James 'Burleigh' Grimes, 80, of Augusta, died at 11:30 p.m. Friday at Robertson County Health Care Center in Mount Olivet. He was a retired line crew foreman for Kentucky Utilities and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member and past commander of VFW Post 9535, Augusta, and Masonic Lodge No. 80 F&AM, Augusta. His wife, Carmen Grimes, died in 1992. A daughter, Judy Meyer, also preceded him in death.

Survivors include daughters, Donna McClanahan of Fostoria, Ohio, Phyllis Moreland of Cold Spring and Jan Grimes of Brooksville; a son, Stephen Grimes of Fostoria, Ohio; a brother, Charles Grimes of Cape Coral, Fla.; a sister, Ruth Vermillion of Aberdeen, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Moore and Parker Funeral Home, Augusta. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Augusta. Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association Bracken County Chapter, c/o Jackie Heaverin, Seminary Ave., Augusta, Ky. 41002.

Warren A. Halvorson, 69, of Fort Mitchell, died Sunday in St. Elizabeth Medical Center North in Covington. He was a retired machinist for R.A. Jones.

Survivors include sons, Doug W. Halvorson and Jim S. Halvorson, both of Fort Mitchell; daughters, Cindy L. Carter of Benton and Judy L. Tarvin of Covington; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Burlington Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to American Diabetes. Association, 8899 Brookside Ave., West Chester, Ohio 45103.

Norman Cecil Hazlewood, 74, of Fort Thomas, died at 3:30 a.m. Saturday in Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati. A Navy veteran of World War II, he retired in 1988 after working as a designer for several Cincinnati floral businesses.

Survivors include a brother, Alan Hazlewood of Hebron; and a sister, Mildred C. Hazlewood of Fort Thomas.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to Spondylitic Association of America, c/o Good Samaritan Hospital, 375 Dixmyth Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio 45220. James E. Heizer, 71, of Gallatin County, died Saturday in St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. He was a retired machinist for Interlake Steel and also worked for L&N Railroad. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post No. 203 and VFW Post No. 6095.

Survivors include sons, David Heizer, Mike Heizer and Dennis Heizer, all of Independence, Robert Heizer of Bellevue, Gary Heizer of Latonia and Joseph Heizer of Walton; a daughter, Connie Brinkman of Erlanger; a sister, Ann Graven of Florence; and nine grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice, 401 E. 20th St., Covington, Ky. 41014.

Effie Leona Herrington, 96, of Covington, died Saturday in St. Elizabeth Medical Center North in Covington. She was a homemaker and a member of Florence United Methodist Church.

Survivors include daughters, Betty Pollitt of Covington and Geraldine Scherer of Cleveland; a sister, Irene Buckler of Florence; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, five great- great-grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will begin at noon today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.

Thomas W. Herron, 58, of Lakeside Park, died at 9:10 a.m. Sunday at his residence. He was a conductor for CSX Railroad and an Army veteran.

He was a member of Mount Pleasant Christian Church, Williamstown; United Transportation Union Local No. 1353, where he was president and a delegate; and a former member of the U.S. Army European All-Star Basketball Team.

He is the second-leading scorer in history for the Holmes High School basketball team.

Survivors include his wife, Jane B. Herron; sons, Jeff Eastin of Erlanger and Conrad Eastin of Latonia; daughters, Cathy Herron of Wilder and Tammy Eastin of Latonia; and his mother, Josephine Martin of Covington; a sister, Betty Jo Klette of Florence; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Northern Kentucky, 1403 Alexandria Pike, Ft. Thomas, Ky. 41075.

C. Wayne Hickman, 40, of Covington, died at 12:40 p.m. Saturday at his residence. He worked for Ross Laboratories, Columbus, Ohio, and formerly was a collections manager for a hotel association in Kansas City, Mo.

Survivors include his mother, M. Lee Hickman of Delhi, Ohio; a brother, Bill Hickman of Glendale, Ariz.; and sisters, Delonda Flowers of Cincinnati and Connie L. Mullins of Walton.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Mary E. Jones, 78, of Dry Ridge, died Saturday in Grant Manor Health Care Center in Williamstown. She was a homemaker and a member of Unity Baptist Church, Pendleton County.

Survivors include sons, Robert L. Jones of Dry Ridge and Steve G. Jones of Covington; daughters, Barbara Mercer of Dry Ridge and Pat Cunningham of Broadbeck, Pa.; a brother, Marley McClung of Phoenix; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth Ann 'Libby' Maley, 68, of Maysville, died at 5:55 p.m. Saturday in Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville. She was a former bookkeeper for A.J. Toncray Enterprises, Maysville, and also worked as a bookkeeper for Moore-McHugh Auto Parts, Maysville. She was a member of St. Patrick Church, Maysville.

Survivors include sisters, Ella Mae Maley, Margaret Stambaugh, Catherine Pawsat and Nora Jane Cooney, all of Maysville, and Rose Marie Ryan of Westerville, Ohio; and a brother, John M. Maley of Cincinnati.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Brell and Son Funeral Home, Maysville. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, with prayers at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Maysville. Memorials are suggested to St. Patrick Church, 112 E. Horace McCutchen Sr., 63, of Covington, died 4:20 a.m. Saturday in St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. He was the retired owner of Brightwood car wash in Indianapolis.

Survivors include his wife, Hattie Bogan McCutchen; sons, Horace McCutchen Jr., of Indianapolis, Cecil Bogan McCutchen of Newport, Gregory T. McCutchen of Dallas and Michael T. McCutchen of Covington; daughter, Blanche McCutchen of Dallas and Arlena Francis McCutchen of Indianapolis; brothers, Samuel T. McCutchen of Indianapolis and Bernard T. McCutchen of San Antonio; sisters, Jeanne Cousins and Belva Brown, both of Indianapolis, and Doris Jones of Fremont, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at noon Tuesday at St. James A.M.E. Church, Lynn Street, Covington. Visitation will be from 11 to the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Mary Smith Memorial Cemetery, Elsmere. Jones & Simpson Funeral Home, Covington, is handling the arrangements.

Frank E. Neidenbach Sr., 61, of Fort Thomas, died at 2:45 a.m. Sunday in St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Bedell Neidenbach; sons, Frank Neidenbach of Independence, Steve Neidenbach of Taylor Mill, and Jeff Neidenbach and Glen Neidenbach, both of Fort Thomas; a brother, Robert Neidenbach of Alexandria; and two grandchildren.

James Earl Pavey, 67, of Portsmouth, Ohio, formerly of Newport, died Saturday in Southern Ohio Medical Center-Mercy Campus, Portsmouth. He was a retired Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietname War, and later operated his own appliance repair shop. He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Portsmouth.

Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Haken Pavey; a son, Scott Pavey of Fairfax, Va.; daughters, Shelly Conway of Hopkinton, Mass., Sandy Penn of Columbus, Ohio, and Nicki Conley Portsmouth, Ohio; a sister, Nita Betigheimer of Belleview; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at All Saints Episcopal Church, Portsmouth. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at F.C. Daehler Mortuary Co., Portsmouth. Lambert E. Perkins, 86, of Owenton, died Saturday at his residence. He was a farmer and a retired employee for the Owen County Road Department, and a member of Keefer Christian Church. A daughter, Mildred Frances Perkins, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Bates Perkins; daughters, Karen McCormick and Brenda Turner, both of Owen County, Carolyn Ruth of Port Royal and Patricia Cuneo of Owenton; half- brothers, Harold Souder of Cincinnati and Hershel Souder of Fort Thomas; a half-sister, Donna Mae Souder of Amelia, Ohio; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
