James Lee Herrington, 63, of Cynthiana, died Monday at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana. He was a member of Webster Avenue Church of God, Cynthiana. His wife, Juanite McNew Herrington, preceded him in death.
Survivors include a son, James E. Herrington of Cynthiana; daughters, Debbie Mineer and Wanda Courtney, both of Cynthiana; brothers, Hubert "Herb" Herrington of Cynthiana and Charles Herrington of North Carolina; sisters, Cora Lee Pope of Alexandria, Peggy Combs of Covington, Shelby Tucker and Edith Thompson, both of Cynthiana, and Juanita Lancaster of Ludlow; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ware Funeral Home, Cynthiana. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery, Cynthiana. Memorials are suggested to Webster Avenue Church of God, Webster Ave., Cynthiana, Ky. 41031.

Loretta Francis Hobbs, 64, of Westwood, died Sunday at her residence after an extended illness. She was a retired school teacher for Fairview Independent Schools, Westwood. She also was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Mistletoe Chapter No. 144, Russell, and a member of the Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include her husband, Charles V. Hobbs; sons, Charles "Chod" Hobbs, Jr. of Covington, David Hobbs of Westwood and Tom Hobbs of Ashland; brothers, James Otis "Bud" Francis and Mike Francis, both of Ashland; sisters, Goldie Hodges of Westwood, Garnet McCaleb of Huntington, W. Va., Carma Jameson of Tampa, Fla., Shirley Conley of Grayson and Patricia Scarbrough of Flatwoods; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Caniff Funeral Home chapel, Westwood. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum, Ashland.

William D. Jennings, 69, of Hilton Head, S.C., formerly of Covington, died Sunday at Hilton Head Medical Center. He was a retired vice president with Thomas E. Wood Insurance Co., Cincinnati, and an Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Sachs Jennings; daughters, Patie Shafer of Independence and Donna Elter of Petersburg; sons, Todd Jennings of Falmouth and Brad Jennings of Lexington; a sister, Lavern Teichman of Florence; a brother, Victor Jennings of Florence; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Copeland Funeral Home, Hilton Head, S.C. Burial will be in Beauford National Cemetery, Beauford, S.C. Claude W. Johnson Jr., 82, of Ft. Thomas, died Sunday in Bonita Springs, Fla. He was chairman and chief executive officer of Johnson Electric, Cincinnati, and fund-raising chairman of the American Cancer Society in Northern Kentucky.
He was a Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce chairman, and was chairman of the Congressional Forum from 1978-1983. He was a past president of the Cincinnati Optimist Club, and a board member of the National Association of Electrical Distributors.
Mr. Johnson was a member of the Young Presidents Association, and later its graduate organizations, the Chief Executives Forum and the Cincinnati 49ers, which he chaired for 20 years and served as its secretary-treasurer.
Mr. Johnson was also co-founder of the Committee of 500 political reform group of Campbell County.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Huwe Johnson; daughters, Dixie Root of Gilford, Conn., Ginger Herndon of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Liza Love of South Windsor, Conn., and Anne White , Jane Smith and Nancy Baker, all of Ft. Thomas; sons, Robert Johnson of Ft. Thomas and Douglas Johnson of West Chester, Ohio; stepdaughters, Carolyn O'Neil of Chicago, Susan Schaffer and Gayle Kraai, both of Jackson, Mich.; a stepson, Steve Thompson of Chicago; a sister, Pat Thomas of Ft. Thomas; 36 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Johnson's first wife, Dixie Stewart Johnson, died in 1986.

Jane Lee Mahaffey, 76, of Sayre Christian Village, formerly of Cynthiana, died Monday at Central Baptist Church, Lexington. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church, Cynthiana.
She also was a former owner of Best Tool and Die, Cynthiana, and a member of the University of Kentucky Athletic Association and Midway Alumni Association. Her husband, Robert Mahaffey, preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughters, Mary Lou Case Sullivan of Cynthiana, Sally Kennard Tanner and Bobbie Jane Mahaffey Hatfield, both of Lexington; stepdaughters, Barbara Mahaffey Nash of Cynthiana, Shirley Mahaffey Iannetta of Eastlake, Ohio, and Libby Mahaffey-Haytas of Wickliffe, Ohio; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mae Caswell McKnight, 81, of Walton, died at 10:40 a.m. Monday at Highlands of Ft. Thomas nursing home after an extended illness. She was a homemaker and a member of Landmark Baptist Temple, Cincinnati.
Survivors include her husband, Homer McKnight; and a daughter, Nancy Ann McKnight of Walton.

Wilmina "Willie" Moore, 86, of Erlanger, died Sunday at her home. She was a homemaker and a member of Erlanger Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Laura Berkemeier of Erlanger; sons, Bill Moore of Erlanger and Rick Moore of Walton; a sister, Catherine Seevers of Butler; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Lillian Turner Paden, 71, of Newport, died Sunday at St. Luke Hospital East, Ft. Thomas. She was a volunteer at local bingos in Northern Kentucky, and a member of Faith Baptist Church, Melbourne, where she was very active in the building of the new church and building fund.
Survivors include daughters, Rita Kendall and Brenda Fields, both of Newport, Decima King of Cincinnati and Debbie King of Tampa, Fla.; sons, Walter Alan Fields of Melbourne, Billy Fields and Leslie King Jr., both of Newport; a brother, Henry Turner of Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Dee Leist of Ft. Thomas; 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pauline "Polly" Parker, 83, of Union, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a retired bookkeeper with Community Bank, and a member of Union Presbyterian Church.
She was a member of the Union Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 461, Union, and a past Eastern Star Worthy Matron. A son, Robert E. Parker, died in 1997.
Survivors include her husband, W. F. "Bill" Parker; daughters, Peggy Stephenson and Kay Williams, both of Union; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Union Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence, and from 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of services at the church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth.

Russell Lee Riley, 51, of Turner Station, died Sunday at his home. He was a farmer.

William F. Schafer, 77, of Florence, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a boiler operator with Cincinnati Gas & Electric, a member of Florence Christian Church, and an Army veteran of World War II.
