Willie Mae Mundy
31 October 1999

HAWESVILLE -- Willie Mae Mundy, 90, formerly of Hawesville, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, at Heartland Villa in Lewisport. She was born in Daviess County and was a member of Ross Chapel United Methodist Church in Hawesville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Mundy Sr., in 1974.

Survivors include five sons, Owen Mundy Jr. of Bangor, Maine, Leroy Mundy of Jacksonville, N.C., John Mundy and Albert Mundy, both of Lewisport, and Milton Mundy of Prospect; four daughters, Mary Davidson and Catherine Acton, both of Owensboro, Ruby Hemphill of Buffalo, N.Y., and Mabel Johnson of Lewisport; 31 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are pending at Gibson & Son Funeral Home in Hawesville.

Myrtle Vick
31 October 1999

GREENVILLE -- Myrtle Vick, 84, of Lawrenceville, Ga., died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999, at her home. She was born in Muhlenberg County and moved to Georgia on Aug. 1. She was a member of New Cypress Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Vick, in 1990.

Survivors include a son, Rodney Vick of Lawrenceville; four grandchildren; and three sisters, Jean Boling of Greenville, Lucy Jarvis of Hammond, Ind., and Adie Jarvis of Chicago.

Services are at 1 p.m. Monday at Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will be in New Cypress cemetery near Greenville. Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ruthie Mae Willoughby
31 October 1999

BEECHMONT -- Ruthie Mae Willoughby, 72, of Browder died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999, at her daughter's home in Browder. She was born in Muhlenberg County and was a homemaker. She was of the Holiness denomination.

Survivors include a son, Ricky Willoughby of Drakesboro; two daughters, Judy Jarvis of Browder and Glenda Huff of Gallatin, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roy Flewallen and Bobby Flewallen, both of Russellville; and a sister, Dean Steed of Drakesboro.

Services are at 1 p.m. Monday at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home. Burial will be in Forest Grove cemetery in Browder. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Palmer Aud
1 November 1999

Palmer Aud, 76, of Whitesville died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. He was born in Whitesville and was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Whitesville. He had worked the family farm all his life and was a partner in Hagan Aud Used Cars in Owensboro. He was active in local and state elections. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, fabricating tools and improving equipment for the farm and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Pauline Dickens "Dunnie" Aud; three sons, Jack S. Aud of Lewisport, Burl E. Aud of Whitesville and Bryn K. Aud of Fordsville; five daughters, Alzena V. Payne, Medra D. Wilkerson, Lowan J. Mattingly and Tenna L. Howard, all of Whitesville, and Tessa R. Alvey of Owensboro; 17 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a stepgreat-granddaughter; four brothers, John W. "Bud" Aud of Owensboro, James Aud, Jay Aud and Wendell Aud, all of Whitesville; and five sisters, Ruth Cecil of Louisville; Lillian Hagan, Jean Ann Rearden, Florence McDaniel and Alice Howard, all of Whitesville.

Services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Whitesville. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery in Whitesville. Visitation is after 1 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Tuesday at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville. Prayers will be said at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Jolene Bennett
1 November 1999

Jolene Bennett, 21, of 722 Plum St., Owensboro, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, in Owensboro. She was born in Daviess County and was a homemaker. She was a member of Parrish Avenue Baptist Church in Owensboro, graduated from Owensboro High School and enjoyed poetry and working with disadvantaged children.

Survivors include three sons, Landen Blake Payne, Matthew Chandler Payne, and Wesley Tanner Payne, all at home; her father, William G. Bennett; her mother, Dana Baxter of Owensboro; a brother, Jerry Reid of Owensboro; three sisters, Kim Reid, Kathy Reid and Dina Bennett, all of Owensboro; several uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces; and her companion, John Payne of Owensboro.

Services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery in Philpot. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Jolene Bennett Memorial Fund. Memorial contribution envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Curtis G. 'Curtie' Humphrey
1 November 1999

LIVERMORE -- Curtis G. "Curtie" Humphrey, 45, of Livermore died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, at his home. He was born in McLean County, was a farmer and a driver and co-owner of CNC Trucking of Livermore. He was a retired National Guardsman and a member of Livermore Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed the outdoors through hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Vickie Sartain Humphrey; two daughters, Rachel Humphrey and Erin L. Humphrey Price, both of Livermore; two stepsons, Richard Popowczak and Michael Popowczak, both of Chicago; his mother, Ruth Taylor Humphrey of Livermore; four grandchildren; two brothers, Carl Humphrey and Lester Humphrey, both of Livermore; two sisters, Ella Jean Cox and Nadine Jennings, both of Livermore; and several nephews and nieces.

