Charles J. Schooler Sr.

Charles J. Schooler Sr., 79, of Owensboro, formerly of Hammond, Ind., died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at Hillcrest Healthcare Center in Owensboro. He was born in Clark County to the late Walter and Stella (Willoughby) Schooler. He was a Christian and had been employed by Murphy Miller Co. He was a World War II veteran of the Marine Corps and a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Bernadette Schooler, in 2002, by his second wife, Mildred Aud Schooler, in 1993; and by a son, Michael Schooler.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Karen Schooler of Newburgh, Ind.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and Jerry Kennedy and Pam and Charles Shaver, all of Owensboro; two stepchildren and their spouses, Patsy and Barney Dickens and Bobby and Vicky Aud, all of Owensboro; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Services are at 6 p.m. Friday, March 18, at James H. Davis Funeral Home chapel in Owensboro. Visitation is from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Nina Etta Shadwick Moore

LEITCHFIELD - Nina Etta Shadwick Moore, 77, of Leitchfield died Monday, March 14, 2005, at Breckinridge County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Daviess County and was a homemaker and member of Bethlehem Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, J.R. Moore; two daughters, Melissa K. Moore and Melanie Moore, all of Leitchfield; and three sisters, Mary June Glover, Nancy Estes and Kate Swain.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville. Burial will be in Providence Methodist Church cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
William Harold 'Bill' Lucas

LIVERMORE - William Harold "Bill" Lucas, 73, of Livermore died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Owensboro. He had worked as a truck driver.
Survivors include three stepsons, Billy Renfrow, Darrell Renfrow and Doren Renfrow; a brother, Preston Lucas; a half brother, Jehu Graham; and a half sister, Ellen Ruth Graham.
Graveside services: 2 p.m. today at Richland Baptist cemetery in McLean County. Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
Leonard Earl Linville

GRAHAM - Leonard Earl Linville, 70, of Graham died Monday, March 14, 2005, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. He was a crane operator and a member of Holiness Faith Church.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Whitehouse Linville; three sons, James Linville, Michael Linville and William Linville; four daughters, Ruby Romans, Letha Diann Hobbs, Jennie Inman and Sabrina Proctor; three stepdaughters, Dorothy Linville, Mary Gantt and Linda Sis; five brothers, Dean Linville, J.T. Linville, Herschel Linville, Buddy Linville and Bill Linville; and a sister, Virginia Linville.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday at Crossing Holiness Church. Burial: Fairmount cemetery in Central City. Visitation: After 5 p.m. Thursday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Lie in state: From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the church.
Edith Juanita Bartlett Jarvis

Edith Juanita Bartlett Jarvis, 81, of Owensboro was called home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, March 15, 2005. Mrs. Jarvis was born on May 18, 1923, to the late Jesse Clarence and Laura Theresa Bartlett. Aside from working at GE for 18 years, she was a military wife, mother, homemaker and a member of First Christian Church. Mrs. Jarvis was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Lynn Jarvis, in 1969; a daughter, Lisa Babette Jarvis; two sisters, Delores Jean Bartlett and Elizabeth Jane Bartlett; and three brothers, Ingram Wilton Bartlett, Robert Wilson Bartlett and Charles Freddie Bartlett.
She is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Lynn Jarvis and Sharon Gayle Husk, both of Owensboro; six grandchildren, Stacy Johnson, Renee Fiorella and husband, Jerry Pat, Brian East, Starr Houchin and husband James, Craig Roberts and Jessica Brockwell; seven great-grandchildren, Josh Johnson Arnold, Tanner Johnson, Laura Beth Fiorella, Chelcei East, Jade Brinson, Lilly Houchin and Erin Houchin; a sister, Shelba Faye Hall; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and dear family friends, Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Gail Pierce and family of Louisville.
Mrs. Jarvis enjoyed watching NASCAR races, visiting friends in Louisville and spending time with her family and all of her babies. Aside from raising and caring for her own children, Mrs. Jarvis had a hand in caring for nearly every child within her family. No one was a stranger in her home, everyone was welcome. She touched many lives through the years and left a lasting memory of the special woman she was. When there were lessons to be taught or learned, she was a great teacher. She earned her wings. Her spirit will travel on the wings of a dove, guiding her towards the stairway to heaven, where she will find her eternal home.
Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Friday, March 18, at James H. Davis Funeral Home chapel, with burial following in Rosehill cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Shriners' Hospitals for Children, 1900 Richmond Road, Lexington, KY 40502.
Vernus Eldora Crick

