Bellevue volunteer Rose A. Brauch, was granted last wish to see mother
Rose A. Brauch was able to realize her last wish - to see her mother for the first time in 28 years.
Mrs. Brauch, 45, of Bellevue, died Friday afternoon at her home.
Thanks to her husband, Robert, and members of the Bellevue Fire Department, which had a fund-raiser, Mrs. Brauch's mother, Anna Pasca, was able to travel here from Romania and spend the last few days with her daughter.
"She hadn't seen her mother in 28 years, and it was her last wish," said Robert Brauch.
Mrs. Brauch came to this country as a teen-ager, and worked for a relative, Joe Popp at the Joyce Ann Inn, Highland Heights, her husband said. "It's where we met," he said.
For seven years, until she was stricken with Lou Gehrig's Disease about a year ago, Mrs. Brauch was a nurse's aide with Lakeside Place Nursing Home, Highland Heights.
"She worked 16 hours a day sometimes. She worked with elderly people and Alzheimer's patients. Everybody loved her there," said her husband.
Mrs. Brauch was a charter member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Bellevue Fire Department. She was also a member of the Bellevue Boosters, at Bellevue High School, where all of her children attended.
Mrs. Brauch also coached volleyball with the Bellevue Vets.
"Before she was sick, she was very active in all of those things," said her husband.
Mrs. Brauch loved to go camping with her family, her husband said.
"She really loved to camp. We would go to Lake Cumberland, Kentucky Lake, Butler State Park and other places," said Robert Brauch.
In addition to her husband and mother, survivors include sons, Chris Brauch of Alexandria and Steven Brauch of Bellevue; a daughter, Lisa Brauch of Ft. Thomas; brothers, Simior Pasca and Gregori Pasca, both of Romania; and one grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Bellevue. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Vine Street Hill Cemetery, Cincinnati.

Fiddler Leroy Seiter, devoted to family
Leroy Seiter never learned to read music, but the fiddler was a respected musician who played on the stage at Northern Kentucky University and before crowds at Kincaid Lake State Park.
"He loved playing the fiddle," said his wife, Joyce Seiter of California, Ky. "His dad had been a fiddle player, and he used to take his dad's fiddle and sneak off to the barn and practice.
"He's played at so many places, it'd take forever to tell you."
Mr. Seiter died Monday at St. Luke Hospital East in Ft. Thomas. He was 66.
He grew up part of a large farming family in California. He developed his talent for music early, and it became a life-long passion.
Among the highlights of his musical career were his performances about 15 years ago in two plays at NKU, "Dark of the Moon" and "Diamond Studs." He also performed with the Orange Blossom Special at Kincaid Lake for about four years.
Mr. Seiter also was a self-employed plasterer for many years, and he was a respected and loved father, husband and friend.
Mr. Seiter married his wife in 1956, and the couple had six children, all of whom were raised in California.
In 1957, Mr. Seiter went into business for himself. In the 1970s, he also worked as a butch er at a meat-processing company in Mentor.
"He plastered thousands and thousands and thousands of homes. He did the seminary next to the archbishop's home in Norwood a few years back," Mrs. Seiter said.
After more than 10 years as a butcher and many more years working for himself, he "semi- retired," his wife said. He never stopped doing odd jobs for friends and family.
"He couldn't sit around. He was a fidgety sort of person. He always had to be doing something."
Mr. Seiter was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church in California and the Catholic Order of Foresters.
