Robert J. Wind, 73, of Walton, died Sunday at his home. He was a retired manager of Gateway Motel, Covington, a member of Ralph Fulton VFW Post No. 6423, Elsmere, and Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption, Covington, and an Army veteran of World War II. His wife, Betty Edmonds Wind, died in 1968.

Survivors include daughters, Genie Edwards of Crestview Hills, Patti Bischoff of Edgewood and Jody Geisen of Florence; a sister, Alma Retschulte of Covington; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mary Queen of Heaven Church, Erlanger. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Ft. Wright.

Memorials are suggested to charity.

Ann Kreidler, ran Burlington restaurant

Everyone liked Ann U. Kreidler, the friendly woman who owned Kreidler's Grill across the street from the courthouse in Burlington.

"Many of the courthouse employees would have their lunches there every day," said a daughter, Mary Schneider of Covington.

"Everybody liked mom. She had a real nice personality, she was a smart woman."

Mrs. Kreidler, of Covington, died Monday at Baptist Convalescent Center in Newport. She was 93.

She grew up in Bellevue and married Giles Kreidler in 1924. The couple had four children.

They raised their family for a time in Bellevue and later moved to Covington, where they opened Kreidler's Delicatessen.

They owned and operated that establishment for several years before opening their restaurant in Burlington in 1957.

"My dad liked to cook, so they bought a restaurant and were very successful," Ms. Schneider said.

Mrs. Kreidler cooked, waited tables and did a variety of other tasks along with her husband until he died in 1962. She ran the restaurant on her own for 10 more years before retiring in 1972.

In her later years, Mrs. Kreidler enjoyed knitting and doing puzzles, Ms. Schneider said.

Other survivors include daughters, Ruth Risenbeck of Cincinnati and Jeanne Erpenbeck of Los Alamos, N.M.; a son, William Kreidler of Ft. Myers, Fla., 23 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Benedict Church, Covington. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Ft. Wright.

Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Shrine, 512 W. Saratoga St., Baltimore, Md. 21201.

Linnemann Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.

John Fred Coghill, 60, of Carrollton, died Monday at his home. He was a farmer and a member of Faith Community Church, Carrollton.

Survivors include brothers, Dale Coghill, Walter Coghill Jr. and Paul Coghill, all of Carrollton; and sisters, Betty Robbins of Carrollton and Bertha Imel of Indianapolis.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, Carrollton. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Carrollton.

Raymond Dennis, 68, of Cincinnati, died Tuesday at West Chester Health Care Center in Cincinnati.

Arrangements are pending at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence.

Betty Hester, 79, of Ft. Thomas, died at 1:35 p.m. Sunday at St. Luke Hospital East, Ft. Thomas. She was a retired bank clerk with First National Bank, Covington, and a former member of Holy Cross Church, Latonia. Her husband, Neal Hester, died in 1969.

Survivors include a son, Mike Hester of Newport; a brother, James Fritsch of Covington; a sister, Ruth Ruther of White Oak, Ohio; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Thursday at Carmel Manor Nursing Home, Ft. Thomas. Visitation will begin there at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Ft. Wright. Memorials are suggested to Carmel Manor Pastoral Department, 100 Carmel Manor Road, Ft. Thomas, Ky. 41075; or Transitions Inc., Madison Ave. and 16th St., Covington, Ky. 41011. Dobbling Funeral Home, Ft. Thomas, is handling arrangements.

Louis H. Lange, 81, of San Diego, formerly of Ft. Mitchell, died March 13 at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Lange; daughters, Mary Lou Baumgarten and Carol Sue Hotz, both of San Diego; sisters, Margaret Moss of Edgewood and Gerry Willman of Taylor Mill; and brothers, Edward Lange of Lakeside Park, Ferd Lange of Ft. Mitchell and Robert Lange of Park Hills.

Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. April 14 at Blessed Sacrament Church, Ft. Mitchell. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.

Callie Marie Pipes Loomis, 84, of Williamstown, died at 3:15 p.m. Sunday at her daughter's home in Williamstown. She was a retired waitress and a member of Cincinnati Waitress Union Local No. 276 and Vine Run Baptist Church, Grant County. A son, Robert Loomis, died in 1991.

Survivors include a son, William Loomis of Whitmore Lake, Mich.; a daughter, Barbara Brown of Williamstown; a sister, Anna Rae Dixon of Williamstown; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Swindler and Currin Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Memorials are suggested to Salvation Army, 2250 Park Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio 45212; or Fairhaven Rescue Mission, P. O. Box 761, Covington, Ky. 41012-0761.

Joseph E. Martin, 53, of Orlando, Fla., formerly of Covington, died Saturday at his home. He was a hotel night auditor and an Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Martin; sons, Joseph Martin of Denver and Ricky Martin of Valdosta, Ga.; a daughter, Tracy Horvath of Minot, N.D.; his father, Joseph L. Martin of Orlando; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Pine Castle Memorial Chapel in Orlando. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Osceola Memory Gardens, Kissimmee, Fla.

Roy McDaniel, 71, of Covington, died at 7:50 p.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit in Covington. He was a retired mail carrier with the U. S. Postal Service, Covington, and a member of the Standard Club and Latonia Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Brown McDaniel; a daughter, Kathleen Neltner of Alexandria; sons, Gregory McDaniel and Bradley McDaniel, both of Florence, and Stephen McDaniel and Douglas McDaniel, both of Covington; a brother, Roger D. McDaniel of Scottsdale, Ariz.; sisters, Mae Hopkins of Florence, Ruby Newton of Lexington and Betty Wiggins of Paris, Ky.; and 13 grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Swindler and Currin Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Charles Raymond "Sonny" McEntire, 55, of Florence, died at 7:50 a.m. Monday at his home. He was a member of New Banklick Baptist Church, Independence, and a member of Florence Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Clara B. Baker McEntire; daughters, Donna Wilke of Ft. Walton, Fla., Linda Cobb of Dry Ridge and Teresa Sizemore of Florence; sons, Charles David McEntire of Corinth, Kevin McEntire of San Diego and William Dillion of Elsmere; his father, James William McEntire; a sister, Emma Ruth Johns of Florence; a brother, Forest Lee "Butch" McEntire of Jacksonville, Fla.; a grandmother, Nettie Crouch of Madison, Ind.; and 12 grandchildren.

Harry A. McGhee, 68, of Erlanger, died Monday at Deaconess Hospital, Cincinnati. He was a senior chief machinist mate in the Navy, a stationary engineer with the U.S. Postal Service and a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a member of St. Paul Church, Florence.

Survivors include his wife, Mary McGhee; daughters, Katherine Bruns of Erlanger and Mary Ryan of Ft. Thomas; a son, Jim McGhee of Milwaukee; sisters, Elizabeth Hill of Jackson, Ohio, and Dorothy Starr of Milan, Mich.; and five grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Church. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Mausoleum, Erlanger.
