Allene Donovan Mazzara

Allene Donovan Mazzara, 74, of 116 W. 21st St., Owensboro, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in Bremen on April 20, 1930, to the late Edgar Allen and Louise Neal Donovan. She was raised by her aunt, the late Eloise Smith. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, where she was an active volunteer and was also an active volunteer at Cornerstone Counseling. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Mazzara, on Nov. 25, 1963; and by a brother, E.A. Donovan.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ed Mazzara; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Jim Ed Burris of Owensboro, Donna and Mark Clark of Memphis and Allyson and Garry Pitt of Owensboro; five grandchildren; two sisters, Gay Camp of Owensboro and Ann Bass of Huntsville, Texas; and a brother, Bud Donovan of Owensboro.

Services are at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at First Baptist Church in Owensboro. Entombment will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today at James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to memorial fund of First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 904, Owensboro, KY 42302-0904 or to Cornerstone Counseling, 2720 Frederica St., Owensboro, KY 42301.

Mary Rose Tindle

CLOVERPORT - Mary Rose Tindle, 80, of Fordsville, formerly of Hawesville, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, at Fordsville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was a member of Tell City (Ind.) Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, O.W. Junior Tindle; two sons, Damion Micheal Tindle and Frankie Junior Tindle; two stepsons, James Walter Tindle and Rick John Tindle; three stepdaughters, Sandra Kay Daughty, Lena Mae Cole and Brenda Sue Embry; a brother, Thomas Hurst; and seven sisters, Elizabeth Boling, Opal Cartwright, Nancy Chancellor, Lona Embry, Zella Ruth Emery, Dolly Mattingly and Katherine Newton.

Services: 2 p.m. Saturday at Wallace Funeral Home in Hardinsburg. Burial: Cloverport cemetery. Visitation: From 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Allie Renee Roberts

Allie Renee Roberts, 7-month-old daughter of Ashley Bolen and Jarred Roberts of Lewisport, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, at Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville. She was born March 26, 2004.

Additional survivors are her grandparents, Pam and James McGee, Ricky Bolen, Johnny and Sherry Roberts and John and Debbie Miller, all of Lewisport; great-grandparents, Dorothy and the late Troy Schroader, Authur Jr. Bolen, Lula Bolen and Betty and Harry Roberts, all of Lewisport, and Ralph and Pat Voyles of Hawesville; aunts and uncles, Angel Bolen, Scarlett Wilson, Christy Roberts, A.J. Bolen, Johnathan Roberts, Chic Roberts, Jason and Kyle Deck, Brian Wilson and Buddy Roberts; and two cousins, Lara and Lexie Roberts.

Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, at Taylor-Raymond-Spear Funeral Home in Lewisport, with Brother Roger Jarboe officiating. Burial will be in Lewisport cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Thurman W. Ellis

DAYTON, Ohio - Thurman W. Ellis, 81, formerly of Sacramento, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, at the Dayton V.A. Medical Center.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at Poplar Grove cemetery in McLean County. Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home in Dayton is in charge of arrangements.

Wilma L. Ayer

Wilma L. Ayer, 94, of Hermitage Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Owensboro, passed away Dec. 2, 2004. She was born June 10, 1910, the daughter of the late Eugene A. and Rosa Edwards Lytle of McLean County. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Owensboro. She attended Calhoun High School and Western Kentucky University at Bowling Green. She taught school for 40 years, having taught at Rumsey, Livermore and Utica, and in California and Cincinnati, where she retired in 1975. She was preceded in death by her first husband, V. Lavelton "Tote" Lee, in 1973, and second husband, Noble Ayer, in 1996; by a brother, Aaron F. Lytle; a sister, Elizabeth "Bess" Galloway; and a nephew, Richard E. Galloway.

Survivors include a sister, Ava L. Bivins of Owensboro; a brother-in-law, Forest N. Galloway of Florida; a niece, Linda Galloway Hopkins of New York; nephews, Wayne L. Bivins and David L. Bivins, both of Owensboro, and Gary L. Bivins of Alpharetta, Ga.; and great-nieces and nephews.

Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, at James H. Davis Funeral Home chapel in Owensboro. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after noon Sunday at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Kentucky Baptist Homes for Children, P.O. Box 36570, Louisville, KY 40233-9909, or to Oneida Baptist Institute, P.O. Box 67, Oneida, KY 40972.

William W. 'Billy' Martin

William W. "Billy" Martin, 78, of Owensboro died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, at Bon Harbor Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Beaver Dam, retired from Raines Shoe Hospital, was a member of Barnes Chapel United Methodist Church and an Army veteran.

Survivors include three sons, William D. Martin, Don R. Martin and Charles W. McHenry; a daughter, Stephanie L. Smith; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, James C. Martin; and four sisters, Jean Smith, Vitula Rife, Thelma Montgomery and Peggy Martin.

Services are at 1 p.m. Thursday at Asbury United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church with Masonic Rites at 7 p.m. Wednesday. McFarland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Theresa Lorinda Isbill Settles

Theresa Lorinda Isbill Settles, 67, of 2630 Hayden Road, Owensboro was called home by Our Lord on Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born Sept. 30, 1937, in Daviess County to the late Walter Louis Isbill Sr. and Mary Ernestine Gerteisen Isbill. She was a member of SS. Joseph & Paul Catholic Church.

