BREMEN - Felix "Rab" Ray, 93, of Bremen died Thursday, May 13, 2004, at Belle Meade Nursing Home in Greenville. He was a retired manager from Stewart's IGA Foodliner in Central City and a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Bremen. He was a veteran of World War II.

Services: 2 p.m. Sunday at Tucker Funeral Home of Central City. Burial: Mount Pisgah cemetery in Bremen. Visitation: After 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Herbert Wood

DUNMOR - Herbert Wood, 95, of Dunmor died Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at Crestwood Health Care Center in Shelbyville. He was a laborer for TVA, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Mount Moriah Church of Christ.

Survivors include a daughter, JoAnn (Wood) Wilson.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday, May 7, at Price Funeral Home in Lewisburg. Burial: Mount Moriah Church of Christ cemetery in Muhlenberg County. Visitation: From 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Jan G. Kuegel

Jan D. Kuegel, 67, of 2260 South York St., Owensboro, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in Daviess County and was a lifelong member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and Sunday school teacher and was treasurer for many years. He was a member and past president of Daviess County Lions Club, former board member of Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home and was a farm consultant at Green River Rural Electric for five years. In 1964, he started the Southeast Daviess County Water District and later started the West District in 1968. He was still manager of both the Southeast and West districts at the time of his death. He was also a longtime member of the Travelers Protective Association and a Kentucky Colonel. He was a 1958 graduate of University of Kentucky with a bachelor of science degree in agriculture. He was in the Farm House fraternity. He was a licensed operator for the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Cabinet, Division of Water. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Janice Higdon; a grandson, Michael Brandon Higdon in 1982; his parents, Martin and Cecil Crabtree Kuegel; two brothers, Robert and James Kuegel; and a sister-in-law, Carrie Newman Kuegel.

Surviving is his wife of 42 years, Mary Haley Kuegel; two daughters, Rebecca Kuegel Brown and her husband, Terry, of Chandler, Ind., and Alena Jo Kuegel Johnson of Richmond; former son-in-law William Higdon; three grandchildren, Jancee Marie Seib, Joseph August Seib and Jordan Donal Johnson; stepgrandchildren Chris, Jeremy and Tyler Brown; two brothers, William Kuegel and John Kuegel Sr., both of Owensboro; a sister, Rebecca Kuegel Newman of Philpot; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 7, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, with entombment following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Palliative Care, c/o Central Baptist Hospital Foundation, 1740 Nicholasville Road, Lexington, KY 40503 or to the Building Fund, c/o Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 5664 Highway 56, Owensboro, KY 42301.

Rosemary Tostich Snyder

DRAKESBORO - Rosemary Tostich Snyder, 78, died Wednesday, May 5, 2004, at 9:40 p.m. at her home on Corum Landing Road near Drakesboro following several weeks' illness. She was born in Monroe County, N.Y., on Nov. 19, 1925, the daughter of Emmett Tostich and Pearl Thompson Tostich. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Brockport, N.Y., and was a homemaker and housewife. She was preceded in death by her son, Marc Snyder, in 2000.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon, May 10, at 2 p.m. from Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville by the Rev. Mike Chambers. Burial will be in Lake Side cemetery in New York, N.Y.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Donald L. Snyder of Drakesboro; a daughter, Elin Smith of Belton; three sons, Michael Snyder of North Charleston, S.C., William Snyder of Ankara, Turkey, and Stephan Snyder of Albian, N.Y.; four grandchildren; a sister, Phylis Schafer of Hammond, N.Y.; and a brother, Emmitt Tostich of Lexington.

Friends may call Sunday, May 9, from 6 to 9 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Monday at Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville.

David Allen Jolly

McQUADY - David Allen Jolly, 56, of McQuady died Saturday, March 30, 2002, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. The Breckinridge County native was a farmer and member of Corinth Baptist Church.

Survivors include several nephews and nieces; and several cousins.

Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg. Burial will be in McQuady cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to American Cancer Society.

Kathryn Brame

HOPKINSVILLE - Kathryn Brame, 87, of Hopkinsville, formerly of Owensboro, died Saturday, March 23, 2002, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville. The LaFayette native had worked as an office manager for a group of companies. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Owensboro, Owensboro-Daviess County Humane Society and the Outdoor Advertising Association, for which she served as secretary.

