Rickey Wayne Farber

Rickey Wayne Farber, 43, died Oct. 27, 2004, at his home in Leavenworth, Ind. He was born in Louisville on Dec. 18, 1960. He was a native of Owensboro. He was a veteran and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Farber; and two daughters, Rachel, 11, and Rebecca, 9. He is also survived by his parents, Glover and Sandra Priar of Owensboro; two sisters, Bethany Priar Taylor of Owensboro and Stacey Priar Boynes of Sterling Va.; a niece and a nephew.
Visitation will be at the Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon, Ind., on Friday, Oct. 29, from 4 to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. Memorial services are at noon.
Vernon Leroy 'Freddie' Gorman

ROCKPORT, Ind. - Vernon Leroy "Freddie" Gorman, 80, of Rockport died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at his home. Freddie was born in Grandview, Ind., on Dec. 1, 1923, to the late Wallace and Evelyn Lucille (Thurman) Gorman. He was a welder for Lincoln Natural Gas, a World War II veteran, a member of the National Campers and Hikers Association and served as president of the Tell City chapter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Gorman, in 1986; and a brother, Cecil E. Gorman of Owensboro.
Surviving are a son, Edward Gorman of Boonville, Ind.; two brothers, Elmer J. Hall of Rockport and Tommy Hall of Tell City; four sisters, Alberta Rice of Rockport, Nila Jean Hall and Ruth Ellen Terry, both of Tell City, and Irma Fay Bryan of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; three grandchildren, Jeremy, Brian and Kyle Gorman; and a great-grandchild, Elijah Gorman.
Services are at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home, with Pastor Brian Gorman officiating. Burial with American Legion Post No. 254 graveside services will be in Sunset Hill cemetery in Rockport. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Justine Howard

Justine Howard, 88, of Whitesville died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at Leisure Years Nursing Home. She was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church and a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, gardening and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Oscar Howard, in September 1988; and a grandson, Jeff Dickens, on May 21, 1981.
Survivors include a daughter, Darlene Dickens of Whitesville; four sons, Gary C. and James D. Howard, both of Whitesville, Larry R. Howard of Philpot and Ronnie Howard of Knottsville; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Anita Howard of Knottsville and Evelyn Wilkerson of Owensboro.
Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery. Visitation will begin after 2 p.m. today and again after 9 a.m. Saturday at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville. Prayers will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
William Orville Rowland

CLOVERPORT - William Orville Rowland, 59, of Cloverport died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, in Frisco, Colo. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include two sisters, Nell Kaiser and Ann Rowland.
Graveside memorial services: 1 p.m. Sunday at Cloverport cemetery. Wallace Funeral Home in Cloverport is in charge of arrangements.
Thomas Melvin Payne

Thomas Melvin Payne, 47, of 736 Leitchfield Road, Owensboro, died at 10:28 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born Dec. 6, 1956, in Owensboro. He is currently walking and talking with the angels, something he never had the opportunity to do here on Earth. He was a member of the Catholic faith and enjoyed Charley Pride music. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles P. Payne.
Survivors include his mother, Carole Jean Payne of Owensboro; two brothers, Charles Haven Payne and Steve Payne, both of Owensboro; two sisters, Cheryl Ann Roberts and Kathryn Lynn Polites, both of Owensboro; and many, many nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom cared for him very much.
Services are at 11 a.m. Friday at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home chapel. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Pat Bittel will officiate.
Karen Northcutt Stewart

HENDERSON - Karen Northcutt Stewart, 39, of Henderson died at 5:20 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004. Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her father, Howard S. Northcutt, in 1979.
Survivors include a daughter, Jessicca P. Stewart of Henderson; a son, Ben Stewart of Henderson; her mother, Christine Northcutt of Corydon; two sisters, Betty Koerber of Henderson and Mrs. William R. (Debbie C.) Evans of Owensboro; two brothers, Marshall Northcutt and Mark Northcutt, both of Henderson; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Karen Northcutt Stewart will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at Tapp Funeral Home in Henderson. The Rev. R. Joseph Tricquet will officiate. Entombment will be in Fairmont Mausoleum. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until service time Thursday at Tapp Funeral Home. Memorial contributions for Karen Northcutt Stewart can be made to the Jessicca Stewart Special Fund at Independence Bank.
Lena Rose Medley

