Robert Lee Bremenkamp, 62, of Florence, died Tuesday at his home. He was a machinist with Littleford Day Inc., Florence, and a member of United Paper Workers Union Local No. 7757, Florence.

Survivors include sons, Stephen Bremenkamp of Jacksonville, Fla., and Kenneth "Gus" Bremenkamp of Williamstown; daughters, Kimberly Line and Rebecca Cornelius, both of Alexandria; a sister, Mary Louise McKinley of Latonia; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, 7730 U. S. 42, Suite C6, Florence, Ky. 41042.

Marcia Ann Hinant, 38, of Elsmere, died at 9:23 a.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. Survivors include her parents, Robert T. Hinant of Ft. Wright and Phyllis Robinson Hinant of Inez; sisters, Susan L. Hinant of Elsmere and Judith Hayden of Lexington; and brothers, Robert L. Hinant of Euclid, Ohio, and James T. Hinant of Elsmere.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Ft. Thomas. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in First Baptist Cemetery, Cold Spring. Memorials are suggested to Markey Cancer Center, 800 Rose St., Lexington, Ky. 40508.

Sister Mary Julienne, S.N.D., 94, of Park Hills, died Wednesday at St. Joseph Heights, the Sisters of Notre Dame Provincial House in Park Hills. Sister Mary Julienne, formerly Margaret Rechtin, was an elementary school teacher with the Diocese of Covington and the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, having made her first vows in 1924.

Survivors include a sister, Miriam Vornhagen, and a brother, Joseph Rechtin, both of Cincinnati.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Sisters of Notre Dame Provincial House, Park Hills. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the convent, with a wake service at 5 p.m. Burial will be in the convent cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Sisters of Notre Dame, 1601 Dixie Highway, Park Hills, Ky. 41011. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.

Dorothy McNay, 58, of Demossville, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.

Arrangements are pending at Peoples Funeral Home, Butler.

Robert J. Palmer, 60, of Erlanger, died at 7:40 p.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. He was a warehouse crew leader with Owens-Brockway Containers, Cincinnati, and a deacon at Immanuel Baptist Church, Covington.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Palmer; sons, Robert Palmer of Barstow, Calif., and Keith Hall of Florence; daughters, Cheryl D. Palmer and Tabra L. Phillips, both of Cincinnati; a brother, Arthur J. Palmer of Cincinnati; a sister, Rita J. Sprankle of Kansas City, Mo.; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Immanuel Baptist Church. Entombment will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Highland Mausoleum, Ft. Mitchell, followed by prayers, and then services at the church. Don Catchen and Son Funeral Home, Elsmere, is handling arrangements.

Kenneth James Popham, 35, of Highland Heights, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Ft. Thomas. He was a communications specialist with American Airlines, Cincinnati, and an Air Force veteran. He was a member of Christian Awakening Program, and was a former big brother with the Diocese Children's Home Big Brother Program.

Survivors include his mother, Phyllis Metz Popham of Crestview Hills; sisters, Terrie La Marre of Erlanger, Mary Beth Wehage of Edgewood and Jami Popham of Ft. Mitchell; a brother, Steven J. Popham of Edgewood; and a grandmother, Mary M. Popham of Erlanger.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at St. Pius X Church, Edgewood. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to Nevus Outreach Inc., A Cure for Austin Zimmer, "Angels for Austin," P. O. Box 5921, Santa Maria, Calif. 93456-5921.

Eva Marguerite Rider, 82, of Covington, died at 2:08 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include sons, Earl Jordan of Ludlow and Frank Rider of Covington; a daughter, Maxine Ernst of Covington; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren.

Services will be at noon Friday at Don Catchen and Son Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.

Artie Littrell Roberts, 84, of Crittenden, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center Grant County, Williamstown. She was a retired waitress. Her husband, Alfred "Fuzzy" Roberts, preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, James R. Dickerson of Satsuma, Fla.; a daughter, Joann Dyer of Dallas; a sister, Ann Ray King of Florence; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge. Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Walton, is handling arrangements.

Alice Marie Turner, 76, of Walton, died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Orville J. Turner, died in 1985.

Survivors include sons, Kenneth R. Turner of Walton and Thomas Edward Turner of Williamstown; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Big Bone Baptist Cemetery, Union.

Thelma Finke Wells, 81, of Cincinnati, formerly of Covington, died at 2 a.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a retired beautician with Phyllis and Thelma's Beauty Shop, Covington.

Survivors include a daughter, Melinda L. Weeks of Cincinnati; a son, E. Paul Wells of Florence; a sister, Celine Finke Richard of South Bend, Ind.; and one grandson.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church, Crescent Springs. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association, 1885 Dixie Highway, Suite 250, Ft. Wright, Ky. 41011.

Melvin Eugene "Bud" Whiles, 72, of Alexandria, died at 6:14 p.m. Tuesday at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati. He was a retired United Parcel Service driver, and a member of Teamsters Local No. 100, Cincinnati. He was a member of Main Street Baptist Church, Alexandria, and a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Cecilia Whiles; sons, Ronald E. Whiles of Lakeland, Fla., and Thomas R. Whiles of Alexandria; a daughter, Janet Marie Insko of Wilder; a brother, John Ray Whiles of Alexandria; a sisters, Thelma Vater of Southgate; stepsisters, Frieda Dick and Annie Dick, both of Science Hill, and Clarice Watson of Cincinnati; six grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Main Street Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery. Woodrow Wilson Williams, 83, of Covington, died at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit in Covington. He was a retired custodian with Madison Avenue Baptist Church, and a former carpenter with Newport Welding Co. A son, Robert Williams, died in 1997.

Survivors include his wife, Hilda Mae Williams; sons, John F. Williams of Ludlow, Gary Lee Williams of Clarksville, Tenn., and Dennis Williams of Florence; a daughter, Mary Rogers of Covington; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Latonia Baptist Church. Cremation will be at Cincinnati Cremation Co. Memorials are suggested to Latonia Baptist Church, 3800 Church St., Latonia, Ky. 41015. Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.

Retired lawman Glenn Hurd loved animals, horse farm

Glenn "Sonny" Hurd of Falmouth loved taking care of the animals on his horse farm.

Mr. Hurd, 70, died Friday at St. Luke Hospital East, Ft. Thomas.

A native of Newport, he spent many years in law enforcement, as a Kentucky State Police dispatcher, a Campbell County patrolman and Falmouth police chief.

He also worked as a water hauler in Pendleton County.

Mr. Hurd was described by relatives as a outgoing man who loved all kinds of animals.

He was an Army veteran and a member of American Legion Post 109. His wife, Claudette Hurd, preceded him in death.

Survivors include a sister, Myrtle Strunk of Falmouth; and brothers, Douglas Hurd of Newport and Charles Hurd of Ft. Thomas.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Peoples Funeral Home, Grants Lick. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Grants Lick.
