William 'Stump' Dennison
9 October 2001

William "Stump" Dennison, 41, of 717 Idaho Lane, Owensboro, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, at his parents' home. The Holyoke, Mass., native worked at Owensboro Grain Co. as a boiler operator and was a member of the Salvation Army. He enjoyed University of Kentucky athletics and spending time with his daughters.

Survivors include his companion, Penny Dennison; two daughters, Magan Dennison and Haley Dennison, both of Owensboro; his parents, Joe and Mary Jo Kelley Dennison of Owensboro; a brother, Jimmy Dennison of Owensboro; two sisters, Mary "Pudgy" Hatfield and Patty Carter, both of Owensboro; several nephews and nieces; and several uncles and aunts.

Services are at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at James H. Davis Funeral Home chapel in Owensboro. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove cemetery in Sorgho. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice Association, 723 Harvard Drive, Owensboro, KY 42301.

Coleman Dowell

HARDINSBURG - Coleman Dowell, 88, of Hardinsburg died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001, at Medco Center in Brandenburg. The Breckinridge County native retired from Kister Lumber Co. and Millwork as a carpenter, was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church and an Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nellie Sosh Dowell; and five daughters, Shirley Kelly, Bernice Henken, Dorothy Blackerby, Francis Elmore and Bettye Dowell.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Dowell; two sons, Jeffrey Dowell of Brandenburg and Gene Dowell of Louisville; three daughters, Cindy Dowell and Toni Norris, both of Louisville, and Judy Lyons of Hardinsburg; 31 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Jeff Dowell and Leonard Dowell, both of Hardinsburg; and two sisters, Vivian Swango of Louisville and Madalyn Harper of Hardinsburg.

Services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in McQuady. Burial will be in St. Michael cemetery in Louisville. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg. Prayers will be said at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to American Cancer Society.

Mary Louise Brown Quisenberry

Mary Louise Brown Quisenberry, 89, of 309 Wildwood Drive, Owensboro, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, at Hillcrest Healthcare Center. The Hopkins County native was a member of First Christian Church and its Berean Sunday school class, for which she played piano for many years. Her husband, Everett S. Quisenberry, died in 1977.

Survivors include two sons, James E. Quisenberry and Robert B. Quisenberry, both of Owensboro; two daughters, Sarah Quisenberry of Lake Worth, Fla., and Marilyn Quisenberry Baird of Owensboro; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Shriners Hospital Memorial Fund, 1900 Richmond Ave., Lexington, KY 40502 or First Christian Church, 701 Daviess St., Owensboro, KY 42303.

Kimberly Joyce Bowman

MADISONVILLE - Kimberly Joyce Bowman, 39, of Madisonville died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, at Kindred Hospital in Louisville from a brain aneurysm. The Madisonville native was a member of Little Flock Baptist Church in Nebo and a graduate of South Hopkins High School.

Survivors include her companion of 16 years, Tony O. Watson; a son, Tyrone "Ty" Antonio Bowman; seven brothers, Ronald Bowman and Gregory Bowman, both of Madisonville, Lawrence Bowman of Greenville, James Bowman of Henderson, Darrell Bowman and Jerrell Bowman, both of Marion, Ill., and Archie Bowman of Milwaukee; five sisters, Delma Cottoner of Louisville, Shelia Tandy and Susan Forrow, both of Madisonville, Rosie Blanton of Hopkinsville, and Cynthia Walker of Milwaukee; 45 nephews and nieces; 35 great-nephews and nieces; an uncle; and several cousins.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Madisonville. Burial will be in Barnes cemetery in White Plains. Visitation is after 4 p.m. Friday at Mason & Sons Funeral Home in Madisonville.

William P. Clancy Jr.
9 October 2001

William P. Clancy Jr., 76, of 1736 Navajo Drive, Owensboro, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001, at Wellington Parc from respiratory failure. The Louisville native was an agent for Metropolitan Life and a member of First Presbyterian Church where he was an elder and former president of the Mens Bible Class. He graduated from Centre College and was former president of Noon Optimist. He was an Army veteran and enjoyed golf, tennis and sailing.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Lambert Clancy; a son, Percy Clancy of Owensboro; a daughter, Margaret West of Owensboro; and four grandchildren.

Services are at 2:30 p.m. Friday at James H. Davis Funeral Home chapel in Owensboro. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and after 12:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Alzheimer's Association, 950 B Kenmore Drive, Evansville, IN 47714 or First Presbyterian Church, 1328 Griffith Ave., Owensboro, KY 42301.

Gene Rhea Johnson
1 October 2001

GREENVILLE - Gene Rhea Johnson, 70, of Greenville died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. The Muhlenberg County native retired from Tennessee Valley Authority and was a Korean War veteran. He was a member of Greenville Second Baptist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars in Greenville and American Legion in Central City. A son, Gene Rhea "Butch" Johnson Jr., died in 1998.

Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Shutt and Belinda Lear, both of Greenville; three stepdaughters, Tina Jordan of Virginia, Pennie Little of Lexington and Anita Reno of Louisville; four grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; a brother, L.A. Johnson of Greenville; and a sister, Omanel Robertson of Greenville.

Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery in Greenville. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Beulah Daugherty

HARDINSBURG - Beulah Daugherty, 90, of Shepherdsville, formerly of Hardinsburg, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2001, in Shepherdsville. The Breckinridge County native was preceded in death by her husband, John W. "Jay" Daugherty, on June 27, 1997; and a son, William Daugherty.

Survivors include a brother, William Board of Hardinsburg; and three grandchildren.

Graveside services are at 1 p.m. today at Cloverport cemetery. Visitation is after noon today at Wallace Funeral Home in Cloverport.

Nelda Fuller
28 November 2001

CENTRAL CITY - Nelda Fuller, 88, of Central City, formerly of Owensboro, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at Belle Meade Nursing Home in Central City. She was a McLean County native. She was preceded in death by four husbands, Marvin Maddox, Ray Harrison, Bernice Underwood and Bill Fuller; and a daughter, Melverda Withrow.

Survivors include two grandsons; a great-granddaughter; a brother, Kinnley Arnold of Hartford; and a sister, Anna Shaklee of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.

Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Rose Hill cemetery in Central City. Gibson & Son Funeral Home in Hawesville is in charge of arrangements.

Jeffrey E. Beasley

MORGANTOWN - Jeffrey E. Beasley, 38, of Morgantown died Monday, Dec. 10, 2001, at Trin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield. The Grayson County native was a logger.

Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Tarrance Beasley; two sons, Scotty Beasley and Jason Beasley, both of Morgantown; a daughter, Tabitha Lynn Beasley of Indianapolis; his mother, Lonie Burden Beasley of Morgantown; six brothers, Jerry Beasley, Melvin Beasley, Roger Beasley, Jimmy Beasley and Kenny Beasley, all of Morgantown, and Larry Beasley of Horse Branch; three sisters, Rita Jenkins and Kaye Givens, both of Huntsville, and Nina Mason of Morgantown; and several nephews and nieces; and several cousins.

Services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Chapel in Morgantown. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Church cemetery near Morgantown. Visitation is after 10 a.m. today at the the funeral home.

Robert Jackson 'Jack' Chaney

HENDERSON - Robert Jackson "Jack" Chaney, 55, of Henderson died there Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at Methodist Hospital. He was a mechanic at Grand Eagle Coal Mine and was a combat engineer veteran of the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Chaney; two sons, B.J. Chaney of Smith Mills and Keith Bailey of Sebree; two daughters, Becky Montgomery of Morganfield and Mindy Chaney of Lexington; seven grandchildren; five brothers, the Rev. Ralph Chaney and the Rev. Herbert Dale Chaney, both of Reed, William Donald Chaney of Henderson, Audie Chaney of Owensboro and Richard Chaney of Baskett; and four sisters, Polly Cobb of Corydon, Sue Bush of Spottsville, Barbara Merida of Evansville and Judy Durham of Crestwood.

Services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home in Henderson. Burial will be in Fairmount cemetery in Henderson. Full military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Worsham Post No. 40. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Gary Bobo Bozeman Sr.
18 November 2001

MADISONVILLE - Gary Bobo Bozeman Sr., 46, of Madisonville, formerly of Muhlenberg County, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at Senior Citizens Nursing Home in Madisonville after a long illness. The Russellville, Ala., native was a construction worker and laid foundations on the ocean floor.

Survivors include a son, Gary Bobo Bozeman Jr. of Madisonville; a daughter, Shelly Marie Bozeman of Winchester, Ind.; his father, R.D. Bozeman of Earlington; two sisters, Shelia Pendley of Madisonville and Kathy Ann Hawkins of Earlington; and several nephews and nieces.

Services were Saturday at Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Green River Hospice.

Irvin Lewis Leach
21 November 2001

BEAVER DAM - Irvin Lewis Leach, 60, of Beaver Dam died Monday, Nov. 19, 2001, at University of Louisville Hospital. The Rosine native was a carpenter and member of Oak Grove Church of God in Cromwell. He was a member of United Mine Workers of America Local 1359 and Beaver Dam Masonic Lodge No. 420 F&AM.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Faye Leach; a son, Edward Leach of Beaver Dam; two daughters, Traci Carver of Rockport, Ky., and Kimberly Moore of Beaver Dam; a grandson; his mother, Damie Mae Leach of Beaver Dam; a brother, Howard Leach of Hendersonville, Tenn., and a sister, Ruth Austin of Beaver Dam.

Services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Oak Grove Church of God. Burial will be in Sunnyside cemetery in Beaver Dam. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday at the church. Masonic services are at 7 p.m. Thursday at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam.
