Mary Estella Auchter, 93, of Falmouth, died Thursday at Grand Haven Nursing Home in Cynthiana. She was a member of Falmouth Baptist Church.

Her husband, Henry Auchter; a son, Chester Auchter; and a daughter, Blanche Weisenberger, preceded her in death. Survivors include brothers, Cecil Sullivan of Falmouth and Clyde Sullivan of Georgia; sisters, Carrie Stewart of Covington, Vidas Race of Butler and Fern Smith of Moline, Ill.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth, with visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be in Turner Ridge Cemetery, Pendle- ton County. Memorials are suggested to Falmouth Baptist Church, Fourth Street, Falmouth, Ky. 41040.

Hattie Lee Brown, 78, of Corinth, died Thursday at St. Joseph Hospital's Hospice Care Unit in Lexington. She was a retired beautician and a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Holbrook. She also attended Corinth Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Ruel Brown; sons, Darrell Brown and David Brown of Williamstown, Donald Brown of Louisa and Kevin Brown of Lexington; daughters, Rhonda Fiscus of Corinth and Kimberly Brown of Solon, Ohio; a brother, Henry Skirvin of Williamstown; a sister, Opal Colcord of Dry Ridge; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Rogers Funeral Home, Corinth, with visitation 5 to 9 p.m. today. Burial will be in Eckler Cemetery, Corinth. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Drive, Lexington, Ky. 40504.

Anne Webb Buren, 63, of Edgewood, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth North Hospice Unit in Covington. She was a homemaker and a member of New Friends of Kentucky and of the Appointments and Nickels Card Playing Club.

Her husband, William E. Buren, died in 1990. Survivors include sons, Bill Buren of Erlanger and Mac Buren of Florence; daughters, Cindy Collins of Taylor Mill and Gwen Travis of Erlanger; her mother, Hazel McCord of Louisville; a brother, Bill McCord of Louisville; and five grandchildren.

Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. today at St. Agnes Church, Fort Wright. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, 7730 U. S. 42, Suite C6, Florence, Ky. 41042.

Linda Sue Burton Cook, 49, of Bellevue, died at 12:35 a.m. Friday at her residence. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne Cook; daughters, Kimberly Tramnell and Tammy Vance of Bellevue, Heather Keifer of Dayton and Cindy Jewell of Burlington; sisters, Jeanie Noel of Newport and Vicky Schiller of Bellevue; brothers, Albert Burton, Michael Burton and Richard Burton of Newport, Larry Burton and James Burton of Fort Thomas and John Burton of Bellevue; eight grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church, Bellevue. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Newport, with prayers at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.

Dorothy Elliot Diehl Davis, 88, of Cincinnati, formerly of Fort Mitchell, died Thursday at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Covington, and the Junior League of Cincinnati.

Survivors include a daughter, Patti Davis Ballard of Dayton, Ohio, and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Episcopal Church, Covington. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420.

Enola Gilbert, 94, of Highland Heights, died at 5:40 a.m. Friday at Lakeside Place Nursing Home in Highland Heights. She was a homemaker. Her husband, George Gilbert, died in 1982.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Alexandria Funeral Home, with visitation from 10 a.m. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.

Pearline Huber, 57, of Southgate, died Friday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas.

Juanita Tilton Jett, 73, of Brooksville, died Thursday at Augusta Extended Care in Augusta. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Clyde A. Jett, preceded her in death.

Survivors include daughters, Linda Jett Hastings of Franklin, Ohio, and Dianna Jett Smith of Brooksville; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Bracken Memorial Cemetery, Bracken County. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hope, 1 W. McDonald Parkway, Maysville, Ky. 41056. Robertson County Funeral Home, Mount Olivet, is handling arrangements.

Mary Louise Kruse, 84, of Lakeside Park, died Thursday at Woodspoint Care Center in Florence. She was a retired bookkeeper for Knoll Electric Supply, Cincinnati, and a member of the Rosary Altar Society at St. Henry Church, Elsmere.

