Charles W. Sasher, 74, of Covington, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit in Covington. He was a farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Roseina Robinson Sasher; brothers, Ray Sasher, Robert Sasher and Allie Sasher, all of Cape Coral, Fla.; sisters, Ruby Hymer of Cape Coral, Faye Penny of Carrollton and Mildred Thompson of Muncie, Ind.; seven stepchildren, 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services were this morning at Eckler-Hudson Funeral Home, Dry Ridge. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge.

Earl Smith, 69, of Crittenden, died Friday at his home. He was a heavy-equipment operator.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Landrum Tungate Smith; sons, Bruce Smith of Amelia, Va., and Steve Smith of Dry Ridge; daughters, Amanda Smith of Crittenden and Sharon Rider of Dry Ridge; a brother, Clarence Smith of Amelia, Va.; sisters, Odell Gwynn of Pulaski, Va., Eva Elizabeth Stoling and Lilly May Miliner, both of Amelia, Va., and Christine Peters of Goochland, Va.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Little Flock Baptist Church, Amelia, Va. Cremation will be at Hillside Chapel, Cincinnati. Memorials are suggested to Amelia Emergency Squad, Amelia, Va. 23002; or Goochland American Legion Post No. 215 Auxiliary, in care of Mary Ligon, 1285 Shallow Wells Road, Manakin-Sabat, Va. 23103. Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Crittenden, is handling arrangements.

Evaline Loomis Sydnor, 76, of Martinsville, Ind., formerly of Grant County, died Friday at Morgan County Memorial Hospital in Martinsville. She was a retired seamstress with Beau Brummel Tie Manufacturing Co., Cincinnati, and a member of Sherman Baptist Church.

Survivors include sons, Billy Loomis of Martinsville, Ind., and Pete Loomis of Crittenden; brothers, Arthur R. Gordon of Sherman and Clifford Gordon of Williamstown; a sister, Dorothy Gayhart of Crittenden; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Crittenden. Burial will be in Williamstown Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Arthritis Foundation, 7811 Laurel Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio 45243.

Anselm Babe Wagner, 75, of Latonia, died at 1:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. He was a retired maintenance worker with Highlands High School, Fort Thomas, and was a member of Holy Cross Church, Latonia. He was a former maintenance director with the church, a member of the church Holy Name Society and choir, a member of the Knights of Columbus Carroll Council No. 702, a member of Alcoholics Anonymous, and a Navy veteran of World War II. His wife, Rosalia Wagner, died in 1980.

Survivors include sons, Dan Wagner of Latonia, Joseph A. Wagner of Union and Michael Wagner of Cincinnati; daughters, Tina Sims of Independence and Roseanne Kaiser of Cedar Grove, Ind.; a brother, Louis Wagner of Park Hills; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 7 tonight at Holy Cross Church. Visitation will begin there at 4 p.m. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright. Memorials are suggested to Holy Cross Elementary School, 2617 Church St., Covington, Ky. 41015. Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia, is handling arrangements.

Robert Froelicher, put family first

Robert J. Froelicher of Bellevue was a postal worker, Army veteran, church member, youth sports referee and family man.

He also was a big-hearted person, said his wife, Dorothy.

"He liked people. He liked everybody," she said.

"He had a real good attitude. He's been sick for about four years, but his attitude was just wonderful."

Mr. Froelicher died Monday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas. He was 69.

Mr. Froelicher was a native of Bellevue and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

"He lived on Berry Avenue in Bellevue his whole life except for the two years he was in the Korean War," Mrs. Froelicher said.

Mr. Froelicher joined the U.S. Postal Service in the early 1960s and retired as a personnel clerk in 1989.

He worked at the post office on Dalton Avenue in Cincinnati most of his career.

Mr. Froelicher was a member of the Bellevue Vets since 1953. He also was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church in Bellevue.

"His faith was very important to him," said his wife.

When his daughters were young, Mr. Froelicher refereed for their volleyball teams.

"He bowled, and he was a great UK basketball fan," Mrs. Froelicher said.

"We had season tickets to the Bengals for quite a few years, and he watched those games on TV.

"But he really liked UK."

He was "a wonderful father and a wonderful husband," his wife said. They were married "47 years and eight months," she said.

Besides his wife, Mr. Froelicher is survived by a son, Stephen Froelicher of Midland, Mich.; daughters, Donna Butke of Bellevue and Sue Anne Stevens of Fort Smith, Ark.; and 12 grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Church in Bellevue. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Dobbling Funeral Home in Bellevue, with Bellevue Vets services at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery in Fort Thomas.

Memorials are suggested to Sacred Heart Church, 318 Division St., Bellevue, Ky. 41073.

George L. Kool, 83, of Alexandria, died Monday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. He was a retired employee of Interlake Steel, Newport.

Survivors include several cousins.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Visitation will begin there at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.

Charles H. Murray, 75, of Erlanger, died at 9:55 p.m. Saturday at Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport. He was a retired teacher at Seven Hills High School in Cincinnati, and was a member of Florence Elks Lodge No. 314 and Newport Elks Lodge. His son, Denny Murray, died in 1975.

Survivors include a sister, Joan Murray of Latonia.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to Charles H. Murray Elks Memorial Fund, P. O. Box 454, Florence, Ky. 41042.

Daniel Joseph O'Brien, 28, of Covington, died Monday at University Hospital, Cincinnati. He was a carpet layer with Carpetland.

Survivors include a daughter, Danielle O'Brien of Covington; his mother, Deborah Sturgeon of Covington; brothers, Douglas O'Brien and Perry O'Brien, both of Covington; sisters, Deborah Richards and Teala Sizemore, both of Covington, Dee Phillips of Kettering, Ohio, and Tonya O'Brien of Southgate; and grandparents, June and Shelby Hedger of Covington.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Radel Funeral Home, Newport. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.

Ruth Perkins, 67, of Highland Heights, died at 5 a.m. Sunday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a bakery worker with the Thirftway grocery store in Newport. Her husband, Herbert Perkins, died in 1988.

Survivors include sons, Russell Dixon of Ludlow, Thomas Dixon of Bellevue, David Dixon and Jeff Dixon, both of Highland Heights, and Larry Dixon of Florence; a daughter, Debbie Mays of Clermont County, Ohio; sisters, Margie Gray of Las Vegas and Linda Robinson of Chillicothe, Ohio; brothers, Bud Caseman of Utah and Bill Caseman of Henderson; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Newport. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Northern Kentucky, 1403 Alexandria Pike, Fort Thomas, Ky. 41075.

Catherine Perry, 88, of Covington, died Sunday at Rosedale Manor, Latonia. Survivors include daughters, Ruth Jeffries of Folsom, Calif., Marcella Jeffries of Independence and Cathy Coker of Taylor Mill; a son, George Perry of Covington; 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Elsie K. Laub Phillips, 88, of Highland Heights, died at 3:55 a.m. Sunday at Lakeside Place Nursing Home in Highland Heights. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Fred Phillips Jr., preceded her in death.
