George E. “Butch” Fisk, 63, of East Sycamore Street, Kinumndy, Illinois, died Wednesday, November 27, 2002, at the Salem Township Hospital in Salem, Illinois. He was the son of the late Nellie (Prather) and George A. Fisk, and is survived by his wife, Elaine (Mattox) Fisk of Salem.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 30, at the Rogers-Atkins Funeral Home Chapel in Salem, Illinois, with burial following in the East Lawn Cemetery
at Salem.
Gwendolyn B. Fuelling

Gwendolyn B. Fuelling, 89, of Echo Valley Road, Lily, Kentucky, died Sunday, December 1, 2002, at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Anna (Boyce) and Guy Willard Roser, and was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Fuelling.
A private family memorial services will be conducted at a later date with arrangements by the Corbin Funeral Home.

Mary Greer, 76, of Skyline Drive, London, Kentucky, died Friday, December 6, 2002, at the Rockcastle County Hospital.
Born July 8, 1926, in Knox County, Kentucky, she was a teacher, member of the First Baptist Church of London, and member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eva Hammons and Jim Hammons; her husband, Warren G. Greer Sr.; her brother, Harold Hammons; and four grandchildren, John Michael “Buzzy” Greer, Robert Todd Greer, Warren Stephen Greer, and Kamela Lynne Greer.
Survivors include three sons, James Mel Greer and wife Vicky, Robert Gill Greer, Warren G. “Gam” Greer Jr. and wife Rebecca, all of London, Kentucky; a daughter, Brenda Jeffrey and husband Barry of London, Kentucky; five brothers, Chester Hammons, Jerry Hammons, Ray Hammons and Virgil Hammons, all of London, Kentucky, and Glenn Hammons of Cecilia, Kentucky; a sister, Evelyn Stansbury of Dade City, Florida; and three grandchildren, Abigail Kirsten Greer, Amanda Mariel Greer and Jordan Greer.
Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 10, at the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Lester and the Rev. W.B. Bingham officiating.
Burial followed in the A.R. Dyche Memorial Park at London.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Brashear, Jack Eichert, Mousie Gray, Sandy McDaniel, Ernie Robbins and Denvis Sasser.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Greer Children Memorial Fund at First Baptist Church, London.

Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Monday, December 9, at the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the Gregory Cemetery

Lora Ethel Hale

Lora Ethel Hale, age 91, a former resident of Laurel County, Kentucky, and Franklin, Ohio, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2002, at the River Valley Nursing Home in Butler, Kentucky.
She was born in Wilton, Kentucky, on February 13, 1911, the daughter of the late James and Amy Polly.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Roy Hale; two sons, Carl Hale and Michael Hale; and two sisters, Lola Karr and Mae Cornn.
Surviving are two sons, Jack Hale of Franklin, Ohio, and Larry Hale of Keavy, Kentucky; two daughters, Wanda Wyatt of Butler, Kentucky, and Wilma Turner of Middletown, Ohio; a brother, Cecil Polly of Kentucky; a sister, Gladys, of Kentucky; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 10, at the Locust Grove Cemetery
with the Rev. Muslin officiating.
Burial followed in Locust Grove Cemetery
under the direction of the House-Rawlings Funeral Home.
Nanine Ormsby Herron
London, Kentucky

Nanine Ormsby Herron of London, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2002, at her home.
She was born October 20, 1917, in Macon, Mississippi, and moved to London with her family in 1921.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, John L Ormsby and William S. Ormsby.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Herron, of the home; one son, George, of Taylors, South Carolina; two daughters, Kathy Lawson of Hamilton, Ohio, and Lucille Holman of London, Kentucky; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Edmonia Davies of Sarasota, Florida.
She attended London City Schools and graduated from Sue Bennett College with a degree in music. In her younger years she was a member of the Junior Women’s Club and during World War II was a volunteer in the Red Cross Women’s Auxiliary. In 1936, Nanine was a runner-up in the Mountain Laurel Festival beauty pageant. She was a member of the First Christian Church of London.
Funeral services for Nanine Ormsby Herron were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the First Christian Church of London with the Rev. Chuck Babcock and the Rev. Jenny Hawkins officiating.
Burial followed in the A.R. Dyche Memorial Park under the direction of the House-Rawlings Funeral Home.

Michael Merritt Jervis, 52, of Titusville, Florida, formerly of Laurel County, died Wednesday, November 27, 2002, in Florida. He was the son of the late Raymond Calvin Jervis, and is survived by his mother, Louise (Tyree) Jervice of London, Kentucky, and wife, Rose Jervis of Titusville, Florida.
