Lucy Webb, 83, of Walton, died at 11:40 p.m. Saturday at Grant Manor Nursing Home, Williamstown. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, Independence.
Her husband, Willis D. Webb, died in 1992.
Survivors include daughters, Ruth Kelton of Indianapolis, Joyce Colvin of Milford, Del., and Genevieve Claxton of Dover, Del.; a son, Bill Webb of Walton; sisters, Phyllis Harold and Crossville, Tenn., and Edith Parris of Stearns; a brother, Curtis Eblen of Covington; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, Verona. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be Thursday in Lenoir City Cemetery, Lenoir City, Tenn.

Charles E. Class, quiet life of kindness
The virtue of Charles E. Class could be found in the details of his quiet life of faith and kindness.
"He lived his religion. Let's put it that way," saids his brother, Irvin Class of Alexandria. "He was very likeable and sort of quiet. He didn't drink or smoke."
Mr. Class worshiped as a longtime member of St. John United Church of Christ in Bellevue.
Mr. Class, 87, of Fort Thomas, died at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas.
A native and lifelong resident of Fort Thomas, Mr. Class was a welder and sheet-metal worker with Master Craft Metals.
He was a former owner of Dari Freeze in Bellevue, where he worked with his wife Murriel Class and his children.
Mrs. Class died in 1992.
"He and my mother and I were all in it together," said his daughter, Charlotte Schutte of Villa Hills.
Early in life, Mr. Class played semi-professional baseball in the Greater Cincinnati area. Minor league baseball scouts recruited him to play, but he declined the offers.
Mr. Class was an avid sports fan all his life and bowled for many years.
"He was an all-around sports fan, but baseball was his favorite," Irvin Class said.
Other survivors include his daughter Marilyn Ollberding of Aurora, Ind.; sisters, Florence Elswick and Emma Beck, both of Alexandria; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Wednesday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, 7730 U. S. 42, Suite C6, Florence, Ky. 41042.

Betty R. Beach, 65, of Warsaw, died Sunday at her home after an extended illness. She was a retired secretary with Ashland Oil Co. Her husband, Fredrick James Beach, died in 1991. A son, James Edward Beach, died in 1996. A daughter, Ruth Ann Beach, died in 1969.
Survivors include a daughter, Dianne Pettit of Indianapolis; sons, Fred Beach and Timmy Wayne Beach, both of Milan, Ind.; brothers, Jerry Kettle of Newport, Charles Kettle of Aurora, Ind., and Larry Kettle of Portland, Ore.; sisters, Freida Steele and Ina Lee Bevis, both of Aurora, Ind.; a niece and nephew, Alma and Vernon Proctor, who took care of her; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Carlton-Lowder Funeral Home, Warsaw. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Aurora, Ind.

Effie Beulah Hadley Brown, 93, of Covington, died at 3:20 a.m. Sunday at Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport. She was a homemaker. Her husband, George Brown, died in 1989. A son, Vernon Brown, died in 1995.
Survivors include sons, Curtis Brown and Kenneth "Wayne" Brown, both of Covington; a daughter, Beulah Fightmaster of Florence; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

James R. Buckner, 57, of Port Richey, Fla., formerly of Falmouth, died Saturday at his home. He was a meat cutter with Sam's Club, Tampa, Fla.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Sue Buckner; a daughter, Laurie Blevins of Independence; a stepdaughter, Lisa Lyon of Falmouth; a stepson, Roger Hammond of Falmouth; a a brother, Joseph Buckner of Butler; a sister, Clara Grant of Cincinnati; three grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.

Audrey Carty, 64, of Covington, died at 12:03 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North in Covington. She was a receptionist at the hospital.

James W. English, 42, of Newport, died Saturday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. He was a machine operator with Parkway Products, Boone County, and a member of the Love and Faith Fellowship Church, Newport.

Goldie Marie Fouch, 75, of Cincinnati, formerly of Newport, died Aug. 10 at Summit Nursing Home, Cincinnati. She was a private practical nurse and a member of Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include a son, Gary Fouch of Covington; a brother, Keith Markins of Fort Mitchell; sisters, Dorothy Camper and Jean Swann, both of Cincinnati, and Thelma Fellure of Barboursville, W.Va.

Joseph Lawrence Funke, 31, of Louisville, formerly of Demossville, died Wednesday at home in his sleep. He was an electrical engineer with United Parcel Service and a member of Kentuckiana Woodcrafters Club.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Funke; daughters, Jessica Funke and Lindsey Funke; a son, William Funke; his parents, William and Rita Funke; brothers, Bill Funke, Steve Funke, Dave Funke, Sean Funke and Dan Funke; sisters, Rita Wesselman, Suzanne Daruwala, Shelley Funke, Amy Cooley, Mary Ann Roark and Patsy Funke; and grandmothers, Dorothy Funke and Mary Tewes.

Tilda Gumm Hocker, 84, of Verona, died at 9:42 a.m. Monday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. She was a homemaker, a former sales clerk and former owner of a flower shop in Berea. She was a member of Verona Full Gospel Church of God. Her husband, Rev. Richard P. Hocker, died in 1964.

Mario Nocero, 42, of Southgate, died at 7:35 p.m. Saturday at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati, after collapsing after a softball game. He was part-owner of Gino's Produce, Erlanger, and was a member of the Horsemen's Club.
