Ralph A. Tonnies, 65, of Fort Mitchell, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a sales representative with Ketterer Co., Cincinnati.
A son, Rick Tonnies, died in 1977.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Mayer Tonnies.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Blessed Sacrament Church, Fort Mitchell. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Margaret Hemphill Wolf, 72, of Vero Beach, Fla., formerly of Ludlow, died Saturday at her home.

Lela Finnell, janitor at Turkey Foot school
Lela A. Cook Finnell and her husband, Joseph Finnell, worked as a team at Turkey Foot Middle School, where she was a janitor, and he was a school bus driver.
When Mr. Finnell finished his bus route, he always helped his wife clean classrooms and do maintenance work around the school, said Mrs. Finnell's niece, Rosella Spaulding of Fiskburg.
Mrs. Finnell died at 8:08 a.m. Tuesday at Hillview Manor Personal Care Center in Butler. The Fiskburg resident was 89.
She and her husband worked at the school for about six years, then they moved to Leesburg, Fla., to be close to the water so that Mr. Finnell could fish and boat.
After 4 1/2 years, the couple longed for their family, so they returned to the Demossville area.
They lived in their Fiskburg home for 19 years, until Mr. Finnell's death in 1998.
Mrs. Finnell, who had one son by a previous marriage, lived in Kenton County and Campbell County before she married Mr. Finnell, her husband of 39 years.
She raised her son and cared for her mother in her home.
Mrs. Spaulding described her aunt as independent and set in her ways.
"She didn't want anybody to do anything much for her," she said.
"She was very independent."
Other survivors include a son, Leonard Cook of Cynthiana; and a sister, Dorothy Patterson of West Monroe, La.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Gardnersville Cemetery.

Donald H. Henry, 62, of Woodlawn, died Monday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas. He was a salesman for Terrell and Nobis and a former professional musician.
Survivors include his wife, Rosella Henry; a son, Donald H. Henry Jr. of Covington; a daughter, Diane Carroll of Covington; his mother, Nellie Henry of Covington; and four grandchildren.

John Honeycutt, 80, of Covington, died at 8:15 p.m. Monday at his residence. He was a retired sign maker for Donaldson Art Sign Co. and a member of West Covington Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Jean Hughett Honeycutt; sons, Edward Honeycutt and Avery Honeycutt, both of Helenwood, Tenn., Porter Honeycutt of Norwood, Ohio, Arzo Honeycutt of Blanchester, Ohio, and Lynn Acres of Covington; daughters, Dessie Coffey of Helenwood, Tenn., Essie Lowe of Pioneer, Tenn., Pam Acres Buchheit of Fairfield, Ohio, and Wanda Acres Kemen of Georgia; a sister, Daisy York of Florida; 28 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Kimbell Hope Laskey, daughter of Paul C. and Kris Laskey of Fort Thomas, was stillborn Monday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas.

Frances Odeline Perry, 94, of Newport, died Sunday at Baptist Convalescent Center in Newport. She was a beautician with Sinton Hotel, Cincinnati. Her husband, Norbert Perry, died in 1974. A daughter, Pauline Couch, died in 1982.
Survivors include a daughter, Bette McAnally Fennell of Fort Thomas; half-sisters, Sarah Leonard and Maude B. Reed, both of Shelbyville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Private services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas. Ft. Wright's Rosemary Vetter Westling, co-owned Covington's Heidel's Hall Cafe
Rosemary Vetter Westling and her husband, William, ran a Covington saloon for more than 30 years.
Heidel's Hall Cafe also was a restaurant and a gathering hall before it closed in the early 1980s. Mrs. Westling cooked and tended bar for many years.
"She was just a beautiful person who never met a person who didn't like her," said a son, Michael W. Westling of Fort Wright.
Mrs. Westling died at 2:10 a.m. Wednesday at her home. The Fort Wright resident was 79.
Her husband bought the building at 21st and Russell streets after he returned from serving in World War II. "There weren't many jobs available then, and my dad was looking to make a livelihood. He had the opportunity to buy the building, and he took it," Michael Westling said.
The restaurant closed in the 1960s, but the bar stayed open until the early 1980s. The Westling family still owns the building.
"At one time, it was a pretty well-known spot," Mrs. Westling's son said.
Mrs. Westling grew up in Covington and Fort Mitchell. She went to beauty school and often cut hair for family and neighbors.
During the war, she worked at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton. In 1945, she married, and the couple had two children.
The young family lived in an apartment above their cafe for about eight years before moving to Fort Wright, where Mr. and Mrs. Westling lived the rest of their lives. Mr. Westling died in 1997.
After the business closed, Mrs. Westling began helping her daughter, who owns Graeter's ice cream parlors in Northern Kentucky. Mrs. Westling packaged the candy sold at the stores for more than 10 years.
"It was like a cottage industry for her," her son said.
Other survivors include a daughter, Rosemarie Brumfield of Fort Thomas; a brother, Charles Vetter of Crestivew Hills; and three grandchildren.

Sandra Lee Bailey Brown, 47, of Parksville, S.C., formerly of Northern Kentucky, died Monday at her home. She was a homemaker and a retired employee of the Ford Motor Co. in Saline, Mich.
Survivors include her husband, Alfred L. Brown; sons, Clayton Dwayne Brown and Marc Allen Brown, both of Parksville, S.C.; her mother and stepfather, Evelyn Bailey Blackburn and Lyman Blackburn, both of Union; a brother, Timothy E. Bailey of Cincinnati; and a sister, Barbara J. Ledbetter of Cincinnati.

James J. D'Ambrosio, 75, of Edgewood, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a retired salesman with Zenith and Fisher Electronics, both in Cincinnati, and a Marine Corps veteran. A son, Jimmy D'Ambrosio, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Marion Hacker D'Ambrosio; daughters, Toni D'Ambrosio of Fort Mitchell and Gina Cooper of Florence; a son, Mark D'Ambrosio of Fort Mitchell; a sister, Therese Daunt of Albuquerque, N.M.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Charlotte J. Grant, 75, of Independence, died at 2 a.m. Wednesday at Unity Court Nursing Home, Cincinnati. She was a homemaker.
