Gladys Cathers, 88, of Fairview Street, Corbin, Kentucky, died Wednesday, September 19, 2001, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Alphia (Fields) and Thomas Bennett; and was preceded in death by her husband, Henry W. Cathers.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 22, at the Corbin Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, September 21, at the Corbin Funeral Home.

Floyd O. Rice
Mechanical engineer
Floyd O. Rice, 82, of Somerset Road, London, Kentucky, died Monday, September 17, 2001, at his residence. He was the son of the late Nannie and Walter Rice.
Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, September 21, at the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the Hibbard Cemetery. Visitation is at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour.

Eugene E. Dunham
Truck driver, carpenter
Eugene E. Dunham, 71, of Spring Street, London, Kentucky, died Tuesday, September 18, 2001, at the Veterans Administration Hospital on Leestown Road in Lexington, Kentucky.
Born April 4, 1931, in Champain County, Ohio, he was a truck driver and carpenter, a U.S. Army veteran, and a believer in the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth (Wilson) Dunham and Emerson Dunham; his wife, Marie Elliott Dunham; and two step-sons, Larry Dunham and Gary Dunham.
Survivors include his brother, Roger Dunham of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; four sisters, Dorothy Leaver, Hilda Zourhar and Carol Snyder, all three of Tiffon, Ohio, and Annabelle Castonguay of Laplata, Maryland; a granddaughter, Amanda Dunham of Mansfield, Ohio; and two great-grandchildren.
There will be no visitation. London Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Orpha Ardillia Cheek

Orpha Ardillia Cheek, 88, of Marydell Road, London, Kentucky, died Wednesday, September 12, 2001, at the Corbin Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late Sarah (McKeehan) Wyatt and Arthur Wyatt, and was preceded in death by her husband, Orland Cheek.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 14, at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the Hoskins Cemetery.

Lois Herron
Homemaker
Lois Herron, 84, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, a former resident of London, Kentucky, died Thursday, September 13, 2001, at the Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach.
Born November 11, 1916, in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was a homemaker and a charter member of the First Presbyterian Church of London.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Metta (Barton) Duncan and Omar Duncan; and her husband, Otis Herron.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Evans of Atlanta, Georgia, and Patty Follmer of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, September 16, 2001, at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rich Fifield officiating.
Burial followed in the A.R. Dyche Memorial Park at London.
In lieu of flowers, memorials should be sent to: Grand Strand Hospital, Auxiliary Scholarship, 809 82 Parkway, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572.

Delanie Russell

Delanie Russell, 81, of Laurel Road, London, Kentucky, died Wednesday, December 5, 2001, at the Hillcrest Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late Malvery (York) and Arthur Hughes, and was preceded in death by her first husband, Boyd Brewer, and second husband, Robert Russell.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 8, at the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the Laurel River Cemetery at London.

Willie Curry

Willie Curry, 73, of Harris Cemetery Road, London, Kentucky, died Friday, December 7, 2001, at the Marymount Medical Center in London. He was the son of the late Early (Curry) and Johnny Curry; and is survived by his wife, Opha Curry of London.
Funeral services were held Sunday, December 9, at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the Gregory Cemetery at London.

W.J. Blankenship

W.J. “Rocky” Blankenship, 90, of Large Road, Talbott, Tennessee, formerly of Laurel County, Kentucky, died Thursday, December 6, 2001, at the Morristown-Hamblen Health Care Center. He was the son of the late Jessie Ann (Corn) and James Thomas Blankenship, and was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Annalee (Black) Blankenship.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 8, at the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the Nelson Cemetery at East Bernstadt, Kentucky.

Edith Carpenter Nantz
Nurse’s aide
Edith Carpenter Nantz, 64, of Pleasant View Road, London, Kentucky, died Thursday, December 6, 2001, as a result of an auto accident 5.2 miles west of Annville, Kentucky.
Born June 21, 1937, in Jackson County, Kentucky, she was a nurse’s aide and member of the Assembly of God Church in London.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Carpenter.
Survivors include her mother, Rosa (Jones) Carpenter of Annville, Ky.; her former husband, Carl Nantz of London, Ky.; three daughters, Ludeana Reams, Tammy Nantz and Brandy Nantz, all of London, Ky.; three sons, Terry Nantz of East Bernstadt, Ky., Roger Nantz and Carl B. Nantz, both of London, Ky.; three sisters, Dorothy Whitaker and Opal Sizemore, both of London, Ky., and Jean Carpenter of Bond, Ky.; five brothers, Earl Carpenter, Ray Carpenter, Marvin Carpenter and Roy Carpenter, all of Bond, Ky., and Bert Lee Carpenter of London, Ky.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held 3 p.m. Sunday, December 9, at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ernest Blair and Bro. Marvin Napier officiating.
Burial followed in the Nantz Cemetery at London.
