"Unselfish' Patricia Trump, St. E nurse

When Patricia Ann Trump's husband and mother became terminally ill, she cared for them - as she has hundreds of other patients at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North in Covington.

The registered nurse devoted her life to caring for the sick. She died at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at Florence Park Care Center in Burlington after sustaining serious injuries in a fall four weeks ago.

The Taylor Mill resident was 66.

"I have to say my mom was probably the most unselfish person I have ever known," said a daughter, Bianca Wellbrock of Villa Hills.

"She was very good at care-giving. . .She really devoted herself to everyone else's needs."

Nursing runs in Mrs. Trump's family. She met her husband, Milton Trump, at nursing school at St. Elizabeth and married him in 1954. They had three children.

Their two daughters, inspired by their parents, became nurses. Mrs. Wellbrock married a nurse.

"Obviously, with both of them being nurses, there was a lot of talk of that in the house," Mrs. Wellbrock said. "They really liked it."

Mrs. Trump was born in Columbus, Ohio, but grew up on a 300-acre tobacco farm in Morning View. She graduated from Simon Kenton High School.

She received her nursing certificate in the early 1950s, and worked at St. Elizabeth her entire career. She worked as the nursing director of the recovery room for more than 10 years; her husband was a nurse at St. Elizabeth and St. Luke.

Mr. Trump died of lung cancer in 1984.

"She liked the comraderie of the hospital," Mrs. Wellbrock said. "She just liked that sense of family and belonging to someplace."

Mrs. Trump also enjoyed cooking, reading, gardening and shopping in downtown Cincinnati and Covington.

Other survivors include a son, Robert L. Trump of Highland Heights; daughter, Teresa Trump of Florence; a brother, Joseph Messingschlager of Cincinnati; and one granddaughter.
