Stanley Sparks Jr., 63, of Brooksville, died at 4 p.m. Friday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. He was a retired welder with Trinity Industries Inc., Mount Orab, Ohio, and a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Newport.

Survivors include his wife, Glenna Lee Crookshanks Sparks; sons, Stanley Arel Sparks of Ashland and Rickey Allen Sparks of Burlington; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Moore and Parker Funeral Home, Brooksville. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Brooksville Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

John 'Steve' Steffen, 80, of Fort Mitchell, died at 8:40 a.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. He was a retired buyer with Hale-Justis Drug Co. and a part-time employee of the Villa Hills Civic Club. He was a member of the Northern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame and Kelly Furnish VFW Post No. 7099, Covington, and an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Roberta Steffen; sons, Michael Steffen of Edgewood, Robert Steffen of Florence and Tim Steffen of Villa Hills; a sister, Mary Reckers of Covington; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

Lando Whitis, 78, of Erlanger, died Sunday at Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport.

Mary Allan Wilson, 81, of Cynthiana, formerly of Robertson County, died Saturday at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana. Her husband, Keller Wilson, died in 1985.

Survivors include daughters, Sally Ann Fooks of Kentontown and Kathy Jo Rose of Cynthiana; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Kentontown Christian Church, Robertson County. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Kain and Kabler Funeral Home, Mount Olivet. Burial will be in Kentontown Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Kentontown Cemetery, Route 2, Box 188, Mount Olivet, Ky. 41064.

Sadie Reinhart, raised grandchildren after Beverly Hills fire killed daughter

After the fire at the Beverly Hills Supper Club took the life of her daughter in 1977, Sadie Reinhart became a mother again at the age of 62.

Mrs. Reinhart quit her factory job to raise her daughter's four orphaned children, who were between the ages of 5 and 14 when they came under her wing.

She was a devoted caregiver to her grandchildren, said her son, William Reinhart of Alexandria.

"She cared for them like they were her own," he said.

"She was a super lady. She worked hard all of her life."

Mrs. Reinhart died at 3 a.m. Monday at her granddaughter's home in Covington. The Cold Spring resident was 84.

She grew up in Versailles, Ky., and moved to Northern Kentucky, where she had relatives, in the 1930s.

She met her husband, Edward C. Reinhart, here. They were married nearly 50 years and raised two children in Covington.

An employee for 28 years at Wadsworth Electric Co. in Covington, Mrs. Reinhart quit her job to care for her grandchildren after her daughter, Nora Lee Ellison, died in the supper-club fire that claimed 165 lives.

The father of three of Mrs. Ellison's children also died in the blaze.

Less than five years after the fire, Mrs. Reinhart's husband died, leaving her to raise the children on her own into her 70s.

During that time, she also worked in the cafeteria at St. Vincent De Paul school in South Newport, where Mrs. Reinhart's other grandchildren went to school.

Other survivors include nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent DePaul Church, Newport. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Newport. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.

John P. Brady, 61, of Chase, Mich., formerly of Northern Kentucky, died Saturday at his home. He was a custodian with Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich., and an Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Eileen Schohl Brady; sons, William Brady, Robert Brady, James Brady and Danny Brady, all of Michigan; sisters, Doris Jasper of Fort Thomas and Elaine Butler of Taylor Mill; brothers, Harold Brady of Union, William Brady of Elsmere and Thomas Brady of Covington; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Philip Neri Church, Reed City, Mich. . Memorials are suggested to Home Hospice, 400 Perry Ave., Big Rapids, Mich. 49307; or St. Philip Neri Church, 831 S. Chestnut St., Reed City, Mich. 49677. McDowell Funeral Home, Reed City, is handling arrangements.

Kenneth Conley, 38, of Cincinnati, formerly of Richwood, died at 2:05 p.m. Sunday at Hilltop Nursing Home, Cincinnati. He was a self-employed construction worker.

Survivors include a daughter, Margie Marie Eversole of Elsmere; his mother and stepfather, Margie E. and John Clarke of Elsmere; brothers, Fred Ketron of Morning View, Keith Ketron of Jacksonville, Fla., Rodney Conley and James Clarke, both of Elsmere; sisters, Darlene Shaw of Latonia, Marilyn Ketron of Louisville, Donna Ketron and Teresa Ralls, both of Covington; a stepbrother, Wayne Singer of Cincinnati; and a stepsister, Roberta Singer of Covington.

Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at Erlanger First Church of the Nazarene. Cremation was at Hillside Chapel, Cincinnati.

Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia, is handling arrangements.

