Willis Darrel Raley

CENTRAL CITY - Willis Darrel Raley, 69, of 637 S. Second St., Central City, died at 9:35 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2005, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. He was born Aug. 24, 1935, in Bevier. He was owner-operator of Raley's Parkway Chevron for 45 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Central City and Central City Masonic Lodge No. 673. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Jean Raley; his parents, Jay and Willie Raley; two brothers, Junior Raley and Billy Raley; and a sister, Barbara Johnson.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny and Pat Raley and Larry and Karen Raley, all of Central City; two grandchildren, Larra Raley and Lindsey Raley, both of Central City; four stepgrandchildren, Mike, Sammy, Austin and Abbi; a brother and sister-in-law, the Rev. Jerry and Joann Raley of Mayfield; a sister and brother-in-law, Beradean and Thomas Warman of Drakesboro; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 1, at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with the Rev. Bob Lowery officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery in Central City. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Masonic services will be at 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Edna Mae Whitney Strunk Stewart

The Lord has called home our beloved mother to be with him on the fourth day of May 2005. Hearts are broken and tears have fallen at the loss of Edna Mae Whitney Strunk Stewart of Owensboro.

She was preceded in death by a son, David Strunk; her parents, Joe Whitney and Rosey Mae Jones Noffsinger; and two sisters, Lorene Bidwell and Betty Louise Whitney.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Newton and Rose Greathouse; three sons, Charles and Brian Stewart and Billy Strunk; three sisters, Christine Vowels, Mary Evon Wade and Rosalee Burton; five brothers, James Noffsinger, Donald Noffsinger, Richard Noffsinger, Johnny Noffsinger and Joe Whitney; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2005, at Glenn Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Elmwood cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Edna Stewart Memorial Fund, c/o Rose Greathouse, 1820 W. Sixth St., Owensboro, KY 42303.

David L. Cline

David L. Cline, 50, of Owensboro died Thursday, April 28, 2005, at his home after a long illness. He was born in Daviess County.

He is survived by seven children, Nature Lynn Deck, Billy Joe Denton, Denver Louis Cline, Lois Lee Cline, Rita Marie Cline, Dallas Cline and Martha Cline; six sisters, Margaret Shreve and Helen Taylor, both of Magan, Barbara Clawson and Shirley Shouse, both of Owensboro, Mary Clauson of Friendly Village and Judy Crouch of Flagler Beach, Fla.; and two brothers, William Cline of Moseleyville and Roy Cline of Central City.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Capitola Flossie Goodall

Capitola Flossie Goodall, 83, of Owensboro died Friday, May 6, 2005, at Riverside Manor in Calhoun. Born in Wynona, Okla., Mrs. Goodall was a retired beautician and member of Parrish Avenue Baptist Church. She was very active with the Salvation Army. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford C. Goodall in 1997.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James E. and Edna Goodall of Utica; four grandchildren, Carolyn Williamson, James E. Goodall Jr., William Michael Goodall and Herbert H. Goodall; and 10 great-grandchildren, J.R. Whorley, James E. Goodall III, Sarah Day, Brittany Goodall, Tyler Goodall, Jessie Goodall, Megan Williamson, Cortney Goodall, Denny James Goodall and Summer Goodall.

Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2005, at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Elmwood cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. on Sunday and after 8:30 a.m. on Monday.

Robert Jackson Dowell

CLOVERPORT - Robert Jackson Dowell, 81, of Cloverport died Thursday, April 28, 2005, at Cypress Grove Rehabilitation in Newburgh, Ind. He worked for the city of Louisville as an accountant and was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two brothers, Dale Dowell and Hubert Dowell Jr.

Services: 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Rose Catholic Church. Burial: Old St. Rose cemetery. Visitation: From 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Wallace-Burns Funeral Home in Cloverport.

