Alma E. Smith, 82, of Cincinnati, formerly of Covington, died at 5:50 a.m. Thursday at Riverview Community Home, Cincinnati.
She was a retired payroll clerk with Whitaker General Medical Co., and a member of Mother of God Church and St. John Church, both in Covington.
Survivors include a son, William F. Smith of Fairfield, Ohio; a sister, Sister Mary Valaria, O.S.B., of Villa Hills; and one grandchild.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mother of God Church. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Cecil Webster Jr., 67, of Florence, died at 2 a.m. Thursday on southbound I-75 near Fort Wright from a heart attack.
He was a self-employed, retired salesman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Johns Webster; a son, Tim Webster of Fort Thomas; brothers, Bill Webster of Butler, Donald Webster of Independence, and Edward Webster of Delhi; a sister, Betty Snyder of Delhi; and a grandson.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown. Visitation will be there from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday. Cremation will follow at the Hillside Chapel, Cincinnati.

John Riddle, had ear for country music
John Robert Riddle spent most of his life driving trucks and listening to country music.
Mr. Riddle, 70, of Williamstown, died Friday at his residence.
His daughter, Virginia McIntosh of Williamstown, said she grew up on the music her father listened to - and now doesn't listen to anything else.
"He loved all kinds of country music, " Ms. McIntosh said.
Mr. Riddle injured his back about 20 years ago after falling off a roof, his daughter said.
Ms. McIntosh took care of her father and listened as he spoke on the subjects of the day.
"He was outspoken and he liked watching boxing," Ms. McIntosh said. "He was our dad, and I'm going to miss him."
Other survivors include daughters, Pat Mahan of Covington and Bobbie Sebastian of Latonia; a brother, Charlie Riddle of Georgetown, Ohio; sisters, Betty Robb of Sharonville, Ohio, and Ruth Gumm of Middletown, Ohio; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Eckler-Hudson Funeral Home in Dry Ridge.
Visitation will begin at noon Sunday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge.

Nathan Lee Barnett, aged 3 months and 25 days, of Shelbyville, died Thursday at Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville.
Survivors include his parents, Brian and Amy Workman Barnett of Shelbyville; half-brothers, Adam Barnett, Joshua Barnett and Zachery Barnett, all at home; grandparents, Robbie and Cyndi Workman of Simpsonville, Everett and Donzetta Barnett of Shelbyville, and Carolyn Barnett of Pleasureville; and great-grandparents, Lillian Scheriff of Shelbyville and Peggy Workman of Florence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Shannon Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Visitation will begin at noon today at the funeral home.

Floyd Ray Howard, 67, of Florence, died at 1:15 a.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North Hospice in Covington.
He was a retired foreman for Aero-Crete, a Navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of Fellowship of Believers Church, Florence.
Survivors include his wife, Stella Mae Shepherd Howard; a son, Montey Howard of Norfolk, Va.; a brother, Ben Howard of Middletown, Ohio; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services and burial will be Monday at Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Stith Funeral Home, Florence, is handling arrangements.

Donna Roberts Wolcott, 54, of Frankfort, died at 5:25 p.m., Thursday, at Hospice Care Center in Lexington.
She was a retired administrator with the Kentucky Labor Cabinet and a member of the Memorial Baptist Church in Frankfort.
Survivors include her husband, James W. Wolcott; a son, Terry Haines of Frankfort; a stepson, James D. Wolcott of Madison, Ala.; a stepdaughter, Kit Stone of Frankfort; brothers, George Roberts of Louisville, Ronnie Roberts of Owen County and Larry Roberts of Frankfort; sisters, Geneva Wainscott and Etta Hill, both of Owen County; two grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home, Frankfort. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Edna Gutekunst, oldest Newport grad
To her friends and neighbors in Newport, Edna M. Hansjergen Gutekunst was "Miss Edna" and "Grandma Edna."
Mrs. Gutekunst, 92, of Newport, died Friday night in St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
"All summer her front porch would be filled with neighborhood children," said Mrs. Gutek unst's daughter, Lois Gore.
A lifelong resident of Newport whose family operated a carriage and wagon factory around the turn of the century, Mrs. Gutekunst graduated from Newport High School in 1923. At the city's bicentennial celebration three years ago, Mrs. Gutekunst rode in a car at the parade and was honored as the school's oldest living gradu ate.
During World War II, Mrs. Gutekunst's daughter related, her mother and friends met once a week to knit sweaters for the soldiers. "After the war the group continued to meet to play cards, and it's still active," said Mrs. Gore.
Mrs. Gutekunst's high school annual noted: "she loved to dance," and that interest carried on throughout her life, said Mrs. Gore. "She continued to dance until she suffered a heart at tack five years ago."
Until a few months ago, Mrs. Gutekunst never missed attended her great-granddaughter's soccer games, said Mrs. Gore.
Mrs. Gutekunst was a homemaker and a member of Southgate United Methodist Church; the United Methodist Women, where she was a former treasurer; Gertrude Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star; Southgate Seniors; and Newport High School Alumni Association.
Her husband, Arthur C. Gutekunst, died in 1972.
Survivors include a daughter, Lois Gore of Wilder; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Church United Church of Christ, Fort Thomas. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Freda Dulaney, 91, of Dayton, died at 1:49 p.m. Sunday at Lakeside Place Nursing Home in Highland Heights. She was a retired secretary for Ralph Simpson Insurance Co., Newport, and a member of Calvary Tower United Methodist Church, Bellevue, where she was the organist for 64 years. Her husband, Earl George Dulaney, died in 1964.
Survivors include a son, Earl Dulaney of Robbins, N.C.; daughters, Mary Dulaney of Dayton and Freda Smith of Alexandria; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Lillie McClure, 90, of Alexandria, died at 1:30 a.m. Sunday at her residence. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, Cold Spring.
Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Wickelhaus of Alexandria; a brother, Joe Wolfe of Alexandria; sisters, Dorothy Fausz of the state of Missouri and Betty Cox, of Manchester; three grand children and three great-grand children.

Norma Sander Meese, 86, of Covington, died at 5:25 p.m. Friday at St. Charles Care Center in Covington. She was a retired secretary and bookkeeper. Her first husband, Droege Sander, died in 1945. Her second husband, Celestine G. Meese, died in September.
