Margaret Virginia Brown

MONROVIA, Calif. - Margaret Virginia Brown, 76, of Monrovia passed away Sunday, Sept. 4, 2005, peacefully with her children at her side.

Margaret will be truly missed by her six children, a daughter, Susan (and Sam) Reynolds, sons Lloyd Thomas (and Patricia), Robert, James (and Riki), William and John Brown; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass is at 10 a.m. PDT today at Immaculate Conception Church in Monrovia. Douglass & Zook Mortuary Chapel in Monrovia is in charge of arrangements.

James Ralph Cobb

RUMSEY - James Ralph Cobb, 54, of 155 Liberty St., Rumsey, died Monday Sept. 5, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System. James Ralph Cobb was born June 19, 1951, at the Hamilton Air Force Base in California to James Richard and Margie Vanover Cobb. He worked as a measurement specialist for Texas Gas Transmissions Inc. in Slaughters for 29 years and also enjoyed riding motorcycles and fishing. He was preceded in death by his father, James Richard Cobb, who died on Oct. 10, 1975.

Survivors include a daughter, Cara Renee Cobb of California; his mother, Margie Cobb of Calhoun; a brother and his wife, David and Margie Cobb of Rumsey; and four nephews, David, Andy, Byron and Nick.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel, with the Rev. Ken Berggren officiating. Burial will be in the Calhoun cemetery. Friends may visit with the Cobb Family from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Thursday at Musters in Calhoun.

Mary F. (Schneider) Lincoln

BOONVILLE, Ind. - Mary F. Lincoln, 90, of Boonville, formerly of Rockport, Ind., died Sept. 5, 2005, at Baker's Nursing Home in Boonville. Mary was born in Evanston, Ind., on July 12, 1915, to the late Phillip and Ida Schneider. She lived most of her life in Rockport. She was a devout Catholic, was in the choir and worked in the cafeteria at St. Bernard Church in Rockport. At the time of her death, she was a member of St. Clement Church in Boonville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest L. Lincoln, in 1991, to whom she was married for 55 years; and a granddaughter, Lisa Gale Chapman in 1966. The family would like to express its appreciation to the staff of Baker's Nursing Home for the kindness and care given to Mary.

She is survived by two sons, James Lincoln of Boonville and Robert Lincoln and his wife, Janice, of Boonville; a daughter, Frances Jean Chapman and her husband, Virgil, of Owensboro; nine grandchildren, Keith Chapman, Carissa Roush, Leigh Ann McLevain, Jacalyn Downs, Terry Byers, Jim Lincoln II, Rachel Siver, Amy Patterson and Todd Lincoln; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services are at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Rockport, with Father Lowell Will and Father Edward Schneider officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery in Tell City. Prayer services are at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Clement Church Building Fund or Alzheimer's Association.

Russell Wayne Carwile

CLOVERPORT - Russell Wayne Carwile, 55, of Cloverport died Friday, Sept. 2, 2005, at his home.

Survivors include his mother, Maggie Carwile. He worked at Breckinridge Manor as a patient care aide.

Services: 2 p.m. today at Wallace-Burns Funeral Home in Cloverport. Burial: Big Spring cemetery. Visitation: After noon today at the funeral home.

Mary Jane Pruitt Willis
09/2004/2005

Mrs. Mary Jane Pruitt Willis, 75, of Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005. She was the widow of Larkin Willis Jr. and was a member of Robinson Community AME Church. She worked at Lazarus as a customer service representative.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharon E. (Billy) Wooten, Darlene W. (William) Barnett, Cordia J. Wilson and Lisa Y. Willis-Williams; a son, Barry L. (Wanda) Willis; sisters, Juanita (Thomas) Moorman and Magelean Leachman; 16 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

On Monday, Sept. 5, 2005, there will be visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. at Stuart Mortuary in Indianapolis. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, at Robinson Community AME Church, 4601 N. College Ave., Indianapolis. Interment will be at Washington Park North cemetery.

Perry L. Wright

Perry L. Wright, 56, of 2026 West 5th St., Owensboro, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, at his home. He was born on March 25, 1949, in Owensboro to Sylvester Wright and Dorothy Hancock Wright. He retired from Henry Heating & Air Conditioning and was a member of the Pentecostal faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl Wright, who died in 1995; his parents, Sylvester and Dorothy Hancock Wright; a sister, Donna Beard; and two brothers, Bobby Wright and Jesse Hancock.

Survivors include two daughters, Misty Johnson and her husband, Tony Johnson, and Kimberly Wright; six grandchildren, Felicia, Garrett, Alexis and Carly Johnson and Jady and Jacob Schroeder; two sisters, Mary Kinsey of South Carolina and Paula Boone of Greenville; and nine nieces and nephews, Becky Huggins, Marci Hughs, Mandy Bottin, Gory Lane, Sidney Lane, Penny Morris, Dorothy Boone, Leslie Boone and Ruby Boone.

Memorial services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home chapel in Owensboro, with the Rev. Sue Gaddis officiating. Visitation is after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Boulware Center Mission Inc., 731 Hall St., Owensboro, KY 42303.

