chapel. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after noon Sunday. Burial will be in Rosehill cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Yellow Creek Baptist Church Building Fund.

Randall Earl 'Tank' Alexander Jr.

Randall Earl "Tank" Alexander Jr., 78, of 1230 Wayside Drive West, Owensboro, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at his home. He was born July 18, 1927, to the late Randall and Mabel Conner Alexander Sr. in Daviess County. He was a retired electrician with Local No. 1701, a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church, a Kentucky Colonel and an Army veteran of World War II. Randall was active in labor movements, a charter member and officer of United Steel Workers No. 4959, past president of IBEW No. 1701, VFW Post 696, All American Commander in 1994-95, National All American VFW Commander in 1994-95, American Legion Post 9, AMVETS No. 75, and a member of American Legion No. 40 & 8. He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Clara May Alexander; two sisters, Beverly Athen and Lou Nell Alexander; and a brother, Charles Ferrell Alexander.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Brenda Alexander; three sons, Charles Lewis Alexander and Parvin Tony Alexander, both of Owensboro, and Clarence (Rudy) Alexander of Mooresville, N.C.; a daughter, Michelle Alexander White of Owensboro; five grandchildren, Ryan and Luke Alexander, Eric and Alex White and Brant Walker; a brother, Donnie Joe Alexander of Owensboro; a sister, Shirlene Simmons of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home, with visitation from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Prayers will be said at 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Association, 723 Harvard Drive, Owensboro, KY 42301 or Wendell Foster's Campus for Developmental Disabilities, P.O. Box 1668, Owensboro, KY 42302.

Gertrude Beulah Barnett

Gertrude Beulah Barnett, 87, of 1840 Willis Ave., Owensboro, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, at Bon Harbor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was a nurse and a member of St. Stephen Cathedral.

Survivors include a son, James Larry Collins; and two daughters, Imelda Clark Hester and Betty Lou Hoffman.

Graveside services: 1 p.m. today at St. Alphonsus cemetery. Visitation: From 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. today at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home. Memorial contributions: Gertrude Beulah Barnett Memorial Fund, c/o Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home, 519 Locust St., Owensboro, KY 42301.

Florence Wilson Ambrose

REYNOLDS STATION -- Florence Wilson Ambrose, 85, of Reynolds Station died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in Whitesville and was a homemaker. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Ambrose on Oct. 25, 1997.

Survivors include a son, Junior Ambrose of Reynolds Station; two daughters, Mary Fambrough or Reynolds Station and Joyce Wiseman of Hartford; four grandchildren, Tracy Maurer and Sandy Ambrose, both of Reynolds Station, Stephanie Kirk of Hammond, Ind., and Steve Burks of Masonville; seven great-grandchildren; and a half brother, Earl Ray Finley of Deanefield.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Geary Funeral Home in Fordsville with burial in Bells Run cemetery in Ohio County. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Kentucky Baptist Homes for Children-Glendale Campus.

Earl E. Connor

Earl E. Connor, 80, of 1708 Shawnee Drive, Owensboro, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in Jackson County, Ill., on April 21, 1924, to the late Louis Arden and Anna (Brantley) Connor. He was a member of Pate Chapel Church in Murphysboro, Ill., and attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He received a degree in merchandising from St. Louis University. He retired after 54 years of employment with International Shoe, Inc. He was the founder of Oney's Shoes and Oney's Apartments and operated both for 25 years. He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Iona Connor; two sons, Daniel Connor of Branson, Mo., and Rodger Connor of Owensboro; two daughters, Hazel Juanita Davis of Hawaii and Kathy Bass-King of Springfield, Mo.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Sorgho. Visitation is from 10 until 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro is in charge of arrangements. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice & Palliative Care of the Ohio Valley, 723 Harvard Drive, Owensboro, KY 42301.

Martha Mitchell West

SACRAMENTO -- Martha Mitchell West, 85 years old, our loved one has gone on her journey to her place of rest to join the loved ones gone on before. No matter how sick she was she put everyone before her needs.

preceded in death by her husband, Clyde (Gene) West; a grandson, Dannie Downs Jr.; her parents, Clarence and Ada Mitchell; a sister, Mary Kokulak; a brother, Robert C. Mitchell; and a sister, Dot Mitchell.

She is survived by one son and four daughters and their spouses, Michael and Sherrie West, Barbara and Les Wiggins, Ada and Billy McDowell of Sacramento, Janice and Dannie Downs of Richland, Ind., and Norma and Doug Everly of Island; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Catherine Howard of Island, Ora Harrison of Sacramento and Rena and her spouse Rocco Guarnaccia of New York; two brothers, Marion Mitchell of Evansville and James and his spouse Sue Mitchell of Detroit; a sister-in-law as close as a sister, Nancy West Lee Millard of Sacramento; and 25 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Sacramento Cumberland Presbyterian Church with burial in Sacramento Cumberland Presbyterian cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday after 5 p.m. and Thursday after 8 a.m. at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento. Mrs. West will lie in state at the Sacramento Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Thursday from noon until funeral time.

Expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of donations to Hospice or the Sacramento Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
