Mabel Wiggins

BEECH GROVE - Mabel R. Wiggins, 77, died Monday, July 30, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System of congestive heart failure.

She retired from the former Charles Chip factory in Calhoun, was a 1942 graduate of Beech Grove High School and member of Beech Grove Christian Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Shelia Stewart of Beech Grove and Becky Stratton of Sebree; a son, Rick of Beech Grove; a brother, Robert 'Sonny' Riggs of Beechmont; and three grandchildren. Her husband, Alfred N., died in 1989.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Muster Funeral Homes Calhoun Chapel, with burial in Bethel Baptist cemetery in McLean County.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church building fund.

Billy Byrd

MADISONVILLE - Billy M. Byrd, 79, died Sunday, July 29, 2001, at Madisonville Regional Medical Center.

He retired as a railroad engineer and was an engineer with the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum.

He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in Germany with the occupational forces, and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5480.

He was a member of Madisonville First United Methodist Church, the Masons, Rizpah Shrine Temple and Commandry Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers Division 742.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra Lee of Madisonville; three daughters, Carole Beeny of Mount Juliet, Tenn., and Sandy Keown and Wanda Sue Parks, both of Madisonville; a stepdaughter, Heather Marie Eggers of Smyrna, Ga.; a sister, Dorothy Coppedge of Clarksville, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

His first wife, Jean Audrey (MacKenzie), died in 1996.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home, with burial in West Lawn cemetery, with Masonic and military rites.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to his church.

Imogene VanCleve

HENDERSON - Imogene 'Jean' VanCleve, 75, died Saturday, July 28, 2001, at Methodist Hospital of a heart attack.

She was a member of Bennett Memorial Methodist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Vicki Clement and Pamela J. VanCleve, both of Henderson; two sisters, Lillian Bea Blaner and Virginia Conrad, both of Henderson; and a grandson, Corey Clement.

Her husband, Bernie D., died in 1982.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Tapp Funeral Home, with burial in Fairmont cemetery.

Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Henderson Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.

Raymond Madison

MADISONVILLE - Raymond Eldon 'Ray' Madison, 59, died Tuesday, July 24, 2001, at Mount Whitney Outpost Camp in Long Pine, Calif., of acute coronary thrombosis.

He was a retired captain of the Madisonville Fire Department, having served from 1974 to 1994; a Kentucky technical rescue instructor from 1979 to 2000; and the director of Disaster and Emergency Services from 1994 to 1998.

He was a former member of the Masons and was appointed a Kentucky Colonel in 1992.

He was a Vietnam War Army veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Vivian Elizabeth Dunning Madison; a daughter, Elizabeth 'Nikki' Oglesby of Madisonville; two sons, Michael Ray and Clinton David Madison, both of Madisonville; three sisters, Vada May Clayton and Doris Kay Morehead, both of Madisonville and Peggy Ann Lancaster of Evansville; three brothers, Marshall Duane 'Duke' Madison of Madisonville and Larry David and Paul Michael Madison, both of Evansville; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Harris Funeral Home, with burial in Odd Fellows cemetery, with military rites.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

James Jackson

PRINCETON - James Densil Jackson, 48, died Saturday, July 28, 2001, at Caldwell County Hospital of an apparent heart attack.

He was a member of Gospel Temple Pentecostal Church.

Surviving are his wife, Gail Vennett Jackson; a son, James Allen Jackson; two sisters, Linda Cooper and Barbara Brown, both of Princeton; two brothers, Larry and Jerry Jackson, both of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Barton Jackson, in 1987.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Morgan's Funeral Home, with burial in Cedar Hill cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

William Oldham

MADISONVILLE - William Marion 'Bill' Oldham, 80, died Saturday, July 28, 2001, at Regional Medical Center.

He retired as a diesel mechanic from Peabody's Gibraltar Mine.

He was a member of the Madisonville Masonic Lodge 143 F&AM; and Madisonville First Baptist Church.

He was a World War II Army veteran and served in the Pacific Theater with the 52nd Signal Battalion.

Surviving are his wife, Ethel Swain Oldham; two nieces and four nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Harris Funeral Home, with burial in Grapevine cemetery, with military rites.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

J. B. Moore

MADISONVILLE - J. B. Moore, 90, died Friday, July 27, 2001, at Regional Medical Center.

He graduated from Madi-sonville High School, where he was an outstanding athlete and football player, and from the University of Missouri, where he received his doctor of pharmacy degree.

He was the retired owner and operator of Moore's Rexall Drugs. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He was a member of Madisonville First United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a niece and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lucile Kiel Hammack Moore, in 1997.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home, with burial in Odd Fellows cemetery, with military rites.

Friends may call from noon to service time at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Glema Mahr Fine Arts Center J B Moore Fund.

Marie Kruse

HENDERSON - Marie C. Kruse, 96, died Thursday, July 26, 2001, at Methodist Hospital.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Marian Kruse of Henderson, Evelyn Coleman of Brentwood, Mo., and JoAnne Ochsner of Evansville; two sons, Alvin J. Kruse Jr. of Hawesville and George Kruse of Van Nuys, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin J. Kruse, in 1975.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, with burial in Fairmont cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9:30 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church.

Evelyn Homier

CLAY - Evelyn Joyce Homier, 79, formerly of Clay, died Thursday, July 26, 2001, at New Horizons Adult Living Center in Port Charlotte, Fla., of cancer.

She was an opera singer and a legal stenographer.

She was a member of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are a sister, Jacqueline H. Robertson of Punta Gorda, Fla.; and nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Odd Fellows cemetery.

There will be no visitation at Vanover Funeral Home.

Infants Daylon Matthew and Dillon Alexander Margelot

HENDERSON - Infants Daylon Matthew and Dillon Alexander Margelot, the twin sons of Leslie and Ernie Margelot IV, were stillborn Thursday, July 26, 2001, at the Women's Hospital in Newburgh, Ind.

Also surviving are their grandparents, Brenda and Ernie Margelot III of Sebree and Tony and Debbie Bullock of Henderson; and great-grandparents, Louise Goodley of Henderson, Joann and Byron Bullock of Evansville, Dalton Brack of Michigan and Beatrice and Ernest Margelot Jr. of Hanover, Pa.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

There will be no visitation at Tompkins Funeral Home Sebree-Poole Chapel.
