Laura Mae Collins, 84, of Walton, died Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, James Acuff of Walton; a stepson, William Acuff of Washburn, Tenn.; sisters, Lena Slagle of Mascot, Tenn., Marie Cameron of Talbott, Tenn., and Mable Wilson of Strawberry Plains, Tenn.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Edna Pearl Crane, 91, of Maysville, died Monday at her home. She was a model with Hudson's Department Store in Detroit, a former employee of Chrysler Auto Works in Detroit during World War II and a nursing home volunteer. Her husband, Edward Crane, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a brother, Ivan F. Humphries of El Monte, Calif.

Orvan Forsyth, 72, of Covington, died at 5:30 p.m. Monday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. He was a pipe fitter with Newport Steel Co. in Wilder and a member of Newport No. 358 F&AM in Newport and Indra Consistory Valley of Covington Scottish Rite. He was an Army veteran of World War II. His wife, JoAnn Forsyth, died May 31.
Survivors include sons, Tim Forsyth of Covington, Melvin Forsyth of Hebron and Gary Forsyth of Newport; daughters, Debra Forsyth Ketcham of Ryland Heights and Sandra Forsyth Griffin of Kenton County; a brother, Melvin Forsyth of Taylor Mill; sisters, Alberta Porter of Florence and Marylee Parrish of Newport; 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

David Lynn Giles, 37, of Sparta, died Monday at his home after an extended illness. He was a former employee of Owenton Chrysler, Gallatin County IGA in Warsaw and Remke Market in Florence. He was a member of Scenic View Church of Christ, Gallatin County.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Liddie and James Jackson of Worthville; sisters, Carolyn Marksberry of Warsaw, Liddia Giles Hanson of Sparta, Sandy Courtney of Glencoe and Nannie Lynn of Owenton; and a grandmother, Amy Winn of Owenton.

James "Walt" Jones, 67, of Covington, died Monday at Mercy Hospital Anderson, Cincinnati. He was a retired inspector for Newport Steel Company and an Air Force veteran.

Kevin Allen Kaliin, 41, of Florence, died Sunday in an auto accident in Madison County, Ohio. He was a Kentucky state worker. A son, Benjamin Kaliin, died in 1996.

Osborne Mattingly, 74, of Butler, died Monday at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Cincinnati. He was a farmer, a member of Flagg Springs Baptist Church in California and an Army veteran of World War II. A son, Osborne Mattingly Jr., died in 1970.

Mildred M. Hanneken Niewahner, 81, of Villa Hills, died at 8:28 a.m. Monday at St. Charles Care Center in Fort Wright. She was a homemaker and a past secretary and treasurer of the City of Villa Hills. She was a Gold Star Mother and a member of Mothers of Purple Heart and Silver Star. Her husband, Edward J. Niewahner, died in 1975. A son, Sgt. Ronald Niewahner, died in 1968 in Vietnam.

Carmen Jeanne Presnell, 67, of Cincinnati, died Monday at Franciscan Hospital Mt. Airy Campus in Cincinnati. She was a homemaker and a member of Buckeye No. 587 Order of the Eastern Star and United Methodist Church Women. Her husband, Joseph Presnell, a former Northern Kentucky resident, preceded her in death.

Mabel Marie Townsley, 101, of Auburndale, Fla., formerly of Northern Kentucky, died Saturday in Winter Haven, Fla. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Samuel Archie Townsley, died in 1988. A son, Vincent Townsley, and daughters, Iretta Butch, Esther Fisk and Ethel Evelyn Haggard, all preceded her in death.
Survivors include sons, Russell Townsley of Boscobel, Wis., and Arnett Townsley of Florida; daughters, Geneva Grau of Las Vegas and Eunice Riley of Norwood, Ohio; 27 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Covington's Allan A. Ankenbauer, devoted to family, Cathedral Basilica
Allan A. Ankenbauer believed in church and family and spent most of his time taking care of both.
Mr. Ankenbauer, a retired bookkeeper with Bluegrass Plumbing and Electrical Supply Co., Covington, also was treasurer of the Holy Name Society of Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Covington.
"He liked the financial part of fund-raising. He was proud of taking care of the books," said a son, Tom Ankenbauer of Covington.
Mr. Ankenbauer and his wife, Dorothy Koepfle Ankenbauer, were married for nearly 50 years. They raised a group of children who remain closely-knit, their son said.
"All but one of us is still in the area," Tom Ankenbauer said.
Mr. Ankenbauer, 78, of Covington, died at 2:55 p.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North in Covington.
He was a member of Nocturnal Adoration Society at the church and was a Cincinnati Reds fan. Mr. Ankenbauer enjoyed gardening, taking walks and fixing things around the house. But most importantly, he was dedicated to his family, his son said.
"He was devoted to his wife. When one was sick, one took care of the other," Tom Ankenbauer said.
In addition to his wife and son, survivors include sons, Jim Ankenbauer of San Diego, David Ankenbauer of Burlington, Bill Ankenbauer of Crestview Hills and Paul Ankenbauer of Union; daughters, JoAnn Wess of Petersburg, Marilyn Rogg of Newport and Mary Jo Ankenbauer of Park Hills; a sister, Audrey Rose of Port Charlotte, Fla.; and 17 grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in St. Mary Mausoleum, Fort Mitchell.