Services are at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel. Burial will be in the Green River Memorial Gardens in Livermore. Visitation is after 4 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Green River Hospice, c/o Muster Funeral Homes, P.O. Box 228, Livermore, KY 42352. Memorial contribution envelopes are available at the funeral home.

John T. Troutman
10 November 1999

John T. Troutman, 65, of Utica died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. He was born in McLean County, was employed with Carpenters & Joiners Union Local No. 549 and was a member of Buck Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Rosalie Troutman; two sons, Alpha Gene Troutman of Louisville and Billy M. Troutman of Owensboro; two daughters, Debbie Troutman and Patricia Sutherland, both of Utica; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; and a brother, David Lynn Troutman of Owensboro.

Services are at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel in Owensboro. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Robert G. Brooks
8 November 1999

Robert G. Brooks, 73, of 1202 Independence Ave., Owensboro, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. He was born in Daviess County, retired from Thompson Homes as a carpenter and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of American Legion James L. Yates Post 9 and VFW Post 696. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Carter Brooks; two sons, Robert E. Brooks of Owensboro and Michael W. Brooks of Sorgho; three daughters, Peggy Dennis of Panther, Debbie Elliot of Mayfield and Pamela Pickney of Owensboro; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-stepgrandchild.

Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Nancy Brown
8 November 1999

CENTRAL CITY -- Nancy Brown, 85, of Central City died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital. She was born in Muhlenberg County, was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Central City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Noble Brown.

Survivors include two brothers, Earl Griffith of Connersville, Ind., and L.W. Griffith of Elgin, Ill.; three sisters, Clara Bradley and Virginia Brummett, both of Central City, and Mary Adams of Evansville; and several nephews and nieces.

Services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery in Central City. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Fairy Mae Garrett
11 November 1999

DRAKESBORO -- Fairy Mae Garrett, 67, of Drakesboro died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. She was born in Muhlenberg County and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Holiness denomination. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Kenneth Garrett, in 1994.

Survivors include three sons, David H. Garrett of Clifty, Jewell Garrett of Drakesboro and Roger D. Garrett of Todd County; a daughter, Virginia Garrett of Drakesboro; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a brother, Denny Wester of California.

Services are at 1 p.m. Friday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Jagoe cemetery in Central City. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Frederica Paxton Puryear Schultzman
11 November 1999

PADUCAH -- Frederica Paxton Puryear Schultzman, 87, of Paducah died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999, at her home. She was a member of St. Frances De Sales Catholic Church, the Paducah Music Club and the Paducah Magazine Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Schultzman; a son, David Frederick Schultzman; and a daughter, Frances Marian Schultzman Walter.

Survivors include six daughters, Angela Smith and Lucy Schultzman, both of Paducah, Sara Nell Hayden of Owensboro, Katherine Goetz of Lexington, Barbara Good of Silver Springs, Md., and Cecile Thomas of Earlington; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services were at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Paducah. Burial was in Mount Carmel cemetery in Paducah. Roth Funeral Chapel in Paducah was in charge of arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the St. Frances De Sales Memorial Fund in Paducah.

Edmund E. Sills
11 November 1999

FORDSVILLE -- Edmund E. Sills, 67, of Fordsville died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at his home. He was born in Danville, Ill., and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Association and Blind Veterans' Association. He was preceded in death by two sons, Timothy Wells and Douglas Wells.

Survivors include his wife Golda Sills; a daughter, Tresa Payne of Hawesville; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Eli Sills of Danville, Ill., and Ron Sills of Indianapolis; and two sisters, Janice Sills and Susan Sills, both of Danville, Ill.

Services are at 2 p.m. today at Harl-Geary Funeral Home in Fordsville. Burial will be in Fordsville cemetery. Visitation is after 10 a.m. today at the funeral home.