MADISONVILLE - Vernus Eldora Crick, 71, of 127 W. Noel Ave., Madisonville, died Monday, March 14, 2005, at 7 a.m. at her home. She was born Aug. 19, 1933, in Depoy, the daughter of Oliver Crick and Bertha Marie Shutt Crick. She was a homemaker and a member of Faith Tabernacle Church in Madisonville.
She is survived by two brothers, Larry Wayne Crick and J.C. Crick, both of Madisonville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 17, at Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville, by Brother Albert Bratcher. Burial will be in Friendship cemetery in Greenville. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Katie L. Hidenrite, 83, of 325 Segrave Drive, Daytona Beach, formerly of Owensboro, died Saturday, March 12, 2005, at Good Samaritan Center in Florida. She was born Feb. 19, 1922, in Breckinridge County to the late Hardin and Effie (Stillwell) Soper. She was of the Baptist faith. Many remember Katie for her Labor Day and Memorial Day garage sales. She was preceded in death by her husband, Parvin Hidenrite, on Sept. 26, 1997.
She is survived by four sons, Ed Hidenrite and Gary Hidenrite, both of Rockport, Ind., and Bruce Hidenrite and Mark Hidenrite, both of Owensboro; a daughter, Katie Ann Mentor of Ormond Beach, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Wilhelmina Duncan of Maceo.
Graveside services are at noon Saturday, March 19, at Elmwood cemetery in Owensboro. There will be no visitation. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Alzheimer's Association, Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter, 3703 Taylorsville Road, Louisville, KY 40220-1330. James "J.B." Edge, 74, of Whitesville died Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in Daviess County and was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. He retired from the Daviess County Road Department after 37 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Betty Sue Christian Edge; his children, Karen Thompson of Owensboro, Lisa Clark of Philpot, Mike Edge of Owensboro and Steve Edge of Whitesville; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 8:30 a.m. Friday at Cecil Funeral Home, with prayers at 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Clara Bell Eley, 92, of Whitesville died Friday, March 18, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in Chapman, Kan., and was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading and making hairpin lacing. She was preceded in death by Harold Clauson Sr. and Glen Eley.
Survivors include three sons, Harold Clauson of Owensboro, Vernon Clauson of Canyon City, Colo., and Richard Clauson of Columbus, Ga.; four daughters, Laura Ratliff of Lexington, Glenda Howard of Whitesville, Judy Logan of Canyon City and Mary Milton of Banks, Ala.; 26 grandchildren; 86 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Laura Smith of Mission, Texas.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville with burial in Cates cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Monday at Cecil Funeral Home.

Barbara Ann Manson, 61, of 419 W. Ninth St., Owensboro, died Thursday, March 17, 2005, at Hillcrest Healthcare Center. She retired from the Army as an administrator.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel Mason; two sons, Danny L. St. Clair and Timmy St. Clair; a daughter, Lee Ann St. Clair Roby; a brother, Eddie Hillard; and three sisters, Jean Hillard, Jan Blair and Marie Nelson.

BREMEN - Ethel E. Hancock, 101, of Bremen died Saturday, March 12, 2005, at Brighton Corner Stone Health Care in Madisonville. She retired as head cook from Bremen School and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Bremen.
Survivors include a son, Robert Hancock; and a daughter, Ola Mae Clark.