Survivors include a nephew; a niece; and three great-nieces.

Graveside services are at 1 p.m. today at Powell cemetery in LaFayette. Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz is in charge of arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Pennyroyal Hospice, 1821 E. Ninth St., Hopkinsville, KY 42240.

Mary R. Campbell

Mary R. Campbell, 87, of 2001 E. 19th St., Owensboro, died Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at her home. The Daviess County native retired from what is now Owensboro Mercy Health System after 25 years as a licensed practical nurse and was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Her husband, Edgar Lee Campbell, died March 22, 2001.

Survivors include three sons, E.L. "Dick" Campbell of Fordsville, Don Campbell of Richland, Ind., and Jim Campbell of Newburgh, Ind.; three daughters, Judy Ford of Utica and Sharlene Campbell and Suzee Young, both of Owensboro; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchild.

Services are at 2 p.m. today at James H. Davis Funeral Home chapel in Owensboro. Burial will be in Bells Run Baptist Church cemetery in Ohio County. Visitation is after 11 a.m. today at the funeral home.

William C. Myles Sr.
21 March 2002

William C. Myles Sr., 96, of 4214 Pendley Court, Owensboro, died Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at Hillcrest Nursing Home. The Daviess County native was a retired home builder and contractor and a member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge 130 F&AM. He had been a soloist at the former Third Street Methodist Church and St. John United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Frances Klein Myles; two sons, William C. Myles Jr. of Campbellsville and Dalton Kenneth Myles of Carmel, Ind.; a daughter, Mary Kathryn Thompson of Owensboro; a stepson, Michael Klein of Lexington; a stepdaughter, Nancy Klein Veal of Louisville; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Services are at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Burial will be in Rosehill cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Settle Memorial United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.

Ollie Louise Cobb Kempton

Ollie Louise Cobb Kempton, 89, of Owensboro died Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at her home. The Fordsville native was a retired teacher and taught at Oaks, Fordsville school, Hot Springs, Ark., and Owensboro Public Schools' Lincoln, Goodloe and Seven Hills elementary schools. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Owensboro, graduated from Bethel Women's College and Western Kentucky University and was a Kentucky Colonel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland G. Kempton.

Survivors include several cousins.

Services are at 1 p.m. Friday at Geary Funeral Home in Fordsville. Burial will be in Fordsville cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

James B. Eaton Jr.
28 March 2002

James B. Eaton Jr., 89, of 1103 Hermitage Drive, Owensboro, died Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The New Orleans native retired as chief engineer from Texas Gas after 30 years, received an engineering degree from Tulane University and was a World War II Navy veteran. He was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral, former president of Owensboro Lions Club, received its Melvin Jones Award and served on several club boards. His first wife, Marise Dillion Eaton, died Jan. 29, 1988.

Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Merle Vickers Allen Eaton; a son, James B. Eaton III of Houston; a daughter, Marise Hoffman of Auburn, N.Y.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Sam Eaton of Holiday, Fla.; a sister, Mary Thornton of Jeanerette, La.; and several nephews and nieces.

Services are at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Stephen Cathedral in Owensboro. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. today and from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. Friday at James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro. Prayers will be said at 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice Association, 723 Harvard Drive, Owensboro, KY 42301 or a favorite charity.

Agnes Geary Riggs

ECHOLS - Agnes Geary Riggs, 88, of Vine Grove, formerly of Echols, died Thursday, March 14, 2002, at Woodland Terrace Nursing Home in Elizabethtown. The Ohio County native was a housewife and member of Church of God of Prophecy in Hodgenville. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Vollie Geary; her second husband, Leon Riggs; and two sons, Glenn Geary and John Geary.

Survivors include two sons, Vollie Lee Geary of Beaver Dam and Havert Geary of Selmer, Tenn.; four daughters, Emma Decker of Vine Grove, Edna Wester of Beaver Dam, Mildred Evans of Mt. Vernon, Fla., and Dorothy Damron of Louisville; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-greatgrandchildren; and two sisters, Edith B. Harmon of Cynthiana and Florene Hawkins of Evansville.

Services are at 1 p.m. Monday at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial will be in Echols cemetery. Visitation is from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
