CUSTER -- Ruby Hoskinson, 95, of Custer died Wednesday, May 23, 2001 at Breckinridge Memorial Nursing Facility in Hardinsburg. The Breckinridge County native was a housewife and member of Custer United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Eva Robinson of Custer, three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg. Burial will be in Custer cemetery. Visitation is from 4:30 to 8 p.m. today and after 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

William Lloyd 'Bill' Tinius

William Lloyd "Bill" Tinius, 81, of 2515 Daviess St., Owensboro, died Monday, May 21, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Daviess County native retired from General Electric Co. after 35 years and was an elder emeritus and member of Friendship Sunday school class at First Christian Church. He was a member of VFW Bowling Team, an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Edwina Day Tinius; two daughters, Dianne Motowicki of Conyers, Ga., and Deborah Crone of Owensboro; four grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Marrett of Paducah.

Arrangements are pending at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to First Christian Church Memorial Fund, 701 Daviess St., Owensboro, KY 42303.

Helen Davis O'Neal

LEWISBURG -- Helen Davis O'Neal, 67, of Lewisburg died Saturday, May 19, 2001, at Logan Memorial Hospital in Russellville. The Central City native retired from Kleen Rite as a cleaner and was a member of Church of God of Prophecy.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Roland O' Neal; two sons, Danny O'Neal of Lewisburg and David O' Neal of Russellville; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her mother, Neoma Drury of Central City; two brothers, George Davis of Madisonville and Roy Wayne Davis of Central City; three sisters, Viola Erwin of Beechmont, Juanita Russ of Evansville and Anna Shenkman of Gresham, Ore.; and an aunt.

Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Price Funeral Home in Lewisburg. Burial will be in Fitzhugh cemetery in Lewisburg. Visitation is after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Elva Mae Gardner

GREENVILLE -- Elva Mae Gardner, 93, of Greenville died there Sunday, May 27, 2001, at Maple Manor Nursing Home after several weeks' illness. The Huntsville native retired from Kentucky Children's Home in Louisville and was a member of First Baptist Church in Greenville, Young At Heart Club and Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include two nieces.

Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will be in Methodist Church cemetery in Huntsville. Visitation is after 6 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Willard Othel 'Bill' Vaught

CENTRAL CITY -- Willard Othel "Bill" Vaught, 78, of Central City died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Muhlenberg County native retired as a miner from Amoco, was a member of Mount Zion Presbyterian Church and a World War II Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Peach Vaught; a son, Larry Vaught of Central City; two daughters, Kaye Crowder of Louisville and Vicki McDonald of Martinez, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services are at 11 a.m. Friday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Mount Zion cemetery in Muhlenberg County. Visitation is after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Mount Zion Presbyterian Church.

Faye V. Cason

Faye V. Cason, 93, of Leisure Years Nursing Home in Owensboro died there Tuesday, May 29, 2001. The Paris, Tenn., native retired from A.J. Reynolds Family and was a member of Fourth Street Baptist Church where she was a member of Ladies in White and sang in the Senior Choir. She was a member of Amaranth Chapter 46 of Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed crocheting. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph T. Cason in 1984; two sons, John Edwards in 1999 and Alfred Porter in 1977; and a daughter, Mary R. Martin in 1999.

Survivors include a son, Thomas Porter of Paris, Tenn.; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Services are at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Fourth Street Baptist Church in Owensboro. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church. Eastern Star services will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the church. Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro is in charge of arrangements.

Lucy Winifred Roby

Lucy Winifred Roby, 76, of Owensboro died Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Daviess County native was a homemaker and member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family. Her husband, Bernard J. Roby, died Feb. 22, 1993.

Survivors include four sons, Junior Roby of Fordsville, Thomas Roby of Hartford, and Steve Roby and James Roby, both of Utica; two daughters, Sheila Walker of Owensboro and Carolyn Garrison of Utica; six grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Lawrence Johnson of Knottsville; and five sisters, Martine York, Mary Edna Payne and Marie Fulkerson, all of Knottsville, and Rosanne Roberts and Bernadette Melton, both of Owensboro.

Services are at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Owensboro. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Prayers will be said at 5:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to American Heart Association, 318 St. Elizabeth St., Owensboro, KY 42301.

William Howard Browning

GREENVILLE -- William Howard Browning, 72, of Greenville died there Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital. The Muhlenberg County native retired as a farmer and from Goodyear Co. in Madisonville, was a deacon at Cave Spring Baptist Church for 28 years and an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda "Vincent" Browning; a son, William Forrest Browning of Greenville; a daughter, Barbara Cobb of Greenville; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry Browning of Oskaloosa, Kan.; and a sister, Adelle Dukes of Greenville.

Services are at 1 p.m. today at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Cave Spring cemetery in Muhlenberg County.

Charles Randall Whitaker

Charles Randall Whitaker, 54, of 823 Pennbrooke St., Owensboro, died there Friday, May 18, 2001, at his home. The Cynthiana native was an auto mechanic.

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Barbara Whitaker; three sons, Charles Wayne Whitaker and Gilbert Whitaker, both at home, and Christopher Whitaker of Cynthiana; two daughters, Rebecca Sue and Melissa Royalty, both of Lexington; six grandchildren; his father, William Charles Whitaker of Cynthiana; four brothers, Glenn Whitaker of Cynthiana, Dale Whitaker of North Carolina and Attle Whitaker and Gary Whitaker, both of Middletown; two sisters, Kay Yates of Opelika, Ala., and Carolyn Vance of Cynthiana; and several nephews and nieces.

Services are at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Owensboro Memorial Gardens, Christ Chapel. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is after noon Monday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Charles Randall Whitaker Memorial Fund, c/o Glenn Funeral Home, 900 Old Hartford Road, Owensboro, KY 42303.

BOWLING GREEN -- Mary L. Belcher, 85, of Bowling Green died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville. She was an Auburn native.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth Wayne Belcher of Louisville; a brother, Roy Junior Bumpus of Zionsville, Ind.; and two sisters, Mae Bobbett of Bowling Green and Mary Whitehead of Owensboro.

Services are at 11 a.m. today at Balley-Turner-Winkenhofer Funeral Home in Bowling Green. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery in Bowling Green. Visitation is after 8 a.m. today at the funeral home.
