CENTRAL CITY - Mary Elizabeth Carr, 82, of 315 Park St., Central City, died at 7:05 a.m., Sunday, March 20, 2005, at Audubon Hospital in Louisville. She was born on April 8, 1922, in Muhlenberg County and was a homemaker and member of Green River Chapel General Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Randall Carr, in 1983; and a son, Louis, in 1994.

Survivors include a son, Larry (Norma) Carr of Shepardsville; five grandchildren, Terry Carr, Sherri Beth Arnold, Kathy Lynn Peek, Forest Dale Ridenor and Mark Alvin Ridenor; and two great-grandchildren, Courtney and Trent Arnold.

Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with the Rev. Jewell Martin officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery in Central City. Visitation is after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mark C. Allinger

SANTA CLAUS, Ind. - Mark C. Allinger, 81, of Santa Claus died Saturday, March 19, 2005, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. He retired from Amoco Oil Co. after 35 years and was a World War II veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Allinger; four daughters, Donna Ramholz, Nancy Comerford, Ginny Allinger and Bonnie Peterson; two sisters, Lela Veeck and Norma Jean Henke; and two stepsons, Bradley Everett and Brian Everett.

Visitation: From 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Fuller Funeral Home & Crematory in Dale, Ind. Memorial contributions: Santa Claus United Methodist Church Building Fund, 16713 North State Road 245, Santa Claus, IN 47579.

Elmer F. Horton

Elmer F. Horton, 78, of Utica died Monday, March 21, 2005, at Professional Care Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hartford. He was a retired farmer.

Survivors include two sisters, Frances Wright and Mary Louise Burden.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel. Burial: New Bethel cemetery in Ohio County. Visitation: From 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions: New Bethel cemetery Fund.

Patricia Ann Hill

GREENVILLE - Patricia Ann Hill, 69, of 509 Kennedy Road, Greenville, died Sunday, March 20, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born March 1, 1936, in Muhlenberg County and was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her father, Noble Benson.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby J. Hill of Greenville; a daughter, Lynn (Eldon) Stanley of Belton; three brothers, Buddy (Barbara) Benson, Donnie Benson and Wayne (Cindy) Benson, all of Greenville; five sisters, June (late Howard) McGhee and Ruby (late Bobby) Knight, both of Greenville, Dorothy (Jerry) Griffin of Frankfort, Ind., Shirley (Russell) LeDuc of Escanaba, Mich., and Brenda Benson of Greenville; her mother, Thelma Benson of Greenville; two grandchildren, Faith Smith of Greenville and Michael (Erin) Stanley of Belton; and five great-grandchildren, Jakop, Savannah, Elizabeth Smith, Cameron and C.J. Stanley.

Services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ted Everly officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery in Central City. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Walter Ray Tatum

CENTRAL CITY - Walter Ray Tatum, 72, of Central City died Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. He was a member of Holiness Faith Church.

Survivors include two brothers, Henry Earl Tatum and Bobby Joe Tatum; and four sisters, Annie L. Duvall, Hazel Duvall, Linda Morphew and Patricia J. Jernigan.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial: Rose Hill cemetery in Central City. Visitation: After 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Dorothy A. Seaton
03/23/2005

FORDSVILLE - Dorothy A. Seaton, 72, of Fordsville died Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Owensboro. She was born in Hancock County and was a homemaker, a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Cabot. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Bowman; and a sister, Josie Bowman.

Survivors include her husband, Billy E. Seaton of Fordsville; five sons, William T. Seaton and wife, Edith, Roger D. Seaton and girlfriend, Leona Wade, Ronnie E. Seaton and wife, Vicki, and Lonnie D. Seaton, all of Fordsville, and Kevin D. Seaton and wife, Jennifer, of Beaver Dam; two daughters, Carolyn S. Smith and husband, Marion, of Fordsville and Bonnie L. Hawkins and husband, Maurice, of Hawesville; a sister, Lillian Richards McDaniel of Beaver Dam; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Friendship Baptist Church in Cabot, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today at Geary Funeral Home in Fordsville and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Polly Spears Burden
03/23/2005

ASHBYBURG - Polly Spears Burden, 90, of Ashbyburg passed away Monday, March 21, 2005, at Riverside Manor Nursing Home in Calhoun. She was born in Hopkins County on Nov. 24, 1914, to the late Joseph Richard and Eliza Jane Smith. She was a homemaker and attended the Jewell City Holiness Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Burden; two sons, Joseph Spears, in 1956, and Dual Spears, in 1995; five sisters; and six brothers.

