Wallace Ruby Jr.

HENDERSON - Wallace R. Ruby Jr., 48, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, in a drowning incident in Evansville.

He was formerly employed at Scott Lumber and Sights Denim in Henderson.

Surviving are his aunt and uncle who raised him, Wade and Cordie Ann Tapp of Henderson; three sisters, Phyillis Jackson of Henderson, Shaketa Bowman of Earlington and Patricia Adams of Germany; a brother, Donald Jackson of Indianapolis; his grandmother, Mary Irvin of Henderson; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Seventh Street Baptist Church, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery in Dixon.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time at the church. Mason Brothers' Audubon Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

James Bryant

MADISONVILLE — James Edward Bryant, 86, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at Senior Citizens Nursing Home.

He was a self-employed logger and member of Fellowship Temple.

Surviving are five daughters, Liz Patterson of Earlington, Pauline Naos of Longview, Wash., Vicky Givens and Rita Kay Groves, both of Madisonville, and Frieda Mitchell of Suthards; six sons, Johnny and Ronnie Bryant, both of Madisonville, Nathan and Doug Bryant, both of Anton, Edward Bryant of Warner Robins, Ga., and Roger Petitt of Bremen; two sisters, Catherine Blanchard of Nebo and Cordie Young of Madisonville; a brother, Ira of Madisonville; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Union Temple Cemetery. There will be no visitation at Harris Funeral Home.

John Cox

UTICA — John H. Cox, 70, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System of cancer.
He retired from GE Plastics in Mount Vernon, Ind. He was a Baptist and a member of the Eagles.

Surviving are his wife of four years, Mary Ann; a daughter, Pat Poole of Mount Vernon; two stepdaughters, Pamela E. Hoover of Owensboro and Leeanne Yocum of Roseville, Ohio; a son, John of Utica; a stepson, James E. Ford of Owensboro; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. His first wife, Edie, died in 1996.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro, with burial in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Ramona Paris

PRIDE — Ramona L. Paris, 87, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at her home.

She was a member of Pride Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Myra Gibson of Pride; a son, Ronnie of Pride; a sister, Martha Pryor of Sturgis; and three grandchildren. A daughter, Barbara, died in 1999.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis, with burial in Pythian Ridge Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Robert Trowbridge

SULLIVAN — Robert C. Trowbridge, 70, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at his home of heart failure.

He was a Korean War veteran, serving with the 89th Airborne Division.

He was a member of Cave Springs General Baptist Church

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Barbara; three daughters, Patti Hughes of Marion, Janet Gass of Sturgis and Vicky Welborn of Sullivan; two sons, Kenny of Morganfield and Bobby of Sullivan; a half sister, Beverly Coleman of Denver, Colo.; a brother, Charles of Denver; a half brother, Paul Clark of Denver; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis, with burial in Rosebud Cemetery in Crittenden County.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony's Hospice.

William Turley

SMITH MILLS — William "Doug" Turley, 62, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at Select Specialty Hospital-Evansville of cancer.

He was an Army veteran and member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Martha; a daughter, Christie Turley of Smith Mills; a half sister, Gladys Cornwell of Henderson; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, with burial in Fairmont Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a 6 p.m. rosary service, and until 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.

Rhiannon Storm Hallmark
Rhiannon Storm Hallmark, infant daughter of Tamara Littrell and Chris Hallmark, both of Henderson, died at 1:10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, at Methodist Hospital in Henderson.

In addition to her parents, survivors include one sister, Kristyn Elizabeth Hallmark; one brother, Alexander Michael Hallmark; one grandmother, Beverly Stone Yount of Henderson; one grandfather, David Littrell of Henderson.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Benton-Glunt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jane M. Meahl

Jane M. Meahl, 85, Henderson, formerly of Tavares, Fla., died at 9:25 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001, at Methodist Hospital.

She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Temple. She and her husband owned and operated Meahl's TV Sales and Service for 47 years in Henderson and Tavares, Fla.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, David Earl Meahl, one sister, Lillian Dahlstrom of Seattle; and one niece.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. The Rev. R. Joseph Tricquet Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. today at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Immanuel Baptist Temple.

Herman P. Owen

STURGIS -- Herman P. Owen, 92, Sturgis, died at 8:35 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at Medco Center of Henderson.

He was the oldest male member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Sturgis.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Owen, who died in 1995.

Survivors include one daughter, Sandra James of Sturgis; two sons, Frank Owen of Henderson and Billy G. Owen of Sturgis; one brother, Joe Owen of Clovis, Calif.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis. The Revs. A.G. Winters and Richard Ramsey will officiate. Burial will be in Pythian Ridge Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 tonight and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Dorothy Fox
MADISONVILLE — Dorothy E. Fox, 85, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, at Senior Citizens Nursing Home.
She had worked for the former Ideal Cafe and was a member of the Grapevine Christian Church.
Surviving are two sisters, Louise Levin and Doris Cartwright, both of Evansville; two brothers, James and W.R. "Bill" Thomas, both of Madisonville; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Harris Funeral Home, with burial in Grapevine Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Green River Hospice.
