DRAKESBORO - Charles Ray "Chucky" Dwyer, 53, of Drakesboro died Thursday, March 10, 2005, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Buchanan Dwyer; a son, Charles Michael Dwyer; two daughters, Stacie Wagoner and Breanna Smith; his father, Billy Dwyer; and a sister, Virginia Bratcher.

Services: 11 a.m. today at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home. Burial: Peanut cemetery in Drakesboro. Visitation: After 8:30 a.m. today at the funeral home.

John Edward 'Eddie' Barnett

SELBYVILLE, Del. - John Edward "Eddie" Barnett, 43, died Thursday, March 3, 2005, at his home in Selbyville following an illness of several months.

Born April 28, 1961, in Muhlenberg County he graduated from Muhlenberg Central High School in 1979. He was a self-employed contractor working in the Ocean City, Md., and Selbyville area. He was active in the community, coaching Little League baseball in Sussex County for seven years and spearheading a fund-raiser with the "Sand Belt" Races to purchase new playground equipment for Phillip C. Showell Elementary School, where a plaque was placed in his honor. He enjoyed being with his wife and family and was an avid NASCAR fan. Eddie was a former member of Powderly Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Ruth Odgen of Central City.

Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Heather Barnett of Selbyville; two sons, Tommy Barnett of Selbyville and Kent Barnett of Central City; one daughter, April Barnett of Greenville; and one stepson, Joseph Fowler of Selbyville; his mother and stepfather, Ann and Billie Faith of Greenville; his father, Roy Thomas Barnett Jr. of Huntsville, Ala.; one sister, Maya K. (Keith) McDonald of Watkinsville, Ga.; one half brother, Chris (Mandi) Faith of Huntsville; maternal grandparents Charles and Margaret Edwards of Powderly; one niece and three nephews; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation was held Sunday, March 7, 2005, from noon until 1 p.m. at Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville. Graveside services officiated by the Rev. Andy Ehlars, pastor of High Tide Baptist Church, were held at 1:30 p.m. at Roxana cemetery in Roxana, Del.

James Earl Allgood

HARDINSBURG - James Earl Allgood, 59, of Se Ree died Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at his home.

Survivors include a son, James Ray Allgood; two daughters, Carolyn Persful and Karen Mae Hubbard; five stepchildren; his father, Jesse Hobert "Doc" Allgood; a brother, David Allgood; a half brother, Orville Blair; and a half sister, Candy Allgood.

Services: 11 a.m. today at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg. Burial: Cook cemetery near Custer. Visitation: After 8:30 a.m. today at the funeral home.

Charles R. Blanton

Charles R. Blanton, formerly of Owensboro, passed away Feb. 17, 2005, in Melbourne, Fla. He was the son of the late Robert and Catherine Blanton and the brother of the late Bill Blanton.

He is survived by his brothers, Richard Blanton of Alton, Ill., Darrell Blanton of Fordsville, Fred Blanton and Tom Blanton, both of Owensboro, and John Blanton of Russellville.

A memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 13, at East Fork Baptist Church in Fordsville. In loving memory of our brother, friends and family are invited to attend.

Elizabeth Josephine 'Betty Jo' (Kamuf) Kaelin

Mrs. Betty Jo Kaelin, 74, of Owensboro passed away Thursday, March 10, 2005, at her home after a lengthy illness, surrounded by family and friends. She was a daughter of the late Eugene and Cora Westerfield Kamuf. She was born Dec. 20, 1930, in Daviess County. Mrs. Kaelin was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Albert Joseph "A.J." Kaelin Jr., on July 29, 2002.

Mrs. Kaelin retired after 33 years as a nuclear medical technologist from Owensboro-Daviess County Hospital. Mrs. Kaelin received her bachelor of science degree from Brescia College in 1966. She was active in her community, serving as a past president of Owensboro Herb Society and publicity chairwoman for the Daviess County Homemakers Association, in addition to having served as president to both Whitesville and Sorgho chapters. Mrs. Kaelin was a recipient of the 2002 Sophia Award for outstanding senior service to Precious Blood Parish, of which she has been a lifetime member.

Survivors include six sons, Joe Kaelin and Roxanne Chase, Jim Kaelin and wife, Brenda, and Jerry Kaelin and Jan Mason, all of Owensboro, Larry Kaelin and his wife, Norma, of Philpot, Ron Kaelin and his wife, Becky, of Owensboro and Mike Kaelin and his wife, Kathy, of Whitesville; three daughters, Vickie Payne and Sheila Boone and her husband, Bill, all of Owensboro, and Darlene Mann and her husband, Terry, of Calhoun; 32 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; six brothers, William "Bub" Kamuf and his wife, Betsy, of Louisville, Donald Kamuf and his wife, Betty, of Cincinnati, and Tom Kamuf and his wife, Sarah, Dan Kamuf and his wife, Charlotte, Jim Kamuf and his wife, Martha, and John Larry Kamuf and his wife, Donna, of Owensboro; a sister, Margie Merimee and her husband, Joe Bill, of Owensboro; an uncle, Richard Kamuf of Owensboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services are at 10 a.m. Saturday at Precious Blood Catholic Church. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home in Owensboro. Prayers will be said at 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery. The Rev. Brad Whistle will officiate. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice or Precious Blood Building Fund.

