BREMEN - Judith Lane Jones, 49, of Bremen died Thursday, April 15, 1999, at her home. She was born in Muhlenberg County, was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Bremen and was a housewife. She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Jones, in 1990.

Survivors include her husband, Halbert E. "Joe" Jones; a daughter, Kimberly Geary of Bremen; two grandchildren; her parents, Harold and Willie Lee Mercer of Bremen; and two sisters, Kathy Saddler and Angie Wyatt, both of Bremen.

Services are at 1 p.m. today at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Mount Pisgah cemetery in Bremen. Visitation is after 8 a.m. today at the funeral home.

Connie Joan Nance
2 April 1999

Connie Joan Nance, 52, of 3313 Ridgewood St., Owensboro, died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at her home. She was born in Whiting, Ind., was a personal home health care giver for 30 years and was of the Baptist denomination.

Survivors include a daughter, Tanya Nance of Owensboro; one grandchild; her mother, Venilee Nance of Owensboro; and two brothers, Dennis Nance of Owensboro and Danny Nance of Hammond, Ind.

Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Sunnyside cemetery in Beaver Dam. Visitation is after noon Saturday at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society, Daviess County Unit, 701 Muhammad Ali Blvd., Louisville, KY 40203. Memorial contribution envelopes are available at the funeral home.

William 'Sonny' Shock
25 April 1999

William Leslie "Sonny" Shock, 52, of 832 Moreland St., Owensboro, died Friday, April 23, 1999, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. He was born in Daviess County and retired as a carpenter for Alvey Bros. Lumber Co. in 1990. He attended Phillips Chapel Worship Center and enjoyed crafts, fishing, hunting, making knives and Indian arts.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Angela Gail Shock; four daughters, Janice Kaye Kirk, Blanche Elouise "Trixie" Evans and Krystal Dawn Shock, all of Owensboro, and Beverly Gregory of Louisville; eight grandchildren; his mother, Pattie Shock of Owensboro; a brother, Daniel Shock of Owensboro; and two sisters, Regina Tong and Lisa Owens, both of Owensboro.

Services are at 1 p.m. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Burial will be in Pellville cemetery. Visitation is from noon to 6 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Ruby L. 'Dixie' Wilhite
5 April 1999

Ruby L. "Dixie" Wilhite, 87, of 1246 Castlewood Place, Owensboro, died Sunday, April 4, 1999, at her home. She was born in Hancock County and retired from American Tobacco Co. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Que Huff; and her second husband, Orville Wilhite.

Survivors include a son, Jerry Lee Huff of Evansville; two daughters, Joan Edge and Marlene Conner, both of Owensboro; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.

Services are at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel in Owensboro. Entombment will be in Resurrection cemetery Mausoleum in Philpot. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice Association of Owensboro, 723 Harvard Drive, Owensboro, KY 42301. Memorial contribution envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Sherry L. Taylor
4 April 1999

Sherry L. Taylor, 38, of 1296 Buford Road, Utica, died Friday, April 2, 1999, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. She was born in Ohio County and was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church. She was employed at Owensboro Mercy Heath System in the radiology department and enjoyed gardening, flowers and her family.

Survivors include her son, Brandon Taylor, and his father, Rodney Taylor.

Services are at 7 p.m. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Sherry Taylor Memorial Fund; C/O Glenn Funeral Home; 900 Hartford Road; Owensboro, KY 42303. Wilford 'Shorty' Brown
12 April 1999

Wilford Lee "Shorty" Brown, 71, of 5005 Grandview Drive, Owensboro, died Sunday, April 11, 1999, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. He was born in Logan County, retired from General Motors in Pontiac, Mich., and was of the Baptist denomination. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, where he received the Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Star and the United Nations Service Medal. He enjoyed playing bingo. His wife, Evelyn Brown, died Nov. 25, 1994.

Survivors include three stepdaughters, Jeannie Mackham of Sorento, Ill., Judy Owen of Hillsboro, Ill., and Marie McCall of Highland, Ill.; several stepgrandchildren; a brother, Buster Brown of Pontiac; a sister, Linda Gaddis of Owensboro; and several nephews and nieces.

Services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Lewisburg cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Tammy Renea McKinney
21 April 1999

Tammy Renea McKinney, 30, of 7999 Kentucky 144, Philpot, died Monday, April 19, 1999, at her home. She was born in Daviess County and was of the Pentecostal denomination.

