Robert Powell
HENDERSON, Ky. — Robert W. Powell, 83, of Little Dixie, died Sunday, April 23, 2000, at Methodist Hospital.
He was a World War II Army veteran and member of the American Legion Post 40.
He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Judy Myers of Little Dixie; a brother, James Humphrey Powell of Little Dixie; a granddaughter, Jama Myers; and a niece and a nephew.
His wife, Agnes Lorene, died in 1989.
Services will be at noon Wednesday at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, with burial in Fairmont cemetery, with military rites.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Tapp Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 6 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony Hospice.
Lowell Jacobs
HENDERSON, Ky. — Lowell L. Jacobs, 75, died Monday, April 24, 2000, at his home of cancer.
He had worked for Gulf Chemical and Eaton Axle.
He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.
He was a member of First Christian Church and a 50-year member of Masonic Lodge 9.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Ruth (Mills); a son, Bradley L. of Greensboro, N.C.; two sisters, Barbara Hicks and Doris Cohron, both of Henderson; a brother, Volney of Henderson; two granddaughters; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, with burial in Fairmont cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

George Smith
MADISONVILLE, Ky. — George Wallace Smith, 61, died Sunday, April 23, 2000, at Mercy Hospital in Philadelphia of cancer.
He was a brakeman and conductor for the CSX Railroad for 37 years.
He was Methodist.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Sandra of Madisonville; a daughter, Susanne Siria of Madisonville; five sisters, Jewell Rhoades, Sarah Bean, Fronie Maddern and Barbara Fuller, all of Madisonville, and Katherine Payne of Nortonville; a brother, Walter of Madisonville; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home, with burial in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from noon to service time at the funeral home.

Paul Robertson
HENDERSON, Ky. — Paul “Popeye” Robertson, 69, died Sunday, April 23, 2000, at his home. He was under hospice care.
He retired from Gamco.
He was a Korean War Army veteran.
He attended the East End Tabernacle in Henderson.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Virginia; five daughters, Kay Milbrath and Joy Smith, both of Kingwood, W.Va., and Cheri Skaggs, Lynn Skaggs and Virginia “Sissy” Robertson, all of Henderson; a son, Paul Jr. of Gardner, Pa.; three sisters, Anna Mae and Katherine Fringer, both of Westminster, Md.; and Helen Hankert of Hanover, Pa.; two brothers, Maurice of Westminster and Melvin of Waynesboro, Pa.; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are pending at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home.
Nettie Marvin
LIVERMORE, Ky. — Nettie Jo Marvin, 66, died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at Owensboro Mercy Health System of an apparent heart attack.
She was the former owner and operator of M&W; Upholstery in Livermore.
She was a member of the Livermore United Methodist Church.
Surviving is her companion, Barbara Patterson; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Muster Funeral Home, with burial in Oak Hill cemetery.

HENDER-SON, Ky. — William Joe “Bobby” Davis, 58, died Friday, March 3, 2000, at Methodist Hospital of heart compli-
cations.
He was a member of Victory Christian Center.
Surviving are his companion, Donna Davis of Henderson; three daughters, April Hale-Davis of Joplin, Mo., and Angela Dill and Jane Ann Hashfield, both of Henderson; two stepdaughters, Elizabeth Hess and Tammy Bullock, both of Henderson; three sons, Willie of Henderson, Edward of Oklahoma City and Tracy of Tulsa, Okla.; a stepson, Bobby Hashfield of Henderson; his mother, Ada Mae Davis of Henderson; his foster mother, Elizabeth “Rose” Jenkins of Henderson; a sister, Wilma Howard of Henderson; three brothers, Larry Wilson of Henderson, Arthur J. Davis Jr. of Poseyville, Ind., and Roger Dale Davis of Robards; 19 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

HENDERSON, Ky. — Katheryn Langston Magiera, 90, died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at Methodist Hospital.
She was a retired manager of the Audubon School and Jefferson School cafeterias.
Surviving are a daughter, Evelyn Hargis of Henderson; a son, C.V. Langston of Henderson; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She and her husband owned and operated Fernwood Floral Co. from 1938 to 1980.
Surviving are a daughter, Sandra Hiett of Henderson; a son, Pete of Henderson; a sister, Eleanor Burdge of Henderson; a brother, Maurice Jones of Evansville; three grandchildren; give great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Pete, died in 1989.

SLAUGHTERS, Ky. — E.P. “Pete” Higgins, 89, died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at Senior Citizens Nursing Home in Madisonville.
He was a retired farmer.
He was Baptist and a Kentucky Colonel.
Surviving are a daughter, Donna Henry of Springfield, Tenn.; a son, Bob of Hanson; a sister, Anna Lou Booth of Albia, Iowa; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
His wife, Sarah (Springfield), died in 1990.

MADISONVILLE, Ky. — Elizabeth Toombs, 98, died Friday, March 3, 2000, at Regional Medical Center.
She was a teacher and principal in Madisonville schools for 47 years, retiring in 1967.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home, with burial in Odd Fellows cemetery.
