Ronald Roland, 62, of San Diego, formerly of Owenton, died Tuesday at his home. He was a retired teacher and an Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Donna McConnell Roland; daughters, Susan Roland of San Francisco, Kimberly Roland of Berkeley, Calif., and Patricia Roland of Modesto, Calif.; stepsons, Steve Wingen of Trabuco Canyon, Calif., and Greg Wingen of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.; and his mother, Gladis Hughes Roland.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at McDonald Funeral Home, Seminary Street, Owenton.

Rita D. Turner, 48, of Hebron, died at 2:10 a.m. Thursday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. She was an assistant manager with Hebron Corner Market.
Survivors include her husband, Bud Turner; daughters, Shana Turner, Linda Turner and Patty Turner, all of Hebron; sons, Billy Turner of Independence and Michael Turner of Hebron; brothers, Gordon Hodges of Erlanger and Donnie Hodges of Gastonia, N.C.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Hebron. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sand Run Baptist Cemetery, Hebron.

Edward Lee Wright, helped those in need
Edward Lee "Eddie" Wright, a Falmouth tobacco farmer, died Thursday from injuries he suffered in a four-wheeler accident on his farm. He was 46.
Mr. Wright had been driving the four-wheeler Tuesday on a blacktop road between his farms when the vehicle hit a tree, said his wife, Amy. He was found unconscious.
"We don't know what happened," Mrs. Wright said. "Maybe there was a deer there, or maybe he had a heart at tack."
He died at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Mr. Wright had grown up on the family farm, where he carried on a tradition of working hard in two fields - tobacco and baseball. He learned to play ball from his father, and he taught his son Phillip the game.
Eddie Wright and his son played on the same softball team - Junior's Boys. Phillip, now 18, was "Junior."
"Eddie was like a father to all of them," said Mrs. Wright.
"He was a hard, hard worker, and he would do anything for anybody.
"If somebody needed something, he'd drop everything to help them, whether it meant lending them money, taking them where they needed to go (or) letting them stay here."
He reveled in his children and supported their activities, Mrs. Wright said.
When his daughters were cheerleaders, he and Amy were regulars in the stands, cheer ing with them, and it wasn't unusual for Mr. Wright to have his grandchildren by his side as he fed the cows or did farm chores, his wife said.
He was a 1969 graduate of Pendleton County High School and a member of Blanket Creek Baptist Church in Pen dleton County.
In addition to his wife, survivors include daughters, Shelley Bishop and Sarah Wolfe, both of Falmouth; son, Phillip Wright, at home; his mother, Katherine Wright of Falmouth; brothers, John Wright, Donnie Wright, Teddy Wright and Steve Wright, all of Falmouth; sisters, Connie Ross and Patty Jenkins, both of Falmouth; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Pendleton County.
Memorials are suggested to the Kidney Foundation.
Lula Mae Bowen, 92, of Williamstown, formerly of Fort Wright, died at 11:40 a.m. Thurs day at Grant Manor Health Care Center in Williamstown. She was a retired packer for Frank Tea and Spice Co., Cincinnati.
Survivors include a sister, Rose Agnes Bowen of Williamstown.

Joseph "Joey" Capibianco, 17, of Independence, died shortly after 1 a.m. Friday in a motorcycle accident. He was a store auditor at Merchant Data Services in Ft. Wright and was a member of the First Church of Christ in Burlington.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Leslie and Andy Wright of Independence; his father, Carmen J. Capibianco of Daytona Beach, Fla.; step-sister Jamey Wright of Demossville; step-brother Timmy Wright of Independence; maternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Mary Lou and Willis Christner of Somerset; paternal grandparents Joe and Barbara Capibianco of Daytona Beach, Fla.; and maternal grandfather William Delaney of Thomasville, Ga.

Kenneth R. Hartman, 37, of Southgate, died at 9:15 p.m. Thursday at Jewish Hospital in Hamilton County, Ohio. He formerly worked for Erpenbeck Construction Co.

