Owenton's Jane Young, served church

Along with their recollections, Jane Young's eight grandchildren will each have a quilt from their grandmother to treasure.

'She made a quilt for each of them, and she continued to sew until arthritis in her hands got too bad,' said Mrs. Young's son, Eugene Young of Owenton.

Mrs. Young, 79, of Owenton, died Sunday in St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington.

A native of the Bethany community in southeastern Owen County, Mrs. Young and her late husband, Leon, once operated a store there. 'It was just a country store. It burned in 1957, and they never built it back,' said Eugene Young.