Franklin Willis Coyle, 66, of Marianna, Fla., died at 3:20 a.m. Saturday at Flowers Memorial Hospital, Dothan, Ala. He was a retired self-employed plumber.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Coyle; daughters Mary Hanks of San Angelo, Texas , Connie Clemmons, Pat Rose and Georgia Clemmons, all of McKee, and Helen Cokely of Indiana; his father, Gentry Coyle of Latonia Lakes; brothers, Lloyd Coyle of Erlanger, Clifford Coyle of Latonia Lakes, Paul Coyle of Warsaw and William Coyle of Covington; sisters, Dorothy Walthers of Florence, Lula Bushong and Shirley Knox, both of Covington, and Ruth Locke, Janet Frederick, Virginia Topp and Di ana Lynn Keites, all of Wapako neta, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Catchen Funeral Home, Elsmere. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Pythian Grove Cemetery, Berry.

Kody Joseph Dellecave, 3, of Florence, died Saturday at St. Luke Hospital West in Florence.

Survivors include his parents, Patrick and Lisa Dellecave of Florence; a sister, Tayla Dellecave of Florence; grandparents, Pat and Sandy Dellecave of Florence and Kenny and Joann Reid of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and great-grandparents, Nick and Bette Dellecave of Cincinnati and Joseph and Edna Abela of Florence.

James "Jay" C. Durstock, 36, of Cincinnati, died Saturday at Franciscan Hospital-Western Hills, Cincinnati. He volunteered more than 2,000 hours at Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, and was a member of St. Cecilia Church, Cincinnati.

Survivors include his mother, Joan Durstock of Cincinnati; a sister, Julie Spaulding of Cincinnati; brothers, Jeff Durstock, Jerry Durstock and Joe Durstock, all of Cincinnati; and grandmother, Beatrice Durstock of Covington.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Cecilia Church, Cincinnati. Visita tion will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Tredway-Pollitt Funeral Home, Norwood, Ohio. Ishmael Gibson Jr., 62, of Owenton, died Friday at his home. He was a maintenance worker at Georgetown College. His wife, Ruby Vance Switzer Gibson, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his father, Ishmael Gibson Sr. of Owenton; and a brother, Bobby G. Gibson of Worthville.

Herbert "Bo" Hebel, 69, of Bellevue, died at noon Sunday at his home. He was a salesman with Heidelberg Distributing Co., Cincinnati, and a past president of Bellevue Vets. He served as director of the youth league with Bellevue Vets, and was a former Campbell County constable.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Hebel; sons, Gary Hebel of Fort Thomas and Randy Hebel of Bellevue; daughters, Pam Terry, Cindy Klein and Paula Hammond, all of Bellevue; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Wednesday at St. Anthony Church, Bellevue. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery, Mentor. Bernice Marie Kelly, 89, of Newport, died at 8:35 a.m. Monday at Baptist Convalescent Center in Newport. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Charles A. Kelly, died Feb. 15.

Survivors include a daughter, Jill Callahan of Florence; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

No services are planned. Stith Funeral Home, Florence, is han dling arrangements.

Leonard P. Lauer, 66, of Al exandria, died Sunday at University Hospital, Cincinnati. He was the retired owner of Lauer Roof ing Co., Alexandria, and was a member of Catholic Order of Foresters Court No. 1492, Cali fornia, Knights of Columbus Fa ther DeJaco Council No. 5220 in Alexandria, and St. Mary Se niors. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Mary M. Lauer; a son, Jeffrey Lauer of Alexandria; a daughter, Lynette Barnes of Merritt Is land, Fla.; brothers, Raymond Lauer and Frank Lauer, both of Alexandria, and Donald Lauer of California; sisters, Germaine Kremer and Margaret Neltner, both of Camp Springs; and three grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Church, Alexandria. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Alexandria.

Dorothy Mae Livingston, 84, of Newport, died at 6:50 p.m. Friday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a home maker. Her husband, William J. Livingston, died in 1984.

Survivors include a son, William J. Livingston of Dauphin, Pa.; daughters, Vivian Seissiger and Judy Murphy, both of Covington, Nancy Webster of Bellevue and Elaine Collins of Hagerstown, Md.; a sister, Adelaide Welsh of Dayton, Ohio; 14 grand children; and 16 great-grand children.

Memorial Mass of Christian burial was this morning at Corpus Christi Church, Newport. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.

Virginia M. Bauer Mincey, 83, of Largo, Fla., formerly of Newport, died Saturday at Oak Manor Nursing Home, Largo. She was a retired dietitian and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Largo.

Her husband, Donald Mincey, preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Donna A. Horton of Largo; three grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren.

Private graveside services will be Wednesday at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger. Middendorf- Bullock Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.