Annette Harrison Huff

BELTON - Annette Harrison Huff, 34, of 198 E. Mill Road, Belton, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. She was born Dec. 5, 1970, in Daviess County. She worked as a machine operator at Flynn Corp. and was a member of Pentecostal of Belton Church.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Huff of Belton; three sons, R.J. Hutchings, Rusty Harrison and Ricky Huff Jr., all of Belton; a stepson, Cody Huff of Drakesboro; a stepdaughter, Ashley Huff of Drakesboro; her parents, Kenneth and Gaela Harrison of Belton; a brother, Jimmy Harrison of Powderly; two sisters, Tammy Phelps of Belton and Sherry Harrison of Lewisburg; her grandmother, Catherine Charley of Oaktown, Ind.; several nieces and nephews; several aunts and uncles; and a great-nephew, Chandler Phelps.

Services are at 2 p.m. today, April 29, at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with the Rev. Mike Foster, assisted by the Rev. Mike Foster, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens in Powderly.

Ella Rebecca Tyson Campbell

GRAHAM - Ella Rebecca Tyson Campbell, 78, of 121 Bird Lane, Graham, died Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at 5:35 p.m. at her home after several months' illness. She was born Jan. 1, 1927, in Greenville the daughter of Hosiey Tyson and Betty Brown Tyson. She was of the Pentecostal faith and was a file clerk for Dr. Scholl's in Chicago before retiring. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Grover Clevland Campbell in 1966; a son, Tommy Ray Campbell in 2005; and a daughter, Betty Joyce Campbell Smith in 1994.

Survivors include a daughter, Ann Bivins of Greenville; four sons, Bobby Campbell of Graham, Benney Campbell of Chicago, Jerry Campbell of Greenville and Ronnie Campbell of Graham; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Groves of Graham.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville by the Rev. Terry Groves. Burial will be in Graham Hill cemetery in Graham. Visitation will be after 9 a.m. today at the funeral home.

James 'Jimmy' Bradshaw

James "Jimmy" Bradshaw, 61, of Hephzibah, Ga., formerly of Owensboro, died Tuesday, May 3, 2005. He was born on Dec. 30, 1944, to Venetius and Portia Bradshaw. Both parents preceded him in death. He retired from the United States Army.

He was a former member of Center Street Baptist Church, Owensboro. He was a member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Augusta, Ga., where he taught children's church.

Survivors include two sons, Dwayne Bradshaw of Evansville and Jerel Bradshaw of Owensboro; and one daughter, Meechy Bradshaw of Lithonia, Ga.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McFarland Funeral Home. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at McFarland Funeral Home.

Everett Raymond Matthews

FORDSVILLE - Everett Raymond Matthews, 83, of Fordsville died Thursday, April 28, 2005, at his son's home. He was born Sept. 24, 1921, in Ohio County and was a retired oil field worker and farmer. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Elizabeth Matthews; a son, Larry Joe Matthews; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Anne Matthews; and a brother, William F. Matthews.

Survivors include two sons, Everett Matthews Jr. and wife, Sandra, of St. Peters, Mo., and David G. Matthews and wife, Tami, of Fordsville; a daughter, Mary Juanita Ferry and husband, Roger, of Fordsville; three sisters, Allene Pulliam of Fordsville, Jesse Milokvic of Chicago and Elizabeth "Betsy" Cole of Hartford; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Pattiville, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today at Geary Funeral Home in Fordsville and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Adrian E. Rafferty
04/29/2005

Adrian E. Rafferty, 73, of 1332 W. Parrish Ave., Owensboro, died Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born on July 27, 1931, in Muhlenberg County to the late Ezra and Nancy (Woodson) Bruce. She was a member of Lewis Lane Baptist Church. She enjoyed arts and crafts and oil painting.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Walter "Buddy" Rafferty; a daughter, DeLee (Tony) Isbill of Tyler, Texas; two sons, Brent (Leah) Rafferty and Jeff Rafferty, both of Owensboro; five grandchildren, Genie (John) Stamper of Naples, Fla., Brian (Keri) Rafferty of Owensboro, Chad (Robyn) Rafferty of Hanover, Ind., and Clay Rafferty and Chelsea Rafferty, both of Owensboro; and three great-grandchildren.

Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, at James H. Davis Funeral Home chapel in Owensboro. Burial is in Pleasant Grove cemetery in Sorgho. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