Mary Martina Moser Hehman, 81, of Lakeside Park, died Thursday at St. Charles Care Center in Covington. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Gerald J. Hehman, preceded her in death.

Jeanne P. James, 79, of Covington, died at 9:25 a.m. Friday at Lakeside Place Nursing Home in Highland Heights. She was a retired bookkeeper for American Book Co., Cincinnati, a retired cook for the rectory at Holy Cross Parish, Latonia, and a member of the Holy Cross Church. Her husband, Harry Anthony James, died in 1995.

Jack Miniard, 34, of Owenton, died Thursday in Sandusky, Ohio. His wife, Dorothy Richey Miniard, preceded him in death.

Raymond Gordon Neal, 45, of Covington, died at 4:40 a.m. Friday at Heritage Nursing Home in Corbin. He was a retired auto technician for Glenn's Chevron, Covington.

Lillian Hope Richerson, 70, of Crittenden, died Thursday at Highlands of Fort Thomas nursing home. She was a retired telephone operator supervisor for Cincinnati Bell, a member of Gardnersville Baptist Church, where she worked with the Women on Mission, the Crittenden Homemakers, and the Telephone Pioneers of America.

Mary H. Skelton, 84, of Newport, died Friday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas. She was a retired sales clerk for Singer Wallpaper and Paint Co., Hamilton, Ohio, and a member of Newport First Baptist Church. A daughter, Mary Jean Axt, died in 1991.

Docia Mae Smith, 97, of Cincinnati, died at 10 a.m. Thursday at Clovernook Health Care Pavilion in Cincinnati. She was a missionary for Brethren in Christ Church in Pennsylvania , where she was a member. Her husband, Clarence Smith, died in 1991.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Rev. Bill Stith, 54, of Covington, died at 1:50 p.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North in Covington. He was a lay pastor for Beecher Presbyterian Church, Lawrenceburg, Ind., and the former pastor at Belleview Baptist Church, Boone County, and Immanuel Baptist Church, Covington. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Covington.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Letton Stith; daughters, Cindy Stith of San Francisco and Lori Stith of Covington; sons, Al Stith and David Stith, both of Covington; his father, George L. Stith of Fort Thomas; and a sister, Ramona Welch of Reynoldsburg, Ohio.

Coach Austin Henderson, hall of famer
Austin L. Henderson Sr. was a talented athlete who shared his love for sports with youth as a coach, team manager and umpire. He was awarded for his achievement, enthusiasm and love for baseball and basketball with membership in the Northern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame in 1995.
The Villa Hills resident died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood. He was 69.
Mr. Henderson played baseball and basket ball at John G. Carlisle and Holmes High schools in Covington. For years, he also played on church leagues.
He married Rita J. White in 1948, and they had three children. The family lived in Covington before moving to Villa Hills in the late 1960s.
Mr. Henderson, who worked for 43 years as an assistant foreman with Wadsworth Electric Co. in Covington, coached youth-league teams when his children were young.
He managed and coached baseball and bas ketball teams for Main Street United Methodist Church in Covington for years. In 1956, the YMCA Church League named Mr. Henderson Coach of the Year.
He also umpired for his son's teams and continued to umpire long after his son quit playing, Mrs. Henderson said.
"I remember my son coming home and say ing, "Mom, do you know Dad called me out?' "
"He was the most wonderful, well-liked per son. I have never heard anyone say anything bad about him, and he would never say any thing bad about anyone."
Mr. Henderson was inducted into the North ern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame in December 1995 for his achievements as an umpire and as baseball and basketball player and coach.
His son, Austin L. Henderson Jr., died in 1992.
Other survivors include daughters, Barbara Denham of Erlanger and Cindy Johnson of La guna Beach, Calif.; sisters, Norma Jean Judy of San Diego and Jewell Williams of California, Ohio; and seven grandchildren.
