Robert Jeffrey Wiles, 46, of Ludlow, died at 2:45 a.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington.
Survivors include a brother, Timothy Wiles of Jacksonville, Fla.
No services are planned. Cremation will be at Hillside Chapel, Cincinnati. Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association, 1885 Dixie Highway, Suite 250, Ft. Wright, Ky. 41011. Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence, is handling arrangements.

William Hill, Dayton volunteer firefighter
William B. Hill saw some terrible things as a member of the Dayton Volunteer Fire Department, but he never stopped loving the job.
For him, the worst was working the scene of the fire that killed 165 people at the Beverly Hills Supper Club. He helped pull the bodies from the fire, and protected them from looters.
But even that event did not extinguish his desire to do the dangerous work.
"He always wanted to be a fireman, even when he was a little kid," said a daughter, Tina Hill of Dayton. "He lived across the street from a fire department when he grew up."
Mr. Hill, 62, died at 12:20 a.m. Wednesday at his home. The Dayton man had cancer.
Mr. Hill was raised in Cincinnati and worked for the U.S. General Service Administration. He was a retired printing plant manager.
He met his second wife, Lola Early Hill, while working for the GSA. They were married for 32 years.
"He had a wonderful sense of humor. He always knew how to cheer us up," Tina Hill said. "I think that's what I'm going to miss most about him."
Mr. Hill got involved with the fire department soon after he married. He volunteered for more than 25 years, and eventually served as captain. Mr. Hill also enjoyed participating in the Henry Barnes Masonic Lodge No. 607 in Dayton, the Bob White Club, and other groups.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Dayton, and a past president of the American Federation of Government Employees. He also was a past Associate Grand Guardian of the Commonwealth of Kentucky for the International Order of Job's Daughters.
"I cannot name anyone that I know that disliked him," his daughter said. Everyone always spoke fondly of him."
Other survivors include his wife; daughters, Jackie Tucker of Erlanger, Cindy Scott of Cincinnati and Katie Hill of Dayton; a brother, Theothus Hill of Cincinnati; sisters, Mary Baldock of Elizabethtown, Ohio, Pat Williams of Cincinnati and Sylvia Lutz of West Chester, Ohio; a stepsister, Sandy Turk of Hudson, Fla.; a stepbrother, Scott Bennett of Holiday, Fla; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Dayton. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Bellevue. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.

Ethel Evelyn Haggard, 69, of Lake Wales, Fla., formerly of Kenton County, died Monday in Lake Wales. She was owner of Five Points Market, Auburndale, Fla.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathy M. Combs of Morning View; sons, Benny Haggard and Jack Haggard, both of Covington, and Timothy Haggard of Winter Haven, Fla.; her mother, Mabel M. Townsley of Lake Wales, Fla.; sisters, Geneva Grau of Las Vegas and Eunice Riley of Cincinnati; brothers, Russell Townsley of Boscobel, Wis., and Arnett Townsley of Florida; 10 grandchildren and four great- grandchildren.

Rose Josephine Hagen Hein, 100, of Dayton, died at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Carmel Manor Nursing Home, Ft. Thomas. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Anthony Church, Bellevue. Her husband, George A. Hein; sons, Charles Hein and Buddy Hein; and a daughter, Rose Carper, all preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Burke of Covington; sons, Robert Hein of West Chester, Ohio, Alfred Hein of Cincinnati and Lawrence Hein of Bellevue; 25 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Mary K. Lewis, 69, of Covington, died at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North Hospice, Covington. She was a homemaker and a member of Second Baptist Church, Newport. Her husband, John R. Lewis, died in 1970.
Survivors include sons, Charles Lewis of Cincinnati, and William Lewis, Roger Lewis, Billy Lewis and Lawrence Lewis, all of Covington; daughters, Johnnie Mae Little and Connie Lewis, both of Covington; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

George Elmer Mardis, 54, of Independence, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. He was a truck driver with Green Trucking Co., Latonia, and a member of the Briar Hollow Beagle Club.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Trinkler Mardis; daughters, Wendy Mardis, at home, and Melody Nienaber of Crittenden; sons, Terry Mardis of Independence and Jeffrey Mardis of Taylor Mill; brothers, Earl Mardis of Visalia and Gary Mardis of Independence; and nine grandchildren.

Hubbard Kavanaugh Moore, 76, of Taylor Mill, died at 12:55 p.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. He was a regional field manager with Sambo Co. and a Navy veteran of World War II.

Thomas Plew, 41, of Los Angeles, formerly of Carrollton, died Friday in Los Angeles. He was a computer science professor at Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, Calif., and a member of Neighborhood Christian Fellowship Wesleyan Church, Covina, Calif.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Plew; a sister, Susie Wilcox of Ashland; and brothers, Mike Plew of Worthville and James Plew of Riverside, Calif.

Robert Anderson "Andy" Simpson, 78, of Williamstown, died at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Cincinnati. He was a retired farmer, a member of Mt. Olivet Church of Christ and an Army veteran of World War II. His wife, Marcella Washum Simpson, died in 1995.
Survivors include sons, Rob ert Simpson of London, Ky., Alphonso Simpson and Rex Simpson, both of Dry Ridge, and Michael Simpson of Erlanger; a daughter, Judy Ann Simpson of Corinth; a brother, Albert "Mose" Simpson of Memphis, Tenn.; sisters, Evalyn Faulkner and Wilma Stetter, both of Dry Ridge; 23 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Harold E. Sterling, 66, of St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of Covington, died April 2 at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg. He was a school bus driver with the Pinellas County School System in St. Petersburg, and a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.

Helen N. Swimm, 71, of Southgate, died Wednesday at her home. She was a retired tax examiner with the Internal Revenue Service, Covington, and a member of Ft. Thomas Church of God International. Her husband, Elliott "Jack" Swimm, died in 1991.
