BEAVER DAM - Reola Blanch Baize, 88, of Beaver Dam died Saturday, April 30, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include four sons, Harold C. Baize, LeRoy Baize, Gerald Baize and John Henry Baize; four daughters, Augustine Napier, Carolyn Havens, Mary Lou Hines and Beula Dean Baker; and a sister, Delia Wood.

Services: 2 p.m. Monday at William L. Danks Funeral Home chapel in Beaver Dam. Burial will be in Ezell cemetery in Renfrow. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Eva Jean Snyder Powers

HAWESVILLE - Eva Jean Snyder Powers, 86, of Hawesville died Thursday, April 28, 2005, at her home. She was born March 3, 1919, in Hancock County to the late Hillary Jack and Nannie Nix Snyder. She was a member of Hawesville Baptist Church. Eva Jean and her husband, Richard Austin Powers, built and operated the Riverview Restaurant from 1969 to 1981. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Austin Powers; two daughters, Jean Austin Powers and Connie Powers Butterfield; a brother, Sherman Snyder; and a sister, Jeanette Nemec.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald Powers of Owensboro and Wendell Powers of Hawesville; two daughters, Judy Andrews of Owensboro and Terri Bush of Hawesville; 16 grandchildren, Tracy Kessler, Rhonda Dame, Kelly Harger, Jama Parchment, Jason Powers, Amy Powers, Natalie Powers, Allan Powers, Matthew Powers, Phillip Powers, Mark Andrews, Luke Andrews, Brian May, Jackie Daughtery, Ryan Bush and Josh Bush; 19 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Heavrin Snyder of Columbia, S.C., Jackie Snyder of Hawesville and Danny Snyder of Destin, Fla.; and a sister, Janie Sanders of Evansville.

Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 1, at Hawesville Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Ross and Dr. James Wedding officiating. Burial will be in Mount Eden Baptist Church cemetery near Hawesville. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Gibson & Son Funeral Home in Hawesville. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hawesville Baptist Church. Memorial contribution envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Fanny Moretti Paris

Fanny Moretti Paris, 81, of Owensboro, was called home Thursday, April 28, 2005, at Hermitage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born June 3, 1923, to the late Hugo and Assunta Lastrucci Moretti in Florence, Italy. She was a member of Nickel Ridge Church, a homemaker and was a dedicated wife and mother. She loved being with her family, also enjoyed cooking and spending time with her pet, Coco.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert E. Paris, who died Sept. 27, 1999.

Survivors include one son, Michael Bruce "Brewster" Paris of Owensboro; one daughter, Kimberly Renee Sosh and her husband Gary of Whitesville; one grandson, Joshua A. Sosh; two stepsons, Albert Daniel Paris of Henderson and Lonnie Paris of Owensboro; three stepdaughters, Lois Kincaid, Martha Sims and Joyce Peay, all of Owensboro; 24 stepgrandchildren; 31 stepgreat-grandchildren; one sister, Leonetta Moretti of Florence, Italy; and one nephew, Paulo Dante of Italy.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home with entombment in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after noon Sunday at the funeral home.

Charles Walton Osborne

Charles Walton Osborne, 80, of 1405 E. Fourth St., Owensboro, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2005, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born in Daviess County to the late Thomas C. and Pauletta Hamilton Osborne. He was a member of SS. Joseph & Paul Catholic Church and was a Navy veteran of World War II where he was a motor machinist mate and served on the USS Dorchester. He was the founder and owner of the former Star TV, the former Davco Liquor Store in Stanley and the former Leisure Cruise Marina in Kuttawa. He ran the family farm at a very young age and he successfully raised a family of 12. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, champion marksman, loved Labrador retrievers and had a passion for reading. Mr. Osborne said, "I traveled all over the world in my books." He also invested in the stock market. He was a director and former president (2004) of Owensboro Rifle & Pistol Club and a member of the National Rifle Association. He was preceded in death by a son, Ted Osborne on July 16, 1978; and two sisters, Delphine Osborne and Catherine Bosley.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Marilyn Theresa Norris Osborne; three daughters, Shirley (Ernie) Taliaferro, Patricia Murphy and Caroline (Kenneth) Clark, all of Owensboro; six sons, Ronald Osborne and Alan Osborne, both of Owensboro, Tony Osborne and Eric Osborne, both of Nashville, Michael (Jane) Osborne of Raleigh, N.C., and Kenneth (Jan) Osborne of Lexington; 20 grandchildren, Matthew Taliaferro, Kara Baughman, Ryan, Allison, Jordan and Katlyn Taliaferro, Michael, Katherine, Jessica Osborne, Amanda Hancock, Lori Erozan, Ben, Josh and Ashley Murphy, Austin, Jacob and Wesley Osborne, Cassidy, Aubrey and Nick Clark; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Lucille Tong of Owensboro; and five brothers, George (Patty) Osborne of Owensboro, James "Buddy" Osborne of Loogootee, Ind., Thomas (Jean) Osborne of Santa Ana, Calif., Albert (Mary) Osborne of Escondido, Calif., and David Osborne of Sevierville, Tenn.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 2, at SS. Joseph & Paul Catholic Church with burial in Resurrection cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday with prayers at 7 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Daviess County Public Library, 450 Griffith Ave., Owensboro, KY 42301 or to Brescia University, 717 Frederica St., Owensboro, KY 42301.