Joy Dean Reisz

Joy Dean Reisz, 53, of Owensboro went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System. Born April 15, 1951, in Daviess County, she owned and operated River City Tax and Tanning for seven years and was a member of Lifeline Revival Center. Her life was devoted to her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, R.T. Vincent; her mother-in-law, Jean Reisz; her husband, Raymond Boling; and a stepgranddaughter, Dana Waltrip.

She is survived by her husband and best friend of 10 years, Ottie Reisz; her mother, Dorothy Vincent; her father-in-law, Otto Reisz; a son, Edward Orr; a daughter, Angela Patterson; a stepson, Billy Boling; two sisters and their husbands, Dorothy and Homer Harper and Kathy and Mike Christian; a brother, Roger D. Vincent; five grandchildren, Zachary Allen, Kayla Patterson, Christian Box and Joshua and Alex Orr; five stepgrandchildren; 12 stepgreat-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at Glenn Funeral Home, with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Richard A. Stowers Jr.

Richard A. Stowers Jr., 78, of 815 Kentucky Parkway, Owensboro, died Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at his home. He was born on July 13, 1926, in Louisville to the late Richard A. and Jessie Mae (Mattingly) Stowers. He was a farmer and a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. He was active in the National Farmers Organization (NFO) and was a member of Knights of Columbus, 4th degree. He was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Stowers.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Lydia "Pidgie" Stowers; five children, Becky Miles and husband, Mark, of Owensboro, Roxanne Chase of Owensboro, Sherry Phillips and husband, Bob, of Spring, Texas, Richard A. "Rick" Stowers III of Owensboro and Jennifer Stowers of St. Petersburg, Fla.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, James F. Stowers; three sisters, Joan Saalwachter, Mary Cundiff and husband, Don, and Betty Jean Gilles; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 7222 Highway 56, Owensboro. Burial is in Mater Dolorosa cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Saturday at the church. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to St. Joseph's Peace Mission for Children, P.O. Box 23108, Owensboro, KY 42304. James H. Davis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

BREMEN - Eva Mae Vincent, 92, of Bremen died Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. She was a former cook at Bremen School and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Bremen.

Survivors include a son, Harold Vincent.

Services: 1 p.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Burial: Bethlehem cemetery. Visitation: After 5 p.m. today at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento. Lie in state: From noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Gaston Hayes

BEAVER DAM - Gaston Hayes, 76, of Beaver Dam died Monday, March 7, 2005, at home. He was a retired self-employed carpenter and attended Calvary Hill Baptist Church in Beaver Dam.

Survivors include his best friend, Teresa Smith of Beaver Dam; two sons, Roger Hayes of Whitesville and Michael Hayes of Alaska; and two daughters, Linda Gaby of Frankfort and Deborah Hayes of Whitesville; nine grandchildren, Craig Hayes, Tracia (Hayes) Edge, Christopher Hayes, Joel Hayes, Jonathan Gaby, Jeffery Gaby, Rebeccah Hayes, Daniel Hayes and Joshua Hayes; and five great-grandchildren, Nathan Hayes, Taylor Hayes, Sydney Edge, Branson Edge and Ashlyn Edge.

Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford. Burial will be in Calvary Hill Church cemetery in Beaver Dam. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mary E. Vanover

PANTHER - Mary E. Vanover, 83, of the Panther area in Daviess County died Saturday, March 19, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System. Mary Elizabeth Wills was born July 1, 1921, in McLean County to the late Albert and Irene Wills and was later married to Jessie "Jake" Vanover on July 1, 1936. Mary was a homemaker and a member of the Little Flock Holiness Church. She also enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family. Her husband of 67 years, Jessie "Jake" Vanover, died July 8, 2003.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Kenneth and Lee Vanover of Panther and Larry E. and Frances Vanover of Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Betty and Roy Brown of Sacramento and Wanda Mauzy of Beech Grove; 12 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Harry Wilson and the Rev. Jim Midkff officiating. Burial will be in the Brushy Fork cemetery in Daviess County. Friends may visit with the Vanover family from 2 to 7 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of services Monday at Musters in Calhoun.

CALHOUN - Jerry Wilson, 68, of Calhoun died Thursday, March 17, 2005, at Riverside Manor Health Care Center in Calhoun. He was a retired welder, a member of Calhoun Holiness Church and a Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Ko Wilson.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial: Calhoun cemetery with military honors conducted by McLean County Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post No. 5415. Bobby Joe Peveler

SACRAMENTO - Bobby Joe Peveler, 74, of 160 Chestnut St., Sacramento, died at 9:27 p.m., Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at his home. He was born April 13, 1930, in Muhlenberg County and was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church in Bremen. He retired from International Harvester Co. and was a Korean War veteran. He was preceded in death by a son, David Joe Peveler, in 1985; his parents, George and Flora Peveler; a brother, Dallace Peveler; and three sisters, Merline Peveler, Nell Markwell and Bonnie Harper.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Rebecca Saddler Peveler of Sacramento; a son, Michael Peveler of New Albany, Ind.; two brothers, Boyd (Lana) Peveler of New Albany and Winfred (Pat) Peveler of Clarksville, Ind.; two sisters, Roma Gibson and Eva O'Neal, both of House Springs, Mo.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 19, at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento, with the Rev. Dan Yeager officiating. Burial will be in New Harmony cemetery in Bremen.