She had worked for Wyndall's Grocery, manager of Wyndall's Wonder Whip, manager for Kings Department Store, manager of Holiday Inn Hotel, a consultant for Queens Way Fashions, a switchboard operator for Eck Miller Trucking Co. and co-owner of Now and Then Antique Shop with her husband. She enjoyed buying and selling antiques, bingo and gardening. She especially loved being around children, family and making the elderly comfortable and happy.

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Louis Isbill Sr. in 1984; and five siblings, Mary Louis Isbill Roby in 1984, Mary Bernadette Isbill in 1959, Joseph Ernest Isbill in 1949 and a brother and sister who both passed away in infancy.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Robert E. Settles Sr.; a son, Robert Settles Jr. of Owensboro; her mother, Mary Ernestine Gerteisen Isbill of Owensboro; three brothers, Walter Louis and Mary Catherine Edge Isbill Jr. of Knottsville, Robert A. and Melanie Campbell Isbill of Owensboro and E. Thomas Isbill of Knottsville; three sisters, Elizabeth A. and Thomas E. Johnson of Philpot, Nancy A. and Steve Meisenhelder of Centertown and Charlotte J. Isbill of the Bishop Soenneker Home in Knottsville; and many beloved nieces, nephews and close family members.

Funeral services will be held at SS. Joseph & Paul Catholic Church on Wednesday, Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. William cemetery in Knottsville. Visitation will be held today from 2 to 8 p.m. and after 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Prayers will be said at 7 p.m. on today.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the SS. Joseph & Paul Catholic Church Restoration Fund.

Ella Jean Trimble

LIVERMORE - Ella Jean Trimble, 88, of Livermore died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, at Professional Care Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Hartford. Ella Jean Render was born Sept. 12, 1916, in Ohio County to the late Herbert and Annie Render. She was a 1934 graduate of the former Livermore High School and was later married to Callis Gail Trimble in 1937. Ella Jean was a homemaker and member of Livermore Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and attending senior citizens. Her husband, Gail Trimble, died Sept. 28, 1974.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, Ronald Trimble of Limestone, Fla., Render and Ann Trimble of Island and Conrad and Barbara Trimble of Livermore; a daughter, Gwynne Gardener of Island; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel, with the Rev. Roy Day officiating. Burial will be in Waltons Creek cemetery in Ohio County. Friends may visit with the Trimble family from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Musters in Livermore.

Kimberly Sue Payne

JEFFERSONTOWN - Kimberly Sue Payne, 42, of Jeffersontown died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004. She was born in Daviess County. She was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Louisville. She was a nurse at Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville. She enjoyed gardening, watching her children play sports and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Alex Payne; a son, Caleb, at home; two daughters, Molly and Emma Payne, at home; parents, Jim and Mary Ann Higdon of Whitesville; her mother-in-law, Mae Payne of Owensboro; three sisters and brother-in-laws, Karla and Mark Brown of Philpot, Kathy and Kenny Roberts of Knottsville and Beth and John Orta of Elkin, N.C.; a brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Donna Higdon of Whitesville; and several nephews and nieces.

Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Whitesville. Burial will be in St., Mary cemetery. Visitation is after 2 p.m. today at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville. Prayers will be said at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Kosair Children's Hospital.

Elbert Blanchard

HARTFORD - Elbert Blanchard, 68, of Hartford died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at Ohio County Hospital in Hartford. He was born in Ohio County and retired from the military. He was employed by Fleur-Daniel as a medium equipment operator and was a member of the Baptist faith. He was an Army veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars.

Survivors include his wife, Hallie Lindsey Blanchard; five sons, Thomas Wayne Blanchard of Smith Mills, Charles Alfred Blanchard of Bloomington, Ill., Virgil Lee Voyles of Tell City, Ind., and Gary Ray Leach and Phillip Edward Leach, both of Bloomington; three daughters, Sandra Blanchard of Richland, Ind., Karen Napier of New Albany, Ind., and Nancy Hunt of Hartford; six brothers, Willis Blanchard of Beaver Dam, Alfred Randall Blanchard of Vine Grove, Glenn Blanchard of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Rodney Blanchard of Richland, Mo., and Darrell Frances and Kendall Frances, both of Beaver Dam; two sisters, Louva Everly of Beaver Dam and Christine Sauer of Owensboro; 22 grandchildren, Justion Voyles, Trent Voyles, Lenard Voyles, Jason Voyles, Vincient Voyles, Travis Blanchard, Autumn Blanchard, Adam Blanchard, Shelby Blanchard, Felicia Hardesty, Ben Maya, Al Maya, Elizabeth Maya, Corey Blanchard, Zachary Blanchard, Aaron Leach, Alex Leacy, Gary Leach II, Alex Leach, Nathan Leach, Kelsey Leach and Mackenzie Leach; and five great-grandchildren, Jocqua Blanchard, Joscelyne Blanchard, Ronnye Maya, Raynna Maya and Chance Davis.

Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial will be in Sunnyside cemetery in Beaver Dam with military honors. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
