Bessie L. Stanton, 73, of Covington, died at 10 p.m. Thursday at Clermont Mercy Hospital, Batavia.
Survivors include a sister, Helen Hager of Withamsville, Ohio; and brothers; Frank Stanton, Fred Stanton, and Rev. Lee Stanton, all of Cincinnati, Robert Stanton of Knoxville, Tenn., Sam Stanton of Amelia, Ohio, and Henry Stanton of Butler, Ky.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Cawood Church of God, Cawood, Ky.
Visitation will be at there from 1:30 until 3 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Fields Family Cemetery, Cawood, Ky. C & C Mortuary, Covington, is handling arrangements.

Louise C. Winterberg, active in business, community organizations and family
Louise C. Winterberg, who used her drive and sense of adventure to propel herself through a life of business, community groups and family, died Friday at 85 at Madonna Manor Nursing Home in Villa Hills.
Mrs. Winterberg was constantly on the go, said her son, Nick Winterberg of Butler. She got her first job at age 16, selling plywood. During the Great Depression she taught piano.
"She taught us to pursue our dreams," Nick Winterberg said.
Mrs. Winterberg was a full-time mother, rearing six children on rural Riggs Road in Erlanger, until her husband, Nicholas E., was injured on the job in the 1950s. He worked for the railroad and was hit by a boxcar, said their son.
Mrs. Winterberg took a job; and the couple later formed Clay-Win Development, building homes and apartments.
Mrs. Winterberg moved to a cottage at Madonna Manor about five years ago, where she joined the Madonna Manor choir and member of the Benedictine Associates. She moved to the nursing home in October as her health began to fail.
Her husband and a son, John, both died in 1978. Other survivors include daughters, Betty Urban of Maryland, Ruth Ann Gressle of Independence and Sandy Byrnes of Frederick, Md.; brothers, Fred Clayton of Erlanger and Bill Clayton of Villa Hills; a sister, Rita Foley of Georgetown; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Madonna Manor; visitation at 10 a.m.; burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell. Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger, is in charge. Memorials are suggested to Madonna Manor, 2344 Amsterdam Road, Villa Hills 41017.

Mattie Hudson Becknell, 88, of Union, died Thursday at Woodspoint Nursing Home, Florence. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Chester Becknell, died in 1989.
Survivors include a son, Eugene Becknell of Union; brothers, Jesse Hudson of Connersville, Ind., Everett Hudson of Walton; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence, with visitation 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Richwood Presbyterian Cemetery.

Ethel E. Griffin, 90, of Newport, died Friday at Franciscan Hospital, Cincinnati. A homemaker, she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Cincinnati.
Survivors include daughters, Helen Pack of Loveland, Ohio, and Edna Georgelis of Blue Ash, Ohio; sons, Charles Newberry of Blanchester, Ohio, and John Newberry of Naples, Fla.; brothers, Clifford Wagner of Tennessee and Chester Wagner of Covington; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at noon Monday at Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Radel Funeral Home, Newport, is handling arrangements.

Nellie Gulley, 63, of Milton, died Friday at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton. A homemaker, she was a member of Carrollton Christian Church.
Her husband, Edward Gulley died in 1984. Survivors include daughters, Rita Gross of Carrollton and Stacie Hendricks of New Salisbury, Ind.; her mother, Daisy Robbins McDowell of Milton; a brother, David McDowell of Milton; three grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, Carrollton, with visitation from 10 a.m. Burial will be in Carrollton IOOF Cemetery.

Sylvia C. Hardy, 74, formerly of Covington, died at 11 p.m. Tuesday at the residence of her daughter, Beverly Cameron, in Lutz, Fla. She was a retired meat cutter for the former E.J. Schlachter Meats, Covington.
Her husband, William K. Hardy, died in 1980. In addition to her daughter, survivors include sons, Herbert Hardy of Covington, Gary Hardy of Ludlow and Danny Hardy of West Liberty; a brother, Harry Stallo of Spring Hill, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Church, Covington, with visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to the family, c/o the funeral home.

Luther Johnson, 75, of Independence, died Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North Hospice, Covington. He was a retired machinist for Cincinnati Mine Machine Co., an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Deliverance Church of God, Cincinnati.
Survivors include his wife, Goldie Johnson; daughters, Maxine Durham of Independence and Pam Adkins of Ashland; a son, Larry Johnson of Cincinnati; a sister, Lilly Carrara of Norwood, Ohio; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick, visitation 4 to 10 p.m. Sunday and burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.

Flora Helen Jones, 84, formerly of Ft. Mitchell, died Thursday at Woodspoint Geriatric Center, Florence. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Joseph Jones, died in 1982; a son, Joseph E. Jones, died in 1989.

Robert Lee Kelley, 74, of Ft. Thomas, died at noon Thursday at St. Luke Hospital East, Ft. Thomas. He was a retired manager of loss and damage claims for Kroger and a member of Fraternal Order of Elks Lodge No. 273, Cold Spring.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Carole Kelley; a daughter, Pam Gaynier of Southgate, Mich.; sons, Bob Kelley of Ft. Thomas and Rick Kelley of Louisville; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Vera Zerhusen Kleier, 76, of Ft. Thomas, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. A retired office worker for Acordia and Rauh, Cincinnati, she was a member of St. Thomas Church, St. Thomas Homemakers, CHRP, St. Thomas Bereavement Committee and the Disciples in Mission.
Her husband, Melvin C. Kleier, died in 1991. Survivors include sons, Mike Kleier of Cold Spring and Mark Kleier of Ft. Thomas; daughters, Melanie Mullens of Cincinnati, Myra Lafleur and Martha Graves of Ft. Thomas, Mary Ann Cope of Hamilton and Molly Gibson of Metchin, N.J.; a brother, John Zerhusen of Cheviot, Ohio; and 16 grandchildren.

Teresa E. Lightfoot, 89, of Latonia, died Thursday at Rosedale Manor Nursing Home, Latonia. She was a retired nurse's aide for St. Luke Hospital East, Ft. Thomas. Her husband, William Willard Walz, died in 1969. Two sons, Donald Walz and Jack Walz, and a daughter, Pat Walz, preceded her in death.
Survivors include sons, Wayne Walz of Latonia, Willard Walz Jr. of Long Beach, Calif., and Larry Lightfoot of Dayton; daughters, Joyce Duncan of West Harrison, Ind., Eunice E. Rechtin of Ft. Wright, Eileen Wilson of Bellevue and Carol Berkenhauer of Florida; and many grandchildren.
