Larry Lamont "Monty" Penick, 42, of Park Hills, died at 11:55 p.m. Wednesday at his home. He was a postal carrier.

Survivors include a son, Carson L. Penick, at home; daughters, Emily M. Penick and Stacee J. Penick, both at home; his mother, Alberta E. Penick of Park Hills; a brother, William E. Penick of Florence; and a sister, Kathryn D. Hopkins of Springboro, Ohio.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Mon day at Swindler and Currin Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell.

Jean Ray, 69, of Aberdeen, Ohio, died Thursday at her home. She was an office manag er with Emerson Power Trans missions, Maysville; the retired manager of Riverbend Apart ments in Aberdeen, and a one time part owner of Browning's Trucking and Garage, Plumville.

Survivors include sons, Mike Browning of Erlanger, Tony Browning of Covington and Rob ert Wayne Browning of Cincin nati; a daughter, Lynda McKee of Flemingsburg; a brother, Don nie Morgan of Plumville; sisters, Geneva McClees and Pauline Ar nold, both of Lansing, Mich.; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sat urday at Brell and Son Funeral Home, Maysville. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Hillcrest Ceme tery, Maysville.

Sarah Ann Reid, 56, of Nash ville, Tenn., formerly of Pendle ton County, died Wednesday at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. She was a Kroger Co. employee in Brentwood, Tenn., and a member of Lakeshore Christian Church, Nashville.

Survivors include her hus band, Amerida Reid; sons, Brian Lee Reid of Falmouth, Patrick Todd Reid of Demossville, Dennis Allen Reid of Smyrna, Ga., Darrin Ray Reid of La Vergne, Tenn., and Michael Gene Reid of Nashville, Tenn.; her mother, Mary Kidwell Stahl of Demossville; sisters, Isabel Morehead of Demossville and Helen Holtkamp of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, Edwin Stahl of Demossville; and nine grand children.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Sat urday at Grassy Creek Christian Church, Pendleton County. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.

Memorials are suggested to American Diabetes. Association, 721 W. Main St., Louisville, Ky. 40202; or American Heart Associ ation, 1885 Dixie Highway, Suite 250, Ft. Wright, Ky. 41011. Wood head Funeral Home, Falmouth, is handling arrangements.

Norma Jean Ryder, 64, of Covington, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington.

Mabel Swartz, 89, of Flor ence, died at 11:55 p.m. Thursday at St. Luke Hospital West, Flor ence.

Norma Jean Ryder loved family and served county

Norma Jean Ryder succeeded in motherhood, career and political activities.

Mrs. Ryder, 64, of Ludlow, died at 3:40 a.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington.

Mrs. Ryder served as Kenton County deputy circuit clerk and excelled at her work. She worked in the driver's license department of the Erlanger office.

"She was always there and was a good worker," said Ed Schroeder, retired circuit clerk.

She was a member of the Kenton County Democratic Women's Club and the Kenton County Democrat Club.

Mrs. Ryder was born in Covington and lived her whole life in Northern Kentucky.

Her daughter, Jeanie Berlund of Cincinnati, said she succeeded as a nurturing mother and grandmother.

"She was just a great mom and a great grandmother. She'll be missed," her daughter said.

All six of her children stayed in Northern Kentucky or Cincinnati.

Mrs. Berlund said her mother campaigned for a number of candidates through the years. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting.

She also leaves her husband, Delmar I. Ryder; sons, Michael Meyer of Taylor Mill and David Meyer of Erlanger; other daughters, Terrie Meyer of Covington, Joanie Hagedorn and Joyce Meyer, both of Ludlow, and Pam Figart of Blanchester, Ohio; sisters, Mabel Ballinger and Ruth Hilligas, both of Covington; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.

Memorials are suggested to Boomer's Hero Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, No. 1 World Trade Center, New York, N.Y. 10048.

Mary Welch Bauscher, 88, formerly of Ft. Mitchell, died at 1:10 p.m. Thursday at Florence Park Care Center, Florence. She was a retired personal nurse for the former Booth Hospital, Covington and a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Ft. Mitchell.

Her husband, Chris W. Bauscher, died in 1974. Survivors include four nephews and one niece.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Visitation will begin there at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Ft. Wright. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, 7730 U. S. 42, Suite C6, Florence, Ky. 41042.

June T. Chioffe, 73, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Elsmere, died Wednesday at Manatee Memorial Hospital, Bradenton, Fla. She was a homemaker.

Her husband, Patrick Chioffe, died in 1994. Survivors include a son, Nick A. Chioffe of Sarasota; daughters, Bobbie A. Davis and Patty G. Butler, both of Sarasota; Billie J. Worster of Erlanger and Toni R. Dickhaus of Elsmere; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Visitation will begin there at noon Monday. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.

Austin Wayne Colvin, 6-day-old son of Tony and Shonda Smith Colvin of Falmouth, died Thursday at University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington.

Other survivors include a brother, Kenneth Colvin at home; sisters, Brandy Colvin, Alisha Colvin and Elizabeth Colvin, all at home; and grandparents, Charles and Sandra Smith and Vivian Colvin, all of Falmouth.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at People Funeral Home, Falmouth. Visitation will begin there at 1 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Falmouth. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

Dorothy Helen Gillispie, 74, of Florence, died Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.

Survivors include her husband, James Gillispie; a son, Jimmy Gillispie of Independence; a daughter, Debbie Walters of Sevierville, Tenn.; a sister, Dolly Miles; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.

Angela Heile Kirk, 86, formerly of Ft. Mitchell, died Thursday at Madonna Manor Nursing Home, Villa Hills. She was a retired bookkeeper for the Council on Alcoholism and a member of the Alcoholics Anonymous Fellowship.

Survivors include a daughter, Sister Mariana Kirk of Villa Hills; a brother, James E. Heile of Vero Beach, Fla.; and a sister, Mary Jo Hogan of Cincinnati.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Madonna Manor, Villa Hills. Visitation will be from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Madonna Manor. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to the Parish Kitchen, 141 Pike St., Covington, Ky. 41011.
