Bruce Micharel Hubbard
Disabled truck driver
Bruce Michael Hubbard, 41, Covington, Ky., died at his residence on Tuesday, July 25, 2000.
Born in Laurel County, Sept. 17, 1958, he was the son of J.D. and Lois Mae (Oliver) Hubbard, Covington. A disabled truck driver, he was a member of the Community Pentecostal Church, Independence, Ky., and a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his parents; wife, Sharon (Horn) Hubbard, London; a son, Bruce Michael Hubbard, II, and a daughter, Susan Hubbard, both of London; and a sister, Linda Gayle Dyer, Florence, Ky.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. James E. Floyd officiating.
Burial followed in the Old Way Cemetery, London.

Getson Roberts
Retired
Getson Roberts, 75, London, formerly of Clay County, died Monday, July 24, 2000, at Marymount Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife, Dell Roberts, London; and the following children, Donna Roberts and fiance Jerome Jarvis, Rhonda Roberts Miller and husband, Gary, all of Manchester, and Darlene Porter and husband, Henry Clay of London; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at the Rominger Funeral Home chapel in Manchester.
Burial followed in the Manchester Memorial Gardens.

Polly Wagers
Homemaker
Polly Wagers, 61, Keavy Road, London, died Tuesday, July 25, 2000, at the Baptist Regional Medical Center, Corbin.
Born in Perry County on January 4, 1939, she was the daughter of Waltis Kilburn and the late Doshia Kilburn. She was a member of the Keavy Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Cornell Wagers; her father, Waltis Kilburn; three daughters, Athaleen Thomas, London, Reba Dyvonne Scalf and Patricia Hall, both of Corbin; six sisters, Tiney Farris, Greenwood, Ind., Jewleen Slone, Akron, Ind., Imogene Beckner, Kathleen Stamper, Josephine Cornett and Lorene Altizer, all of London; three brothers, Arvil Kilburn, Carl Kilburn and Waltis Kilburn Jr., all of London; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother; two brothers, Jessie Kilburn and Basco Kilburn; and two sisters, Marie Wells and Oma Hensley.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wagers will be conducted today (Friday), July 28, at 1 p.m. at the Laurel Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Jerry Brown officiating.
Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery.

Mary Marcum
Homemaker
Mary Marcum, 96, 396 Westerfield Road, London, died at the Hillcrest Nursing Home, Corbin, Tuesday, July 25, 2000.
Born in Clay County, Dec. 15, 1903, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Emily Wagers Marcum. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Marcum was preceded in death by her husbands, John Benge, and Carlo Foister.
Survivors include a son, Willie Foister, London; a sister, Sophia Mills, Hamilton, Ohio; and a nephew, Delbert Tatman, London; 11 grandchildren; and several great and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at the Bowling Funeral Home chapel with Farmer J. Smith and Roger Miller officiating.
Burial followed in the Merrimac Cemetery, London.

Grace L. Day
Instructional Aide
Grace L. Day, 53, of 345 Garland Road, London, Kentucky, died Friday, July 21, 2000, at her residence from natural causes.
Born April 27, 1947, in Laurel County, Kentucky, she was an instructional aide at South Laurel Middle School and member of the Wyatts Chapel Methodist Church in London.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Robert Garland.
Survivors include her mother, Martha (Nicholson) Garland of London, Ky.; her husband, Howard Day of London, Ky.; a son, Timothy W. Day of London, Ky.; two sisters, Peggy Martin of Manchester, Ky., and Mattie Brown of Central City, Ky.; and three brothers, James Garland of Hamilton, Ohio, Charles Garland of Hammond, Ind., and Oscar Garland of Shepherdsville, Ky.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 23, at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. R.V. Halcomb and the Rev. Randy Allen officiating. Burial followed in the Wyatts Chapel Cemetery.

Delford Lewis
Delford Lewis, 57, of Hamilton, Ohio, died Thursday, July 20, 2000, in Hamilton.
Born October 29, 1942, in London, Kentucky, he attended Day Community Center at Mercy Hospital and was an honorary member of Butler 407 Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Although he had a handicap, he had a loving smile and gentle hug for all and never knew a stranger. His great joy in life was to listen and sing country and bluegrass music, dancing, playing with his great-great-nephew and niece, and riding in the pickup truck with their dad.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillie A. (McCowan) Lewis and Caddie Lewis; a brother, Eldon Lewis; and a niece, Darlene Sweet.
Survivors include four sisters, Inez McNew and husband Charlie and Eunice Sweet, both of Hamilton, Ohio, Ina Profitt of London, Ky., and Delphine Arvin and husband Harvey of Brookville, Ind.; a brother, Delmas Lewis and wife Flonnie of Corbin, Ky.; six nieces, Brenda, Betty, Linda, Darlene, Tammy and Tania; six nephews, Bobby, Larry, Willard, Gary, Dale and Dean; and other great and great-great-nieces and nephews including Jackie Vandeventer, Mark Irvine, Chris Irvine, Lillianya Rebecca Isaacs, Paula Sizemore, Tim Sizemore, Jerry Sizemore, Jacob Sizemore, Cory Moss, Brooklie Moss, Zachery Moss, Rochel Arvin, Kelsy Arvin, Michael Vandeventer and Nicci Vandeventer; Doyle Proffitt, Darrell Proffitt, Tara Gilbert, Jonathan Early, Brittani Irvine, Collin Irvine, Lindsey Irvine and Logan Irvine.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 24, at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roy Hamblin of Union Baptist Church officiating. Burial followed in the Chesnut Cemetery at London, Ky.
Pallbearers will be Mark Irvine, Chris Irvine, Michael Vandeventer, Ryan Isaacs, Bill Vandeventer and Dale Lewis.

Elder Delph
Truck driver
Elder Delph, 84, of Abutment Road, London, Kentucky, died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at the Marymount Medical Center in London.
Born January 6, 1916, in Clay County, Kentucky, he was a retired truck driver and member of the Laurel Chapel Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary (Wagers) Delph and Charlie Delph.
Survivors include his wife, Oleta (Blankenship) Delph; two daughters, Marlene Brock of London, Ky., and Teresa Evans of Gainesville, Texas ; two sons, Bob Delph and Wayne Delph, both of London, Ky.; a sister, Martha McDowell of Letterbox, Ky.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 25, at the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Boby Wyatt and Roy McWhorter officiating. Burial followed in the Wiggington Cemetery at London.