Shirley Quiggins

CALHOUN - Shirley Quiggins, 58, of 1542 Kentucky 815, Calhoun, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System. Shirley Ann Scott was born Oct. 24, 1946, in Breckinridge County to the late Raymond and Vitula Royalty Scott and was later married to J.C. Quiggins on Nov. 24, 1963. She was a homemaker and a member of Calhoun Holiness Church. Shirley enjoyed cooking, attending her church, her special grandchildren and also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Shirley was preceded in death by a brother, George Scott; and by two sisters, Jackie Blair and Jan Searcy.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, J.C. Quiggins; a son and his wife, Richard L. and Shannon Quiggins of Rumsey; a daughter and her husband, Nancy and Michael Latham of Island; three grandchildren, Kent Quiggins, Savannah Nall and Parker Latham; three brothers, Gilbert Scott, Kenneth Scott and Larry Scott, all of Hudson; and a sister, Nancy Butler of Harned.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hudson Community Church, with the Rev. Harry Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Hudson cemetery. Friends may visit with the Quiggins family from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. The body will lie in state after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

The Quiggins family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Shirley Quiggins Memorial Fund, c/o Muster Funeral Homes, P.O. Box 160, Calhoun, KY 42327. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.

James Robert 'J.R.' Duvall

James Robert "J.R." Duvall, 84, of 813 Cedar St., Owensboro, died Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, at his daughter's home. He was born Nov. 19, 1920, in Atkins, Ark., retired from Duvall Roofing after 25 years and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II and had served in the South Pacific. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed horse races, painting, growing flowers and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Rebecca Ruth Duvall on Oct. 1, 2004; four brothers, Floyd Duvall, Lloyd Duvall, Earl Duvall and R.B. Duvall; a sister, Cora Ree Hutchinson; and his parents, Walter Duvall and Cordelia Venable Duvall.

Survivors include four daughters, Diana Cameron and her husband, Steve, of Mason City, Iowa, Susie Crowe and her husband, Denny, of Owensboro, Rosemary Duvall and David Geralds of Lexington and Cathy Carter of Owensboro; seven grandchildren, Michael and Laura Crowe, Lucie Duvall, Emily Carter, Dwayne and Elliott Carter and Patrick Cameron; 10 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Nora Lee Hibbs of Little Rock, Ark., Betty Lou Cliffton, Euleta Doddridge and Juanita Ferguson, all of Benton, Ark.; two brothers, Charles Lee Duvall of Titusville, Fla., and Kenneth Duvall of Fort Worth, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Riverview cemetery in Morgantown. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 8 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice Memorial Fund, 723 Harvard Drive, Owensboro, KY 42301. Envelopes available at the funeral home.

Patrick Henry Byrne

Patrick Henry Byrne, 82, of 329 E. 27th St., Owensboro, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, at his home. Mr. Byrne was a retired press operator for Whirlpool in Evansville and was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and playing cards. He was preceded in death by his son, William Patrick Byrne; and a grandson, Dennis Patrick Byrne.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Essie D. Brey Byrne; sons, Kenneth Ray Byrne and wife Delphine of Owensboro and Daniel Wayne Byrne and wife Sherry of Morris, Ill.; a daughter, Lisa West and husband David of Utica; a daughter-in-law, Claudia Byrne of Utica; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005, at 10 a.m. at Glenn Funeral Home chapel. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. Prayers will be said at 6 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Rosehill cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice.

Douglas Eugene Aders

CENTRAL CITY - Douglas Eugene Aders, 60, of Central City died Sunday, July 24, 2005, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. He was a truck driver and a member of Carter Creek Church.

Survivors include two sons, Mike Aders and Tim Miller; five daughters, Angie English, Teresa Rose, Melissa King, Gina Whitehouse and Kim Hunt; his mother, Clara Belle Hall; and three brothers, Jerry Aders, Gary Aders and Randy Aders.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial: Palestine cemetery in McCracken County. Visitation: From 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Erik Bennett

CENTRAL CITY - Erik Bennett, 31, of Central City died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, at Highway 70 near Madisonville. He was a lineman for Hendrix Electric Co. in Clay and was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Central City.

Survivors include a daughter, Erika D'Ann Bennett; his parents, Ben and Teresa Bennett; and two brothers, Michael Bennett and Chad Bennett.

Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial: Fairmount cemetery in Central City. Visitation: After 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions: Erika Bennett Trust Fund, c/o First National Bank, 130 West Broad St., Central City, KY 42330.

Bessie Lee Wade
10/25/2004

Bessie Lee Wade, 90, of 2769 Wayside Drive East, passed away Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Owensboro. Mrs. Wade was born March 29, 1914, to William Arnold Wade and Sallie Ann Taylor Wade in Owensboro. She was a member of Parrish Avenue Church of Christ and was retired from the Owensboro city school system as a cook from the Robert E. Lee School. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Denver C. Wade, in 1989; two sisters, Pearl Crabtree and Golda Kirkendoll; and two brothers, George Clifton Wade and Charlie Wade.

Survivors include three sons, Dan (Janet) Wade, Don (Dorothy) Wade and Bobby (Eva Joy) Wade, all of Rockport, Ind.; three daughters, Shirley (George) Woodason of Rosedale, Ind., Peggy (Carl) Powers of Evansville and Judy (Ernie) Casey of Lawrenceburg; 17 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro where hymns chosen by Mrs. Wade will be sung by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 25, and from 9 a.m. until services Tuesday at the funeral home. Internment will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mrs. Wade's grandsons: Jeff Casey of Schererville, Ind.; Mark Casey of Bowling Green; Carl Wade Powers of Evansville; David Wade of Newburgh, Ind.; Richard Woodason, Robert Woodason and Tom Woodason, all of Terre Haute, Ind.; John Woodason of Springfield, Ohio; Keith Woodason of Dalton, Ga.; and Jeff Wade of Murfreesboro, Tenn.