She is survived by a daughter, Carletta Troutman of Calhoun; two sons, Texal Spears of Ashbyburg and Ben T. Spears of Dixon; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 24, at Tompkins Funeral Home, Slaughters-Hanson chapel, with Brother Ron Hampton and Brother Ryan Sizemore officiating. Burial will be in New Salem cemetery near Slaughters. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be John Spears, Jarred Troutman, Danny Spears, Thomas Spears, Willie Clayton and Edward Sizemore. Honorary pallbearers will be Seth Spears, Calvin Spears, Willie Clayton III, Ross Sizemore, Corbin Wilson, Cable Wilson and Brian Wilson.

Barbara Ann Brown

Barbara Ann Brown, 49, of 726 Locust St., Owensboro, died Monday, March 21, 2005, at her home. She was born Dec. 7, 1955, in Daviess County. She was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral, graduated from Owensboro Senior High in 1975 and attended Western Kentucky University. She was preceded in death by a brother, David H. Brown, in 1996.

Survivors include her parents, William P. Brown Sr. and Opal Brown of Owensboro; a niece, Ashley J. Brown of Owensboro; a nephew, Matthew H. Brown of Owensboro; two brothers, William Pat Brown Jr. and John Stephen Brown, both of Owensboro; and a sister, Janet M. Brown of Owensboro.

Services will be held at a later date. Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

Jerry M. Lamb

GALESBURG, Ill. - Jerry M. Lamb died Saturday, March 19, 2005, in Galesburg. He was born in Owensboro.

Survivors include his wife, Clara; two sons, Gary Lamb of Owensboro and Steven Lamb of Utica; three daughters, Rita Wilson and Mishelle Lewis of Owensboro and Judy Lewis of Friendly Village; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie Mayes of Calhoun and Beverly Luttrell of Panther; one brother, Louis Lamb of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Crosspointe Baptist Church, 550 Worthington Road. The church will be open at 5:30 p.m. for visiting with the family and viewing pictures.

Anna B. Shrout
03/26/2005

Anna B. Shrout, 79, of 1765 W.C.R. 300 South, Rockport, Ind., died Thursday, March 24, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born April 4, 1925, to the late Wallace and Mamie Moore Brown of Bath County. She had worked at General Electric and most recently as a waitress at Tyler Restaurant in Rockport. She was a longtime member of Southside Wesleyan Church and she loved to read.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter T. Shrout, who died Jan. 31, 1985.

Survivors include two sons, Steve Shrout of Rockport and Larry Shrout and his wife, Tanya, and their pet dogs, Daisy and Anna, of Rockport; three grandchildren, Samantha Janosa and her husband, Laz, Chad Atkison and his wife Chelsey, Stevie Ann Arant and her husband, Andrew; four great-grandchildren, Braydon, Bailey, Samuel and Brynlee Kate; four brothers, Wallace Brown Jr. and Bobby Brown, both of Paris, Ky., J.D. Brown of St. Augustine, Fla., and Donald Ray Brown of Indianapolis; four sisters, Lena Davis of West Liberty, Christine Miller of Lexington, Kay Cain of Paris, Ky., and Louise Cole of Winchester; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Rose Shrout of Winchester; also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home with visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Evergreen Memory Gardens in Paris, Ky. Marie Wilson

Ada Marie Wilson, 85, of 4132 Greenbriar Road, Utica, died Friday, March 25, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born on March 13, 1920, in Ohio County to the late John James and Mary Nina (Lytle) Marksberry. She retired from General Electric in 1981. She was a lifelong member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 42 years. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and flowers; she was loved by everyone. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Wilson in 1990; and a son, Charles Wesley Wilson in 1991.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Joyce) Wilson of Pleasant Ridge and Juanita and Lawrence Dragoo of Pleasant Ridge; two sons, David and Delene Wilson of Pleasant Ridge and Leroy and Linda Wilson of Owensboro; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Fred Marksberry of Philpot; and four sisters, Wilma Roberts of Philpot, Edna Mae Henderson of Philpot, June Embry of Owensboro and Helen Roberts of Philpot.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2005, at James H. Davis Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Carmel cemetery in Ohio County. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2005, at James H. Davis Funeral Home.

Mary Wilda Yewell

SACRAMENTO - Mary Wilda Yewell, 83, of Sacramento died at 8:45 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2005, at North Point Nursing Home in Lexington. She was born Feb. 7, 1922, in McLean County and was a homemaker. She was a member of Sacramento Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Terry Yewell of Lexington; two grandchildren, Katie and A.J. Yewell; a sister, Katherine Cabbage of Sacramento; and three brothers, Charles W. Woodburn of Sacramento, Hershel Woodburn of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Bobby Woodburn of Sacramento.

Services are at 3 p.m. today at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento with the Rev. Kimbrough Simmons officiating and assisted by the Rev. Harold Butler. Burial will be in Cumberland Presbyterian Church cemetery in Sacramento. Visitation will be today from 9 a.m. until funeral time at 3 p.m. at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento.
