Jean G. Stansel, 68, of Villa Hills, died at 7:40 a.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, John Stansel; daughters, Deborah Davis Colvin of Edgewood, Kimberly Davis Wilkins of Villa Hills and Kelle Davis Klare of Erlanger; and six grandchildren.

Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Church, Fort Mitchell. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright. Memorials are suggested to Bishop Hughes Pavilion, in care of St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, 401 E. 20th St., Covington, Ky. 41014. Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, Ludlow, is handling arrangements.

Grace N. Story, 67, of Mclean, Va., died Friday at Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville. She was a retired administrative assistant with the Central Intelligence Agency in Langley, Va.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph C. Story; a daughter, Sally S. story of Annandale, Va.; and a sister, Janice Griffith of Chicago.

Services will be at the convenience of the family. Brell & Son Funeral Home, Maysville, is handling arrangements.

Bernice Byland Stull, 91, of Erlanger, died Friday at Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport. She was a retired teacher with the Dayton Board of Education and a member of Fort Thomas Women's Club and Highland Hills Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Shelly Stull of Kalamazoo, Mich.; a sister, Mary Davis of Fort Thomas; and one granddaughter.

Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Highland Hills Baptist Church, 638 Highland Ave., Fort Thomas, Ky. 41075, or the charity of the donor's choice. Dobbling Funeral Home, Fort Thomas, is handling arrangements.

Hassie Trapp, 87, of Alexandria, died Saturday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker and a member of Persimmon Grove Baptist Church, California. Her husband, Edward Trapp, died in 1975. A daughter, Juanita Trapp, died in 1941. A son, Byron Leroy 'Sam' Trapp, died in 1997.

Survivors include a daughter, Yvonne Thompson of Alexandria; a brother, Clayton Gosney of Alexandria; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Persimmon Grove Baptist Church. Visitation will begin there at noon Tuesday. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Persimmon Grove Baptist Church, Route 3, California, Ky. 41007, or the charity of the donor's choice.

William Leroy Ulshafer, 73, of Highland Heights, died Thursday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas. He was a retired truck driver for Teamsters Local No. 100 and a former Highland Heights police officer. He was a member of the Bob White Club, Alexandria; Ham Radio Operators Association of Greater Cincinnati; National Rifle Association; and Disabled American Veterans. His wife, Velma Ulshafer, died Jan. 7.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty Ulshafer of Alexandria.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lenoxburg Cemetery in Bracken County.

Clara Mae Wilhite, of Winterhaven, Fla., formerly of Covington, died Saturday at Haines City Health Care Center in Winterhaven.

Sister Rose Francis Korte, served others

Sister Rose Francis Korte, RGS, spent more than 60 years as a nun.

Sister Rose Francis was known for her kindness, faith, smile and sense of humor.

Early in her career, she was a cook, housekeeper and nurse's aide. She later became a mentor and inspiration to her fellow sisters, said Bea Zeis, a staff nurse at Sisters of the Good Shepherd Pelletier Hall in Fort Thomas.

'She liked to read and do crossword puzzles,' Ms. Zeis said. 'Her presence will be missed. She was loved by everyone.'

Sister Rose Francis of Fort Thomas, died at 5:40 p.m. Sunday at the Sisters of the Good Shepherd Pelletier Hall in Fort Thomas. She was 87.

A retired member of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd, Sister Rose Francis was a Michigan native who made Northern Kentucky her home for many years. Besides taking care of her fellow sisters, Sister Rose Francis also enjoyed feeding Rusty, a husky that became the house pet, Ms. Zeis said.

'She was good-hearted. She always kept dog bones in her room, and Rusty knew where to go to get them. He will miss her, too.'

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sisters of the Good Shepherd Pelletier Hall. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Pelletier Hall. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas.

Memorials are suggested to Sisters of the Good Shepherd Pelletier Hall, 930 Highland Ave., Fort Thomas, Ky. 41075. Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas, is handling arrangements.

Thelma Barton, 93, of Cincinnati, formerly of Northern Kentucky, died Monday at Salem Park Nursing Home in Cincinnati.

John 'Jack' Bethel, 68, of Covington, died at 4:30 a.m. Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a former owner of Bethel Fish and Oysters in Covington and a member of St. Agnes Church, Fort Wright.

