LEXINGTON -- Marian Casebier Taylor, 71, of Lexington died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. She was born in Pattiville and retired from RCA in Marion, Ind., on Jan. 1, 1989.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Taylor; a daughter, Cinderella Casebier of Orlando, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Bridget Drum of Texas; a grandchild; and two stepgrandchildren.

Services are at 11 a.m. Friday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Ohio County. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove cemetery in Ohio County. Visitation is after 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Harl-Geary Funeral Home in Fordsville is in charge of arrangements.

Daisy Powers
9 November 1999

HAWESVILLE -- Daisy Powers, 82, formerly of Hawesville, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at Heartland Villa in Lewisport. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and former owner of Kentucky Cardinal Restaurant in Hawesville. She was a former employee of the Breeze Inn Restaurant, Kozy Kitchen Restaurant and Bill's IGA in Hawesville.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Johnnie Powers; three sons, Billy Joe Powers, Pascal Powers and Gary Powers, all of Hawesville; a daughter, Emma Jean Jasper of Tell City, Ind.; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; a sister, Eva Ellen Meserve of Hawesville; and several nephews and nieces.

Services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Gibson and Son Funeral Home in Hawesville. Burial will be in Serenity Hills cemetery in Hawesville. Visitation is after 3 p.m. today and until services Wednesday at the funeral home.

James 'Jimmy' Edward Warren
9 November 1999

LEWISPORT -- James "Jimmy" Edward Warren, 40, of Lewisport died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at his home. He was born in Owensboro and retired from Tool Co. Inc. in Owensboro. He was a member of Lewisport Baptist Church and enjoyed NASCAR racing, deer hunting and the outdoors.

Survivors include his wife, Diann Oliver Warren; a son, Jon Edward at home; and a daughter, Jamie Elizabeth at home.

Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lewisport Baptist Church. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Taylor-Raymond-Spear Funeral Home in Lewisport. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice Association, 723 Harvard Drive, Owensboro, KY 42301-9979. Memorial contribution envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Bill Rone
9 November 1999

SACRAMENTO -- Bill Rone, 72, of Sacramento died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at his home. He was born in Butler County, retired after 36 years of service from the Texas Gas Transmission Corp. of Owensboro and was a member of Sacramento Baptist Church. He was the owner and operator of the Sacramento Pay Lake and enjoyed fishing and working in the outdoors.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Kathryn Moorman Rone; three sons, Ronald Rone and Steven Rone, both of Owensboro, and William Rone of Sacramento; four daughters, Karen Kirtley of Bowling Green, Sandra Rone of Owensboro and Mary Rone Nalley and Allison Rone Phillips, both of Sacramento; 14 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; three brothers, Donald Rone and George Rone, both of Owensboro, and Bobby Rone of Kershaw, S.C.; and four sisters, Adeen Miller of Sacramento, Carol Rone and Jana Detiz, both of Owensboro, and Fran Raymer of Dothan, Ala.

Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sacramento Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Sacramento Cumberland Presbyterian cemetery. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Sacramento Baptist Church Building Fund or the Sacramento Cumberland Presbyterian cemetery, c/o Muster Funeral Homes, P.O. Box 160, Calhoun, KY 42327. Memorial contribution envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Aliene Allen
10 November 1999

CLOVERPORT -- Aliene Allen, 86, of Sample died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at Medco Center of Brandenburg. She was born in Shrewsberry and was a member of the Sebree United Methodist Church. Her husband, John M. Allen, died on Oct. 12, 1972.

Survivors include two sons, Marion "Buddy" Allen of Sample and Wayne Allen of Evansville; a daughter, Faye Pillows of Apollo Beach, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, D.C. Smith of Stephensport; and a sister, Louise Hines of Hardinsburg.

Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Wallace Funeral Home in Cloverport. Burial will be in Cloverport cemetery. Visitation is after 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Walter L. Frakes
10 November 1999

ARCADIA, Fla. -- Walter L. Frakes, 77, of Arcadia died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at DeSoto Memorial Hospital in Arcadia. He was born in Owensboro, was pastor of the Nazarene Church in Illinois, retiring in 1987, and taught fifth grade in Gilman Elementary School in Gilman, Ill. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, the DAV, was an ordained minister and an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Eunie B. Frakes; two sons, Monte L. Frakes of Kanakee, Ill., and Michael A. Frakes of Bradenton, Fla.; a daughter, LaVetta R. Miller of Park Forest, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, George Frakes Jr. of Owensboro; and a sister, Bette Joe Payne of Owensboro.

Services were Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, at the Church of the Nazarene in Arcadia, Fla. Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home in Arcadia was in charge of the arrangements.