Survivors include sons, Tom Kruse of Marysville, Ohio, Jim Kruse of Athens, Tenn., and Bob Kruse of Indianapolis; sisters, Ruth Zumbiel of Edgewood and Dorothy Iker of Erlanger; a brother, Robert Weigel of Atlanta; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Church, Fort Mitchell. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Roger T. Moore, 92, of Ludlow, died at 5:35 a.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood. He was a retired regulator for Baldwin Piano Co., Cincinnati and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Sts. Boniface and James Church, Ludlow, and U.S. Steel Workers Union, Cincinnati.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Beach Moore; a son, Thomas Moore of Demossville; a sister, Margaret Offutt of Covington; and two grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sts. Boniface and James Church, Ludlow. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, Ludlow. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Allie B. Roland, 86, of Elsmere, died at 7:23 a.m. Friday at St. Luke Hospital West in Florence. He was a retired mechanic for Stewart Iron Works. He was a Baptist and a member of the United Steel Workers Union.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Mason Roland; a daughter, Martha Whaley of Cincinnati; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence, with visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.

Mary Elizabeth Wenz, 80, of Augusta, died Thursday at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. She was a homemaker and a former apartment manager for Mary Ingles Manor, Augusta. She was a member of St. Augustine Church, Augusta.

Her husband, John A. Wenz, died in 1966. A daughter, Mary E. Wenz, also preceded her in death. Survivors include sons, Jerry Wenz of Augusta and John Wenz of Mount Sterling; a brother, Robert Perkins of Augusta; sisters, Agnes Bonar and Thelma Ulrich of Augusta, Betty Habermehl of Foster, Francis Ernest of Germantown and Louise Appleman of North Carolina; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Augustine Church, Augusta. Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Metcalfe-Hennessey Funeral Home, Augusta, with prayers at 8:30 p.m. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Maysville. Memorials are suggested to St. Augustine Church, Fourth Street, Augusta, Ky. 41002.

James A. Rank, IRS retiree

James A. Rank was a World War II veteran and retired Internal Revenue Service employee who enjoyed climbing behind the wheel of his recreational vehicle and hitting the road with his wife.

Mr. Rank also had a special place in his heart for young people.

"We had a neighborhood full of children, and he loved every one of them," said his wife of 29 years, Helen Rank.

"They all loved him, and they're coming back now and telling me about their experiences with him and how he helped them."

Mr. Rank, 81, of Florence, died Friday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit.

The Army veteran of World War II served in the Aleutian Islands and in Germany.

He worked about 15 years for the IRS in Covington before retiring in 1979. Mr. Rank was a member of the Florence Baptist Church.

He and Mrs. Rank loved to travel in their RV. "We went to every state," she said. "We went to every province in Canada. We went into Mexico."

In 1974, she and her husband helped found the "Good Sam Angels," the Northern Kentucky chapter of the Good Sam Camping Club.

He also leaves a brother, Elmer Franklin Rank of Abilene, Kan.

Services will be private. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery in Taylor Mill. Stith Funeral Home in Florence is handling arrangements.

Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, 401 E. 20th St., Covington, Ky. 41014.

Edith Mae Connolly, 75, of Lakeside Park, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a retired medical technologist.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Mother of God Church, Covington. Visitation will begin there at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright. Memorials are suggested to Mother of God Memorial Fund, 119 W. Sixth St., Covington, Ky., 41011. Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger, is handling arrangements.

Thomas S. Crouch, 78, of Independence, died at 2:45 p.m. Friday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. He was a retired maintenance welder with Ford Motor Co., and a member of Covington Baptist Temple. A son, George Crouch, died in 1997.

Survivors include his wife, Madeline Noble Crouch; daughters, Sue Powell and Cindy Finn, both of Independence; sons, Joe Crouch of Union and Jerry Crouch of Independence; sisters, Mary Woodrum of St. Albans, W.Va., Louise Estapa of Bay St. Louis, Miss., and Rose Howell, Kay Stone and Audrey Humphries, all of Charleston, W.Va., and Jane Degler of Nitro, W.Va.; a brother, Cledith Crouch of Alabama; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Burlington Cemetery.