Lena Rose Medley, 68, of Louisville, formerly of Owensboro, died Monday, Oct. 25, 2004, at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville. She was the former Lena Rose Byrne, a native of Daviess County. She was a retired nurse from the old SS. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital and a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Louisville.
Survivors include a son, George M. Medley III; three daughters, Cathy McLauchlan and her husband Will, Theresa Rose Ulrich and her husband Don and Michelle Ann Nelson and her husband Scott; 15 grandchildren; two brothers, Martin Bryne and Stephen Bryne; and five sisters, Mary Ignatius Byrne, Mildred Dockemeyer, Martha Pendleton, Connie McKay and Stella Kaelin.
Services are at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Anthanasius Catholic Church, 5915 Outer Loop, Louisville. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road, Louisville. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Floyd W. Jones

Floyd W. Jones, 69, of 7671 Short Station Road, Philpot, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born on April 12, 1935, in Daviess County to the late Dodd and Gertrude (Hamilton) Jones. He was employed at Titan Contracting and was previously a dairy farmer. He was a member of Walnut Memorial Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. He had served in the Naval Reserve. He was an avid NASCAR and University of Kentucky basketball fan. He was preceded in death by a son, Floyd W. Jones Jr. in 1960; and by a brother, Roy Jones in 1996.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Anna Graham Jones; two sons, Jeff and wife Tammie Jones of Owensboro and Alex Jones of Philpot; two daughters, Kaye Jones and Tammy Duncan and husband Parrish, of Owensboro; grandchildren, Hannah, Caleb, Dedrick, Max and Makayla; and a sister, Nada Huntley of Henderson.
Services are 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at James H. Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Owensboro. Burial will be in Yellow Creek Baptist Church cemetery in Thruston. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Thursday at James H. Davis Funeral Home.
Sue Y. Hitchel

BEAVER DAM - Sue Y. Hitchel, age 66, was born on March 14, 1938, and died on Oct. 24, 2004, at Deaconess Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville. She served as the Ohio County Treasurer for 24 years. Her husband, Jerry L. Hitchel, preceded her in death in 1996. She was the daughter of the late C.T. and Mattie Young.
She is survived by three sons, Ben Hitchel and his wife Bekki of Houston, Joe Hitchel and Ted Hitchel, both of Bowling Green. Three grandchildren survive her, Kevin, Jodi and Sydney Hitchel. She is also survived by a sister, Connie Hoskins; and a brother, Robert Young.
A private memorial will be held on Saturday, Oct. 30. William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam is in charge of arrangements.
The family requests that memorial expressions be made to Loren Eicher for the medical expense of his son, Lonnie. Expressions of sympathy can be mailed to Loren Eicher, Route 3, Box 324, Loogootee, IN 47553.
Robert Louis Ellis

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. - Robert Louis Ellis, 74, of Jacksonville died Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004, at Onslow Memorial Hospital. A graveside service will be held on today at noon at Coastal Carolina State Veterans cemetery.
Mr. Ellis retired from the Navy after 27 years and was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Gail Crowley.
He is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Foreman of Jacksonville; two sons, Steven Edward Ellis of Wilmington, N.C., and Robert L. Ellis Jr. of Jacksonville; two sisters, Jean Heep and Totsie Farmer of Kentucky; and seven grandchildren.
Arrangements are by Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
Larry Joe Dickerson

HOPKINSVILLE - Larry Joe Dickerson, 65, of Greenville Road, Hopkinsville died at 7:44 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004, at his home after a long illness. He was born Nov. 28, 1938, in McLean County to Lige Dickerson and Hazel Irene Garst Dickerson Richardson. He retired from TVA Paradise Steam Plant.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Dickerson of Christian County; three sons, Larry Joe Dickerson of Livermore, Gerald Aldridge and Donnel Dickerson, both of Chrisitan County; four daughters, Sandy Williams, Trish Kassinger and Lisa Boyken, all of Livermore, and Aletha King of Christian County; a brother, David Lige Dickerson of Livermore; two sisters, Doris Kay Hillard and Peggy Arnold, both of Livermore; 19 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services are at 4 p.m. today at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home in Hopkinsville with the Rev. Darrell Dakin and Larry Shadowen. Burial will be in Judges Chapel Church cemetery.
