ROCKPORT, Ky. - William Adral Shaw, 90, of Greenville died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. He was a truck driver.
Survivors include a daughter, Kandi Brown; three brothers, Jerry Singleton, Donald Singleton and Bobby Singleton; and three sisters, Carrie Devine, Sylvia Bratcher and Wilda McCord.
Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial: Mason cemetery in Rockport. Visitation: After 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Charles 'Red' Adams

RICHMOND - Charles "Red" Adams, 80, of Curtis Pike died suddenly Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, at his home. He was born March 26, 1924, was a native of Madison County and son of the late John Will and Katherine Pigg Adams. He was a tobacco and cattle farmer in Madison County. He graduated from Madison High School and was a member of Kirksville Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Park Adams; two daughters, Betty Adams (Cliff) Worthington of Goldsboro, N.C., and Lura Adams Neukam (Roy) Locher of Philpot; a son, Charles Thomas Adams Jr. of Richmond; two granddaughters, Kara Worthington of Atlanta and Valerie Worthington of Richmond, Va.; and a grandson, Joshua Neukam of Philpot. He is also survived by a brother, William E. Adams of Richmond, and was preceded in death by a brother, Edgar L. Adams.
Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 1, at 10 a.m. EST at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, with Dr. J. Donald Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Richmond cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Alan Bundy, David Pigg, William L. Long, William D. Adams, Gordon Adams, Winifred Starnes, Carl Turner and Jud Patterson. Honorary bearers are Cecil Tussey, Bill Hagan and Stanley Wylie.
Troy C. Bybee

FRANKFORT - Services for Troy C. Bybee, 59, of Frankfort were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Good Shepherd Church on Leestown Road. He died Friday, Oct. 29, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Burial followed in Sunset Memorial Gardens. A native of Harlan, he was a retired placement manager for the Department of Corrections and was a member of Good Shepherd Church.
Survivors include his wife, Judith Bybee; four daughters, Jenny Smith of Tennessee, Pam Stephenson of Arkansas, Belinda Zander of Mississippi and Melissa Bybee-Fields of Frankfort; a son, Stephen Bybee of Frankfort; a brother, David Bybee, M.D. of Louisville; and 13 grandchildren.
He was the son of the late Troy C. Bybee Sr. and Eunice Smith Bybee. Father Pat Stewart officiated. Casketbearers were the members of Knights of Columbus. Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home on Versailles Road.
Marcus Golden Cockerell

RINEYVILLE - Marcus Golden Cockerell, 17, of Rineyville passed away Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, in Rineyville. He was a native of Daviess County, a student at Central Hardin High School and attended Grace Heartland Church.
He is survived by his mother, Tonya and James Ashley of Rineyville; his father, David Cockerell of Owensboro; two brothers, Jacob Cockerell of Owensboro and Dakota Ashley of Rineyville; eight sisters, Naomi Ashley of Rineyville, Bethany Ashley, Tabitha Ashley and Jade Ashley, all of Leitchfield, Marissa Devins, Breanna Cockerell, Kaylea Cockerell and Destiny Cockerell, all of Owensboro; his maternal grandmother, Susan and Wayne Payne of Owensboro; his maternal grandfather, Jerald Morris of Owensboro; and his paternal grandmother, Aliene Cockerell of Caneyville.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, Nov. 2, at noon EST at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, with the Rev. David Waddle and Clark Hewitt officiating. Burial will be in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 1, from 2 to 8 p.m. and will continue Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

DENVER, Colo. - Mrs. Shirley Lambert Dodge, 82, of Denver died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004, in Denver. She was born June 27, 1922, to the late Ike and Frostie Graves Lambert in Daviess County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund Dodge; three sons, Scotty, Sammy and Ronnie Dodge; and a daughter, Pam Dodge.
Survivors include a sister, Nancy Lambert Jones of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Private services were held in Denver. Glenn Funeral Home is helping with arrangements.