There are no immediate survivors.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Rosedale Manor Chapel, Latonia. Visitation will begin there at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to Junior Board for Crippled Children, 212 Levassor Ave., Covington, Ky. 41011. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Erlanger, is handling arrangements.

Bernice Hosking Blum, 83, of Dayton, died at 2:47 a.m. Monday at Lakeside Place Nursing Home, Highland Heights. She was a saleswoman with Lings Bakery in Dayton and a member of Senior Citizens of Northern Kentucky, the 123 Club and Women's Social Club of Dayton. Her husband, Elmer F. Blum, died in 1980.

Survivors include daughters, Beverly Sheridan of Morning View and Betty McGuire of Dayton; sons, Elmer F. Blum Jr. and Vernon Blum, both of Taylor Mill; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Dayton. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Memorials are suggested to Lakeside Place Nursing Home, 3510 Alexandria Pike, Highland Heights, Ky. 41076.

James O. Collins, 62, of Cincinnati, formerly of Covington, died Thursday at Christian Care Center in Cincinnati. He was a machine operator with Murdoch Co., Cincinnati.

Survivors include his wife, Anita K. Mounce Collins; daughters, Youlanda Collins, Joyce Collins and Melissa Collins, all of Covington; sons, James R. Collins and Truman Ray Collins, both of Covington; a brother, Darrell Collins of Covington; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Spaeth Sons Schaefer & Busby Funeral Home, Cincinnati. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Baltimore Pike Cemetery, Cincinnati.

Mattie Beagle Cramer, 101, of Covington, died Sunday at Owen County Memorial Hospital, Owenton. She was a member of Latonia Christian Church. Her husband, Orville C. Cramer, died in 1996.

Survivors include a nephew, Dudley Peddicord of Williamstown.

John 'Ozzie' Elliott, 74, of Covington, died at 3 a.m. Monday at his home. He was a retired car foreman for CSX Railroad and a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

He was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Independence, and the LST Association. His wife, Ruth Elliott, died in 1994.

Survivors include daughters, Gwendolyn J. Waddle of Covington, Rebecca Arwood of Independence and Sandra Sue Phillips of Taylor Mill; sisters, Viola Martens and Cleo Bunch, both of Chicago; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Swindler and Currin Funeral Home, Independence. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.

Wilma Englemon, 33, of Covington, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North Hospice in Covington. She was a nurse's aide.

Survivors include son, Brandent Englemon, and daughter, Brittaney Englemon, both at home; her mother, Maggie Englemon of Covington; brothers, Humphrey Englemon, William Englemon, David Englemon, Robert Englemon and Michael Englemon, all of Covington; and sisters, Mary Frazier, Jackie Englemon, Carol Englemon, Erica Englemon, Barbara Brown and Mareca Englemon, all of Covington.

Gloria F. Forge, 73, of Bellevue, died Saturday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Wil Forge; daughters, Carol Wuest of Fort Thomas, Sharon Norman of Elsmere, Debbe Wassler of Cincinnati, Karen Terrell of Union, Mimi High of Franklin, Tenn., Terry Schmits, Tammy Butler and Sandy Olliges, all of Bellevue; sons, Mike Forge and Gary Forge, both of Highland Heights; brothers, George Butts of Dayton, Robert Butts of Taylor Mill and Jack Butts of Independence; 27 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Agnes Maria Josephine Gurdon, 77, of Owenton, died Sunday at Owen County Memorial Hospital in Owenton. She was a homemaker, president of Owen County Senior Citizens, and a member of Sweet Owen Homemakers. She served as a poll worker during elections.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Gurdon; sons, George Ferenc Gurdon of Los Angeles and Mario Gurdon of Clearwater, Fla.; a daughter, Rose Marie Juliska Gurdon of Virginia Beach, Va.; brothers, Josephus Wilhelmus Hernicus Schute and Frits Willem Joseph Schute; sisters, Henriette Elisabeth Josephina Maria Schute, Louisa Johanna Josephina Maria Schute, Johanna Hubertina Josephina Marie Schute, Maria Josephine Schute and Constance Josephina Maria Schute; and one grandchild.
