Helen Catherine Berte, 93, of Newport, died at 1 p.m. Saturday at Carmel Manor Nursing Home, Fort Thomas. She was a sales clerk in the jewelry department of Shillito's department store in Cincinnati. Her husband, Raymond Berte, died in 1955.

Survivors include daughters, Rosemary Petracco of Fort Thomas and Helen May Wheeler of Columbus, Ga.; a son, Charles Berte of Highland Heights; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at Corpus Christi Church, Newport. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas. Memorials are suggested to Holy Spirit Church, 825 Washington St., Newport, Ky. 41071. Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas, is handling arrangements.

Thomasine Breaden, 65, of Covington, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a unit manager with St. John Nursing Care, Covington. Her husband, William J. Breaden, died in 1984.

Survivors include daughters, Deborah Strader of Covington and Kimberly Brown of Harrison, Ohio; sisters, Helen Hopper of Sparta and Robin Finley of Covington; a brother, James R. Burke of Petersburg; and two grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Augustine Church, Covington. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, 7730 U. S. 42, Suite C6, Florence, Ky. 41042.

Bert Edward Breeden, 91, of Bedford, died Saturday at Tri-County Baptist Hospital in LaGrange. He was a retired construction worker and former Carroll County jailer. His wife, Nellie Breeden, died in 1978. A son, Leslie Breeden, also preceded him in death.

Survivors include a son, Stanley Breeden of Worthville; a sister, Pauline Simmons of Carrollton; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, Carrollton. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Carrollton.

Marcella M. Franxman, 92, of Fort Wright, died Saturday at St. Charles Care Center in Fort Wright. She was a bookkeeper and a member of St. Benedict Church in Covington, where she was a member of the St. Mary Ladies Society and the Busy Fingers club. She was a former member of St. Joseph Church in Covington.

Survivors include a sister, Rosmary Schmidt of Latonia.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Benedict Church. Visitation will be from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright. Memorials are suggested in the form of Masses.

Marie Bargo Gambrel, 64, of Demossville, died at 8:45 p.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include sons, James Gambrel of Demossville and Baxter Bargo of Barbourville; daughters, Christine Sue Bosley of Florence, Georgia Forbis of Cincinnati and Frances Louise Barnett of Lexington; brothers, Junior Bargo and Donald Bargo, both of Barbourville; sisters, Esslene Hubbard of Jenson, Viola Mills and Madelene Mills, both of Barbourville, Evalene Deaton of Cincinnati and Wilma Jean Rice of Artemus; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown. Visitation will begin there at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Artemus Cemetery.

Athnel M. Hendrick, 72, of Erlanger, died at 12:35 p.m. Saturday at her home. She was a sales clerk with Paul Harris Stores Inc. Her husband, Roy Hendrick, died in 1975.

Survivors include daughters, Karen Kells of Edgewood and Sharon Church of Erlanger; brothers, Ed Parrish of Florida and Clyde Parrish of Beckley, W.Va.; sisters, Kathene Lively of Beckley, W.Va., and Naomi Holliday of Naples, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

Services were this morning at Melton Mortuary, Beckley, W.Va. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Beckely, W.Va. Catchen and Son Funeral Home, Elsmere, is handling arrangements.

William Snooks Hewling, 86, of Latonia, died at 4:30 a.m. Saturday at his home. He was a retired driver with Yellow Cab Co., Covington, and a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Reca Ison Hewling; daughters, Judy Zarr of Las Vegas, Becky Marshall of Covington and Debbie Barbixue of Latonia; stepsons, Bob Cox of Park Hills, Ken Holliman of Jackson, Tom Holliman and Shane Holliman, both of Covington; stepdaughters, Sherry Heitzman of Latonia and Patty Dietz of Edgewood; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great- grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Memorials are suggested to Olsten Home Care, 2670 Chancellor Drive, Crestview Hills, Ky. 41017.

Roy Vincent Holt, 72, of Alexandria, died at 8:20 p.m. Feb. 12 at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas of injuries suffered in an auto accident. He was a retired computer programmer for General Electric in Cincinnati and an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Wila Laverne Holt; a son, Roy J. Holt of Bellevue; and a sister, Shirley Hubbard of Reno, Nev.

Services were at noon today at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington. Burial was in Alexandria Cemetery.

Joseph H. 'Pat' Krummen, 73, of Florence, died at 6:15 p.m. Saturday at St. Luke Hospital West in Florence. He was a retired warehouse manager with Williams and Co., Cincinnati, and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Burlington. He was a member of the Northern Kentucky Baseball Hall of Fame and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Dolly Bogenshutz Krummen; a son, Michael T. Krummen Sr. of Burlington; daughters, Rosalee Buchanan of Florence and Mimi Merrill of Fort Wright; a brother, Jimmy Krummen of Campbell County; sisters, Mary Jo Kohl of Harrison, Ohio, and Ann Baker of Florence; and six grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Visitation will begin there at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Entombment will be in Mother of God Mausoleum, Fort Wright. Paul E. Lonneman, 56, of Park Hills, died Saturday at his home. He was a salesman and a member of Lookout Heights Civic Club.

Survivors include his mother, Kathryn Walker Lonneman of Park Hills; sisters, Judy K. Hegener of Florence and Rita Becker of Erlanger; and a brother, Bob Lonneman of Edgewood.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Agnes Church, Fort Wright. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington. Jerry Middleton, 47, of Burlington, died Saturday in a Boone County auto accident. He was a self-employed truck driver and a member of Sand Run Baptist Church, Hebron.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Ashcraft Middleton; daughters, Jeanetta Middleton of Burlington and Lindsey Middleton, at home; sisters, Norma Jean Farmer and Judy Bingham, both of Burlington, and Minnie Rose York of Lexington; and one granddaughter.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Hebron. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Burlington Cemetery.

Clarence T. Napier, 74, of Burlington, died Friday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Good Faith Lodge No. 95 F&AM, Covington.

Survivors include daughters, Betty Browning of Fort Thomas, Marjorie Miller of Covington and Jean Jordan of Independence; 20 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and one great-great- grandchild.

Alvis A. Roy, 83, of Covington, died Friday at his home. He was a retired tailor and designer with Hyde Park and Palm Beach Clothes, Newport, and a member of Disabled Veterans of America. He was a volunteer for senior citizens groups, a custom cabinet maker and a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. A daughter, Paula Jean Roy, died in 1973.

Survivors include a son, David Roy of Treasure Island, Fla.; daughters, Brenda Clifton and Sharon Klare, both of Bromley; a brother, Carol Roy of Tampa, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Lawrence A. Schmidt, 80, of Cincinnati, formerly of Alexandria, died at 7:30 a.m. Sunday at Anderson Mercy Hospital in Cincinnati. He was a retired tool and die maker with RCA, Cincinnati, and a former employee of M. E. Lyons YMCA, Cincinnati.

Survivors include his wife, Adeline Schmidt; a daughter, Adeline Schmidt of Lake Linden, Mich.; and two grandsons.