Survivors include her companion, John Spalding; a daughter, Courtney Jones at home; her father and stepmother, Daniel and Geraldine Jones of Owensboro; her mother, Janet Thomas of Owensboro; a brother, Daniel Jones Jr. of Owensboro; a sister, Tina Jones of Owensboro; two half sisters, Sara Jones and Melissa Smith, both of Owensboro; three stepbrothers, Scott Cline, Wayne Cline and Brian Cline, all of Owensboro; and a stepsister, Shannon Murphy of Owensboro.

Services are at 3 p.m. today at James H. Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Owensboro. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove cemetery in Sorgho. Visitation is after 10 a.m. today at the funeral home.

Charles W. Mills
3 April 1999

Charles William "Charlie Bill" Mills, 51, of Owensboro died Thursday, April 1, 1999, at the home of his aunt in Owensboro. He was born in Whitesville, was of the Catholic denomination and was a disabled veteran.

Survivors include a brother, Johnny Mills of Whiting, Ind.; a sister, Beverly Schoon of Lowell, Ind., several nephews and nieces; several uncles and aunts; and many cousins.

Services are are 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Whitesville. Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery in Whitesville. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday at Cecil's Funeral Home in Whitesville. Prayers will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Hospice Association. Memorial contribution envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Gerald Vanover
20 April 1999

Gerald Vanover, 59, of Utica died Sunday, April 18, 1999, at his home. He was born in Daviess County and was a farmer. He was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Windy Hollow and was a board member of the Moseleyville Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and NASCAR racing.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Nancy Abney Vanover; three sons, Dennis R. Vanover, Mitch Vanover and Pat Vanover, all of Utica; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Donald Vanover of Calhoun and Gene Vanover of Owensboro; and a sister, Rita Yewell of Owensboro.

Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in Calhoun cemetery. Visitation is after 4 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice Association Inc., c/o Muster Funeral Homes, P.O. Box 160, Calhoun, KY 42327. Stephen Otto Cain
20 April 1999

SEYMOUR, Tenn. - Stephen Otto Cain, 48, of Seymour died Sunday, April 18, 1999, at his home after a brief illness. He was born in Owensboro.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Margaret Brooks Cain; three sons, Steve Cain of Colorado, Chris Cain of Sevierville, Tenn., and Chad Cain at home; two daughters, Tracy Rhodes and Barbie Cain, both at home; five grandchildren; a brother, Bernie Cain of Three Rivers, Mich.; and two sisters, Sheila Murphy and Denise Murphy, both of Owensboro.

Services are at 3:30 p.m. EDT today at Highland South Funeral Home in Knoxville, Tenn. Burial will be in Highland South cemetery in Knoxville. Visitation is after 2 p.m. EDT today at the funeral home.

Kenneth Scott Cambron
10 April 1999

Kenneth Scott Cambron, 20, of Lewisport died Thursday, April 8, 1999, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. He was born in Owensboro and graduated from Hancock County High School in 1997. He was a member of Lewisport Baptist Church and was employed at Southwire Rod & Cable in Hawesville.

Survivors include his wife, Crystal Cambron; a daughter, Jennah Sky Cambron at home; his parents, Jim and Ann Cambron of Lewisport; his grandmother, Juanita Noble of Owensboro; and a brother, Keith Cambron of Lewisport.

Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lewisport Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Lewisport cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Taylor-Raymond Spear Funeral Home in Lewisport. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to either the Lewisport Baptist Church Building Fund or Union Baptist Church. Anna Marie Fulkerson
1 May 1999

Anna Marie Fulkerson, 57, of 3316 Jefferson St., Owensboro, died Friday, April 30, 1999, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. She was born in Daviess County and retired from Daviess County Hospital. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Joseph William Fulkerson; three sons, Christopher Allen Fulkerson of Las Vegas, Timothy Layne Fulkerson of Owensboro and Kevin Fulkerson of Philpot; four daughters, Renata Winchell of Philpot, Emila Cremer of Masonville, Anissa Jo Skaggs of Pleasant Ridge and Kathy Fulkerson of Lexington; 17 grandchildren; her father, Zeffie Lee Crabtree of Owensboro; three brothers, Dennis Crabtree of Mississippi, Darrell Crabtree of Pellville and Ed Crabtree of Knottsville; and a sister, Darlene Lindsey of Pellville.

Services are at 2 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes in Owensboro. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Prayers will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
