Survivors include a sister, Sandra Carter.

Frances Overlin Hawkins

Frances Overlin Hawkins, 84, of 123 W. 22nd St., Owensboro, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004, at Heartland Villa in Lewisport. She was born on July 15, 1920, in Evansville to the late Charles and Constance (Moseley) Overlin. She retired from G.E. after 33 years and attended Century Christian Church. She enjoyed sewing, reading and visiting with her family.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan H. Alford of Owensboro and Constance Kramer and husband Vaugn of Louisville; two sons, James L. Hawkins of Owensboro and William C. "Bill" Hawkins and wife Bonnie of Lewisville, Texas; six grandchildren, Barbie Spampinato, Knox Alford III, Amanda Morgan, Bill Hawkins Jr., Kelly Alford and Rachel Hawkins; and one great-grandchild, Abigail Morgan.

Services are at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004, at James H. Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Owensboro. Burial is in Rosehill cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 6, 2004, and after 9 a.m. on Tuesday at James H. Davis Funeral Home.

Don Reid Oborski Sr.

Don Reid Oborski Sr., 59, of Owensboro died Friday, Sept. 3, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in Pennsylvania on Jan. 4, 1945, to the late Joseph and Alice (Pope) Oborski. He was retired from the Laborers Local 1392 in Owensboro and the locals in Evansville and Pennsylvania. His first job was building the cooling towers at the I&M Power Plant and his last job before retirement was on the new Natcher bridge. While growing up he was a member of the Methodist church and after moving to Owensboro attended Immaculate Catholic Church. He enjoyed driving his Ford F250 diesel and trailer to the Greenville, 4H, Yellowbanks and Aurora flea markets. He also enjoyed garage sales, had several antiques booths and enjoyed being with his granddaughters, Katarina and Molly.

He is survived by his wife, Rene; one son, Danny Oborski Jr. of Henderson; one daughter, Danielle Barnwell of Evansville; two granddaughters, Molly Oborski and Katarina Barnwell; two brothers, Jospeh Oborski and Gary Oborski, both of Hunlock Creek, Penn.; and one sister, Kathryn Davis of Nanticoke, Penn.

Visitation is today from 1 to 6 p.m. at James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro.

Services are at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004, at Clarke Piatt Funeral Home in Hunlock Creek, Penn. Burial is in Bloomingdale cemetery in Shick Shinny, Penn. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Tuesday at Clarke Piatt Funeral Home in Hunlock Creek.

James 'Randy' Mattingly

James "Randy" Mattingly, 36, of Knottsville died Monday, Sept. 6, 2004, at his home. He was born in Daviess County and was a member of St. William Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Erica Lynn, in September 1986.

He is survived by a son, Tyler Randall; a daughter, Mackenzie Ray; parents, James A. "Jim" and Lorene (Payne) Mattingly of Knottsville; two sisters, Gail Niehous of Owensboro and Connie Lemmons of Knottsville; two brothers, Mike Mattingly of Pleasant Ridge and Timmy Mattingly of Philpot; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. William Catholic Church. Private burial will be in Rosehill cemetery at a later date. Visitation will begin after 1 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Wednesday at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville. Prayers will be said at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. William cemetery.

Elizabeth Moseley

BEAVER DAM - Elizabeth Moseley, 73, of Beaver Dam died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004, in Athens, Ala. She was a homemaker and member of Church of Christ at Beaver Dam.

Survivors include two sons, Steve Moseley and Mark Moseley; two daughters, Rita Schmidt and Laura Murray; and a sister, Evelyn Ragland.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial: Sunnyside cemetery in Beaver Dam. Visitation: From 5 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mildred Little

HARTFORD - Mildred Little, 61, of Hartford died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004, at Beaver Dam Health Care Manor. She retired from Perdue in Cromwell.

Graveside services: 9:30 a.m. today at Slaty Creek cemetery in Prentiss. William L. Danks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Amaunie DeWayne Winstead

Amaunie DeWayne Winstead, two months, of Owensboro died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004. He was born in Owensboro to his mother, April Winstead, and his father, DeWayne Hall.

Other survivors include two brothers, Amarius Winstead and Joshua James, both of Owensboro; three sisters, Alexis Hall, J'Nayah Hall and Jada Hall, all of Owensboro; grandparents, Linda and Steve Stevenson and Lisa Hall and Michael Showers; and great-grandparents, Georgia L. Hall and Carl L. Douglas.

Services are at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at Tenth Street Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is at 2 p.m. Thursday at the church. McFarland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Holly Janean Logsdon Vance

HARTFORD - Holly Janean Logsdon Vance, 25, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004, at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville. She was a member of Brooklyn Baptist Church in Morgantown and a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Aaron Vance; a son, Jacob Aaron Vance; two daughters, Kaitlyn Brook Cardwell and Emily Edith Vance; her mother, Judy Logsdon; her father, Richard Moore; and maternal grandparents, Uel and Edith Logsdon.