Martha Raley Johnson

Martha Raley Johnson, 86, of Ridgewood Terrace, Madisonville, formerly of Hopkinsville, died Friday, April 29, 2005, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. She was born March 17, 1919, in Muhlenberg County and was a homemaker and member of First United Methodist Church in Hopkinsville. She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Howard Leach in 1973; her husband Odell Johnson in 1994; her parents, Oda Dee and Gertie Raley; a brother, Richard Raley; and two sisters, Lucille Devivo and Connie Payne.

Survivors include three sons, William P. "Bill" Leach of Madison, Ala., Max Leach of Campbellsville and John Leach of Tulsa, Okla.; a stepson, Dr. E.B. Johnson of Boston; a stepdaughter, Nora Jordan of Virginia Beach, Va.; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Helen Taylor of Central City and Kay Underwood of Greenville.

Services are at 10 a.m. Monday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with the Rev. Gary Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Hopkinsville. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Keith Edward Miller

CENTRAL CITY - Keith Edward Miller, 45, of 2558 Kentucky 81, Central City, died at 4:32 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. He was born Jan. 7, 1960, in Hopkins County. He was a route salesman for Goldenrod Milk Co. and was a member of USWA Local 14746-02 where he was recording secretary. He was also a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and enjoyed horseback riding, training and shoeing horses, motorcycling, and he loved spending time with family and was a driver of the Bethlehem Church van and was a VBS worker.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Lynn Morris Miller of Central City; a daughter, Keisha Lynn Miller of Central City; two sons, Travis Keith Miller and Clint Nelson Miller, both of Central City; his parents, Harry and Betty Jo Miller of Sacramento; two brothers, Brian (LaVonne) Miller and Jeff Miller, both of Sacramento; many aunts and uncles; many cousins; and many nieces and nephews.

Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with the Rev. Leroy Rearden officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem cemetery in Bremen. Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City.

Rosina Payne Clark

Rosina Payne Clark, 77, of Owensboro died Thursday, April 21, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System of injuries sustained in a fall. Born Dec. 6, 1927, in Daviess County, Mrs. Clark was the daughter of the late Lucian Arthur and Lucien M. Johnson Payne. She was a homemaker and member of Immaculate Catholic Church. She had worked at G.E. from 1945 to 1964. She had volunteered with the Shively Ball Park concession stand and the Owensboro Youth Hockey League and loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Braden Peercy; a sister, Geneva Pate; and three brothers, W.A. Payne, Joe Payne and Jerry Payne.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, William L. "Bill" Clark; a son, David and his wife Shannon Clark of Owensboro; two daughters, Donna O'Flynn and Kay and her husband Randy Peercy; eight grandchildren, Todd O'Flynn, Amanda Clark, Jennifer O'Flynn, Hadley Clark, Andrew O'Flynn, Will O'Flynn, Jeff Peercy and Jeremy Peercy; two great-grandchildren, Blake Peercy and Trayson Peercy; three brothers, Eddie and Janet Payne, Roland and Sue Payne and Robert and Patsy Payne; four sisters, Willa Mae and Harry Roberts, Mary Jane and Charlie Young, Alice and Louis Weise and Gretta Van Bussum; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2005, at Immaculate Catholic Church with burial in Resurrection cemetery. Visitation will be at Glenn Funeral Home from 1 to 8 p.m. on Sunday and after 8:30 a.m. on Monday. Prayers will be said at 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to Immaculate Catholic Church.

Lovell Carroll Everly

CENTRAL CITY - Lovell Carroll Everly, 68, of Central City died Friday, April 22, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was a retired cement mason from Local 566.

Survivors include his companion, Geneva Baize; and a daughter, Della.

Graveside services: 2 p.m. today at New Hope cemetery in Moorman. Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions: Lovell Carroll Everly Memorial Fund, c/o Muster Funeral Homes, P.O. Box 228, Livermore, KY 42352.

James Percy Custer

James Percy Custer, 49, of 2206 McFarland Ave., Owensboro, died Friday April 22, 2005. Mr. Custer was an Army veteran, formerly worked at Clark Security and was a member of the American Legion and a Kentucky Colonel. He attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

He is survived by his children, Matthew Custer, Justina Murray Custer, Roseanna Payne and Alexander Joseph Custer; his parents, Percy and Anna Custer; grandchildren, Katelyn Custer, Zachary Tyler Custer, Joshua Daniel Custer, Jeremiah Joseph Custer; a brother, Michael Custer; a sister, Donna McDaniel; and a niece, Anna Marie McDaniel, all of Owensboro.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Glenn Funeral Home and after 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Everett W. Beatty

HAWESVILLE - Everett W. Beatty, 56, of Hawesville died Wednesday, April 21, 2005, at his home after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Grayson County on Jan. 15, 1949, to the late Mitchell and Doris Duggins Beatty. He retired from Commonwealth Aluminum in 2002 and was a member of West Point Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, David Beatty in 1993; and a daughter Dana Michelle Beatty in 1996.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Betty Howard Beatty; a grandson, Cory Dale Beavin of Fordsville; a sister, Jean Roof of Leitchfield; and a brother, Jerry Beatty of Caneyville.

Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 24, at Gibson & Son Funeral Home in Hawesville with Brother Denver Young officiating. Burial will be in Roseville cemetery. Visitation will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m. until service time.
