Hewlett Hall
PRINCETON, Ky. — Hewlett Hall, 94, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Caldwell County Hospital.
He had been a farmer and was a member of the Blue Spring Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Joyce Gilkey of Caldwell County; three sons, Kenneth of Alton, Ill., and Lawrence and Lucien “Bob, ” both of Elizabethtown; a brother, Reginald of Cadiz; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. His wife, Mary (Larkins) died in 1998.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Morgan’s Funeral Home, with burial in Blue Spring Church cemetery.
J.C. Sizemore
SLAUGHTERS, Ky. — J.C. Sizemore, 73, died, Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Madisonville Regional Medical Center of complications of kidney failure.
He retired from Lee King Service Center in Owensboro. He was a member of Mount Gilead General Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy (McGee); a daughter, Marietta Taylor of Calhoun; a stepdaughter, Marilyn Roe of Burton, S.C.; a son, Terry Lee of Monon, Ind.; two stepson, Dennis Kirkman of Littleton, Colo., and Gerald Kirkman of Beaufort, S.C.; his mother, Yettie Husky Sizemore of Slaughters; a sister, Glenda Johnson of Chandler, Ind.; a brother, Jerald Sizemore of Evansville; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Tompkins Slaughters-Hanson Funeral Home, with burial in Slaughters cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 9:30 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Morene Michael
MADISONVILLE, Ky. — Morene Gipson Michael, 82, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, in Wayne, Mich. She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Surviving are four sons, Wayne and James Gipson, both of of Taylor, Mich., Doyle of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Coletta Ray of Westland, Mich.; two sisters, Anna Lee Dame and Loretta James, both of Madisonville; two brothers, William Gunn of Madisonville and George Gunn of Flint, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Her husband, Herman, died in 1975.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home, with burial in Grapevine cemetery.

James Easley
HENDERSON, Ky. — James E. Easley, 91, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at his home.
He retired as a farmer.
He was a member and sang in the choir at the St. Matthew’s C.M.E. Church in Cumberland City, Tenn.
Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Jacqueline (Gant); six daughters, Deborah Walker, Paulette Smith, Annette Saunders, Twana Easley and Margaret Smith, all of Henderson and Pauline Kendry of Indianapolis; three sisters, Mary Kizer of Erin, Tenn., Pauline Pachman of California, and Willine Austine of Dover, Tenn.; two brothers, William of California and the Rev. Bennie of Clarksville, Tenn.; and 23 grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at New Race Creek Baptist Church, with burial in Fernwood cemetery.

Margaret Bishop
HENDERSON, Ky. — Margaret Louise Bishop, 81, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at Methodist Hospital.
She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Janie Gibbs of Henderson and Judy Smith of Smith Mills; four sons, Dr. Donald of Plano, Texas, Glenn and Garry A., both of Henderson and Dr. Larry C. of Newburgh; a sister, Mary Frances Duncan of Henderson; a brother, Charles Blanford of Cairo; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Her husband, A.G., died in 1997.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, with burial in Smith Mills cemetery.

OWENSBORO, Ky. — Mary Marsh Newton, 75, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Hillcrest Health Care Center.
She had been a dietary aide at the Owensboro Daviess County Hospital. She was Baptist.
Surviving are a son, Robert Jr. of Owensboro; two sisters, Bertha Collier of Hammond, Ind., and Sarah Malin of Owensboro; a brother, Dudley of Owensboro; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at James H. Davis Funeral Home, with burial in Elmwood cemetery.

Cloyd Westfall
Marion, Ky. — Cloyd E. Westfall, 89, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Crittenden County Convalescent Center. He was a member of Marion Church of God.
Surviving are a stepdaughter, Sue Wring of Marion; two sons, Willard of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Millard of California; and 14 grandchildren.
His wife, Lillie, and a daughter, Eva Jean Westfall, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Gilbert Funeral Home, with burial in Salem cemetery.

OWENSBORO, Ky. — Mary Ellen Shadwick, 87, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Hermitage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was a member of the Dawson Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Jeanette Conder of Owensboro; a son, Robert L. Jr. of Owensboro; two sisters, Susie Colbert and Margaret Brooks, both of Owensboro; three brothers, M.C. Miller of Elburn, Ill., Bobby Miller of Indianapolis and William L. Miller of Norwalk, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Robert L. and a son, Benny, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at James H. Davis Funeral Home, with burial in Rosehill cemetery.

MORGANFIELD, Ky. — The Rev. George Cartwright, 95, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.
Surviving are two daughters, Jane Goatley Melbourne, Fla., and Beverly Hairston of Paducah; six grandchildren, Steve, Bob and Tom Goatley, Lou Ann and Jeff Hairston and Mary Jane Tyler; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Services will be at 3 p.m.. Saturday at Whitsell Funeral Home, with burial in Odd Fellows cemetery.

Gerald Jones
PRINCETON, Ky. — Gerald Jones, 58, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at Caldwell County Hospital.
He was a farmer and a veteran of the Army reserves.
He was a member of White Sulphur Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Martha; two daughters, Laura McKinney and Dana Cummins, both of Caldwell County; two sisters, Judy George and Jewell Forsythe, both of Caldwell County; a brother, Joe Jones of Caldwell County; three grandchildren, Audree and Tabor Cummins and Bryce McKinney; and nieces and a nephew.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Morgan’s Funeral Home, with burial in Meeks cemetery.
Ida Hicks
LIVERMORE, Ky. — Ida Fulkerson Hicks, 84, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at the Owensboro Mercy Health System.
She was a member of the Richland Baptist Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Bonnie Fulkerson, Jean Burden, Mary Ann Hicks, all of Livermore, and Martha Howard of Calhoun; five sons, Doug, Hub, W.E., Charles and Mike, all of Livermore; 16 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.
Her husband, Orville, and a daughter, Lona, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Muster Funeral Home, with burial in Pleasant Hope cemetery.

Melvin Wadlington
MADISONVILLE, Ky. — Melvin O. Wadlington, 79, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at Madisonville Regional Medical Center of scleroderma.
He operated Wadlington's Cafe for 37 years and had owned Chateau Park from 1933 to 1989.
He was a World War II Navy veteran.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Nina (Holley); a daughter, Cindy L. Luck of Hanson; two sons, Harry of Manitou and Holley of Madisonville; a sister, Juanita Badgett of Madisonville; five grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church, with burial in Odd Fellows cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to noon at Harris Funeral Home and from 1 p.m. to service time at the church.