Graveside services were Monday at Sunnydale cemetery in Ohio County. Duke-Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Hartford was in charge of arrangements.

Mildred Reed

CENTRAL CITY - Mildred Reed, 79, of 1006 Broad St., Central City, died at 3:50 a.m., Monday, Sept. 6, 2004, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. She was born Jan. 31, 1925, in Mount Vernon, Ill., and retired from Pay Less Drug Co. She worked at Sanitary Cleaners for 18 years, was a member of First United Methodist Church in Central City and a member of the choir for 25 years.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Clayton Reed; a foster daughter and husband, Susan Phelps Anglin and Donald of Smithland; three grandsons, Scott Phelps and wife, Amy, of Lexington, John Phelps of Beaver Dam and Andrew Anglin of Smithland; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Liken Phelps of Beaver Dam; and a sister-in-law, Mary Lee Phelps of Mount Vernon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Viola Beckemeyer; a foster son, Bill "Bub" Phelps on Sept. 2, 2004; and a great-grandson, Matthew Ryan Phelps.

Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with the Rev. Jeff Dimatties officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens cemetery in Mount Vernon. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the Tucker Funeral Home. Visitation at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Memorial Gardens in Mount Vernon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association.

Donald C. Pinkley

TOLEDO, Ohio - Donald Pinkley, 75, of Toledo died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio at Perrysburg. Donald was born in Toledo on April 7, 1929, to Harold C. and Carrie L. (Kerchevall) Pinkley. He was educated in Toledo schools, graduated from Waite High School in 1947 and attended Toledo University. In 1948, he began working full time as a traffic clerk for the Pinkerton Tobacco Co. (Red Man Chewing Tobacco) and worked in sales, accounting, payroll, etc. He was promoted several times to office manager/secretary, vice president, manufacturing and vice president of administration. The company moved to Kentucky in 1973. Donald retired in 1985 to a small farm in Beaver Dam and moved back to Toledo in 2001. Donald was in the Naval Reserve for three years, ranked as seaman 1st class. He also served in the Army during the Korean War, with three years active duty and 11 years in the Reserve. He left the service in 1966, ranked as captain CE.

He belonged to many organizations. In Toledo the memberships included being past commodore of the Jolly Roger Sailing Club, Toledo Ice Yacht Club and Associated Yacht Club; Coast Guard Auxiliary; Harbor Light Lodge No. 746 F&AM for 50 years; OES Stella Chapter No. 150 (May Elliott) for 36 years; Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo for 50 years; Zenobia Shrine, Toledo for 50 years; Zenobia Directors Staff 1958 (life member); Hillbilly, Turkeyfoot Clan No. 75; Wally Walleye Toledo Lodge No. 1 and the Dirty Dozen (director's staff). In Kentucky his memberships included Owensboro Rotary; Owensboro Boys Club; Kentucky Colonel; Junior Achievement, Advisor; Livermore Lodge No. 186 F&AM PM-Secretary; Kentucky Past Masters Association; Rizpah Shrine in Madisonville, Dual Member in 1973; Rizpah Directors Staff in 1974, Director in 1984, Director Emeritus in 2002; Owensboro Shrine Club/Owensboro Clowns; Ohio County Shrine Club, Secretary & Clowns; El Hasa Director Staff Life Member; Road Runners - Lexington/Cincinnati Hospital; Jesters-Court No. 171; Order of Q; Created "Rizpah Camel Chip Stomping Team;" Rizpah Shriner of the Year in 1992; S.D.A. Director of the Year in 2002; and S.D.A. Critique Committee in 1992. He also belonged to the Order of HA-YA-KA-WA and the Pusan Masonic Club (life member).

Donald married Sharron Lynn Durfey on Sept. 15, 1956, and she survives him. He is also survived by his brother, Howard (Mary) Pinkley; his mother-in-law, Bernice Durfey; brothers-in-law, Frank (Deanna) Durfey and Jesse (Mary) Durfey; and many aunts, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

The family will receive visitors in the David R. Jasin Funeral Home, 5300 N. Summit St. (419-726-1583) today, Sept. 7, 2004, from 2 to 8 p.m. EST, with Masonic services at 7 p.m. EST and Shrine services at 7:30 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.jasinfuneralhome.com. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Wednesday, Sept. 8, at noon EST with Pastor David Rushton officiating. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. BEAVER DAM - Lewis S. Lee, 85, of Beaver Dam died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004, at Ohio County Hospital in Hartford. He was a retired farmer, a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Beaver Dam and an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two sons, Lewis Neal Lee and Guy Lee.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial: Taylortown cemetery in Ohio County. Visitation: From 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
