Beatrice Welch
REED — Beatrice “Bea” Welch, 86, died Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.
She was a member of the Beals Pentecostal Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Darlene Locher of Reed and Shirley Hearn Powers of Hawesville; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Ray, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Fuller Funeral Home Dale (Ind.) Chapel, with burial in Garden of Memory cemetery in Gentryville, Ind.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Mary Vincent
EARLINGTON — Mary Evelyn Riley Vincent, 80, of Beulah, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at National Health Care Nursing Home in Madisonville.
She had worked as a seamstress at the Enro Shirt Factory and was a member of the Richland Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, of 58 years, Ruby W., of Beulah; two sons, Barry W. of Nashville, Tenn., and Ronnie L. of Beulah; a sister, Lois Swope of Memphis, Tenn.; four brothers, Marvin and Earl, both of Madisonville, Burney of Eddyville and Randle of Dalton; three grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Reid-Walters Funeral Home, with burial in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Madisonville.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

John Huffman
LIVERMORE — John R. Huffman, 60, died Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at Owensboro Mercy Health System of a heart attack.
He was accounting manager for Peabody Coal Co.
He was a graduate of Brescia College.
He was Baptist and a member of Ducks Unlimited and the Murphy Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.
Surviving are his wife, Shelby D.; two daughters, Tracy L. Noffsinger of Greenville and Dr. LeAnn Huffman of Toledo, Ohio; a son, Dustin Colburn of Livermore; a stepson, Bennie R. Woodburn of Sacramento; his parents, Hubert and Elizabeth Huffman of Owensboro; two sisters, Bonnie Hernon of Martin, Tenn., and Vicky Wallace of Owensboro; three brothers, Bobby of Boonville, Ind., Danny of Owensboro and Ricky of Evansville; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Johnnie Ray, in 1967.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home in Owensboro, with burial in Elmwood cemetery in Owensboro.

Bertha Dickerson
LIVERMORE — Bertha “Sis” Dickerson, 74, died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, at Owensboro Mercy Health System of congestive heart failure.
She was a member of the Livermore General Baptist Church, McLean County Senior Citizens and Golden Partners.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, David L.; a son, Dale Ray of Livermore; five sisters, Lucille McCoy of Heflin, Juanita Kassinger of Island and Nadine Baldwin, Joyce Willis and Judy Kassinger, all of Livermore; three brothers, Theodore and Winfred Davis, both of Livermore and John Davis of Bloomington, Ind.; and a grandchild.
A son, David C., died in 1999.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Green River Memorial Gardens.

Earl Basham
HAWESVILLE — Earl W. Basham, 79, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at Owensboro Mercy Health System of complications of a stroke.
He was the owner and founder of the Riverview Motel and Restaurant in Hawesville.
He was a member of the Hawesville Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Marcella P.; a son, Terry of Owensboro; a sister, Gertrude Snyder of Hawesville; two grandchildren, Stacy M. and Scott C. Basham; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Hawesville Baptist Church, with burial in Serenity Hills.

Carrie Adams
MADISONVILLE — Carrie Ann Adams, 76, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at Owensboro Mercy Health Care Service of cancer.
She was superintendent of the children’s Sunday school and member of the Upper Room Sunday School Class at the First Methodist Church in Earlington.
She graduated with honors from Madisonville High School and was a member of the Daughters of the Nile.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Ashby of Madisonville; a stepsister, Edith Troop of Madisonville; a stepbrother, Basil Roberts of Nashville, Tenn.; a grandson, Bradley K. Ashby; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home, with burial in Odd Fellows cemetery.

Charles Duskey
STURGIS — Charles R. Duskey, 91, died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, at The Manor Convalescent Hospital in Las Vegas.
Surviving are a son, Richard Carr Duskey of Las Vegas; a granddaughter, Dawn Michelle Hildebrand; and a great-granddaughter.
His wife, Barbara “Bob” (Carr), died in 1996.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Whitsell Funeral Home, with burial in Pythian Ridge cemetery.

Horace Boggess
MANITOU — Horace L. Boggess, 70, died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, at Madisonville Regional Medical Center of complications of a stroke.
He retired in 1982 from the auto dealership he operated in Madisonville.
He was a Realtor for Century 21, an auctioneer and farmer.
He was deacon, taught the Fox Sunday School Class and served on the property committee for the First Baptist Church.
He was a 48-year member, had been president and served in all offices of the Lions Club.
He was a life patron of the Lion’s Eye Foundation.
He was honored as Lion of the year in 1989 and received the International President Certificate of Appreciation for his service to the Lion’s Club International and the local Lion’s Club.
In 1990, he was the recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellow Award.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Elynor; a daughter, Lynn Ann Waddle of Elizabethtown; a son, Bruce of Madisonville; his mother, Erma Boggess of Madisonville; two brothers, Norman of Madisonville and Darrell of Bloomington, Ind.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church, with burial in Odd Fellows cemetery.