CENTERTOWN - Mikel R. Grider, 50, of Centertown died Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, at his home. He was a farmer and member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Beaver Dam.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Veteto Grider; a son, John Mikel Grider; his parents, Joe and Bertha Allen Grider; a daughter, Katelyn Grider; and two brothers, Joe Brent Grider and Dennie Lee Grider.
Services: 3 p.m. Tuesday at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial: Lone Star cemetery in Ohio County. Visitation: From 2 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Frances Rosa (Murphy) Head, 85, of Owensboro died Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, at her home. She was born July 30, 1919, in Daviess County to Joseph Thomas Murphy and Mary Augusta Bickwermert Murphy. She was a homemaker and member of Immaculate Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard F. Head, who died in 2002.
Survivors include a son, Herman and Maxine Head of Stanley; a daughter, Sister Julia Head, OSU, of Owensboro; four stepgrandchildren; two brothers, Herbert Murphy of Newman and Lawrence Murphy of Owensboro; three sisters, Mary Emma Blair of Owensboro, Mildred Allender of Evansville and Regina Lewis of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are at noon Monday, Nov. 1, at Immaculate Catholic Church. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home. Prayers will be said at 5 p.m. today. Burial will be in St. Peters cemetery. The Rev. Timothy Sweeney will officiate. ECHOLS - Lilbern B. "L.B." Taylor Jr., 79, of Echols died Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, at Ohio County Hospital. He was born in Ohio County and worked at Peabody Coal Co., Homestead Mines. He was a member of Pond Run Baptist Church, where he served as deacon for more than 40 years and was a member of Beaver Dam Lodge No. 420 F&AM for more than 50 years. He was a World War II veteran of the Marine Corps.
Survivors include his wife, N. Jeanette "Tootsie" Taylor; a son, Alan and wife, Marian, Taylor of Beaver Dam; a daughter, Dana and husband, David N. McGregor, of Echols; four brothers, Bob Taylor of Windemere, Fla., Jerry and wife, Betty Lou Taylor, of Altamonte, Fla., David C. and wife, Peggy Taylor, of Beaver Dam and Donald and wife, Betty Lou Taylor, of Crestwood; a sister, Defrosia and husband, Charles M. Richards, of Orlando, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Bryan McGregor, Austin Taylor and Crystal Taylor.
Services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial will be in Pond Run cemetery in Echols. Visitation is from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1, and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Masonic services are at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. BELTON - Alberta Pearson Baker, 90, of Belton died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. She was a homemaker and a member of Myers Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, David Baker; and four daughters, Lois Skipworth, June Dukes, Marilyn Hunt and Mary Alice Grace.

Anna Lucille 'Brownie' Bean

Anna Lucille "Brownie" Bean, 88, of Philpot died Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born Nov. 22, 1915, in Daviess County to Edward A. Brown and Anna McGuire Brown. She retired from General Electric and Ken-Rad and was an Avon representative for more than 40 years. She was a member of SS. Joseph & Paul Catholic Church and enjoyed cooking, quilting, collecting Avon bottles and spending time with family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmore Bean, in 1981; a son, Gary Bean, in 1985; two daughters, Sharon Bean, in 1951, and Judy Gail Bean, in 1945; a stepson, Eugene Bean, in 1997; five brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Larry and his wife, Jeannie Bean, of Owensboro and Joseph and his wife, Brenda Bean, of Philpot; a daughter, Patricia and Joe Hamilton of Philpot; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Mary Thomasine Smith and Mary Josephine Young, both of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are at 10 a.m. Monday at SS. Joseph & Paul Catholic Church. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home. LIVERMORE - James T. "Big Jim" Brown, 55, of Livermore died Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was a handyman.
Survivors include two brothers, Kenneth Ray Colburn and Otis Cary Renfrow; and three sisters, Cathy Colburn, Barbara McCoy and Alice Faye Michael.