Harlan Allerson Pierce
10 November 1999

CENTRAL CITY -- Harlan Allerson Pierce, 76, of Central City died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at Jennie Stuart Hospital in Hopkinsville. He was born in Ohio County, was of the Holiness denomination and was a retired logger.

Survivors include a sister, Anna Smith of Central City; three nieces; a great-great-niece; five great-nephews; and two great-great-nephews.

Graveside services are at 1 p.m. today at New Hope cemetery in Moorman. Tucker Funeral Home in Central City is in charge of the arrangements.

Shelby Joseph Mattingly
16 April 1999

CLOVERPORT - Shelby Joseph Mattingly, 60, of Balltown died Wednesday, April 14, 1999, at University of Louisville Hospital from injuries suffered in a truck accident four weeks ago. He was born in Balltown, served in the Marines from 1957 to 1960 and was formerly employed by Willamette Industries for 12 years. He was a farmer and was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Cloverport. He was a certified electrician and a fireman.

Survivors include his wife, Modella Mattingly; two sons, Larry Mattingly of Balltown and Joe Allen Mattingly of Owensboro; his father, Herman Mattingly of Balltown; three brothers, David Mattingly of Philpot, Paul Mattingly of Brandenburg and Romuald Mattingly of Balltown; a sister, Marilyn Yvonne "Cassie" Walker of Charleston, S.C.; and several nephews and nieces.

Services are at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Rose Catholic Church. Burial will be in Old St. Rose cemetery in Cloverport. Visitation is after 3 p.m. today at Wallace Funeral Home in Cloverport. A vigil prayer service will be at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to St. Romuald Interparochial. Memorial contribution envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Mary V. Whitmer
9 February 2000

NEBO -- Mary V. Whitmer, 75, of Madisonville died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, at her daughter's home in Nebo. She was born in McLean County and was a retired manager of Kentucky Fried Chicken in Madisonville. She was a former manager of the Pantry and was a member of Sacramento Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Her husband, Gordon Whitmer, died Nov. 19, 1979.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Whitmer of Danville, Va., and Terry Whitmer of Nebo; two daughters, Joyce Nugent of Nebo and Elaine Woods of Andrews, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home in Madisonville. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Madisonville. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Green River Hospice, 109 S. Second St., Central City, KY 42330.

Luberta M. Day
31 January 2000

Luberta M. Day, 86, of Whitesville died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at her daughter's home in Reynolds Station. She was born in Daviess County, was a homemaker and was a member of Whitesville Baptist Church for more than 55 years. Her husband, Jerome Day, died in 1976, and a son, Alton Brent Day, died in 1972.

Survivors include a son, Jerry W. Day of Whitesville; a daughter, Bonnie Richards of Reynolds Station; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, James Argel McCamish of Athens, Ohio, Bryant McCamish of Hawesville and Marvin McCamish of Whitesville.

Services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Whitesville Baptist Church. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is after 2 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville.

Diego Ramirez Dennison

Diego Ramirez Dennison, 3, of 2-D River Road, Owensboro, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at his home. He was born in Owensboro.

Survivors include his father, Eligio "Coco" Ramirez of Owensboro; his mother, Robin Lynn Dennison of Owensboro; his maternal grandparents, Donald L. and Connie J. Dennison of Rock Falls, Ill.; his paternal grandfather; a brother, Chanse Ellis of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and a sister, Meranda Zacarias of Owensboro.

Services are at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at James H. Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Owensboro. Burial will be in Rosehill cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Robin Fitzgerald Leach
3 February 2000

Robin Fitzgerald Leach, 34, of Utica died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, in Seymour, Ind., after an automobile accident. He was born in Owensboro, worked as a pipefitter/boilermaker at Titan Construction in Owensboro and was a member of the pipefitters union in Madisonville. He was a member of Harvest Baptist Church in Owensboro and attended Set Free Church in Owensboro. He was a member of the Barbarossa Motorcycle Club.

Survivors include his companion of 14 years, Tina Dowell of Utica; a son, Jacob Brent Leach of Utica; two daughters, Chessa Witt of Hartford and Kasey Elaine Leach of Utica; his father, Walter Leach of London; his mother, Shirley Leach of Owensboro; his grandmother, Thelma Leach of Beaver Dam; and two half-sisters, Yolanda Jean Leach of Dallas, Ga., and Kathy Sue Leach of Cartersville, Ga.

Services are at 11 a.m. Friday at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial will be in Witt cemetery in Ohio County. Visitation is from noon to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to a trust fund for the surviving children. Deposits can be made at Firstar Bank in Owensboro. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
