Wilma Virginia (Ooten) Littrell, 73, of Oneonta, Alabama, formerly of Laurel County, Kentucky, died Monday, August 4, 2003, at the TLC Nursing Center in Oneonta.
Born June 24, 1930, in Jamestown, Tennessee, she was a housewife and believer in the Holiness faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie Ooten and John Wesley Ooten; and her husband, Willard Littrell.
Survivors include two sons, James Littrell and wife Sharron of Oneonta, Alabama, and Randy Littrell and wife Gila of Gadsden, Alabama; two brothers, Bud Ooten of Corbin, Kentucky, and Johnny Ooten of London, Kentucky; two sisters, Loriane Ooten of Williamsburg, Kentucky, and Linda Ooten of Taylorsville, Kentucky; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 6, at the London Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Hershel Walker officiating.
Burial followed in the Eminence Cemetery at Eminence, Kentucky.
Pallbearers were Chuck Littrell, Robert Littrell, Jesse Littrell, Jackie Littrell, Jeremy Littrell and Jessica Littrell.

Lula Miller
Eubank, Kentucky
August 2, 2003
Lula Miller, 90, of East Bernstadt, Kentucky, died Saturday, August 2, 2003, at Eubank, Kentucky.
Born March 18, 1913, in Laurel County, Kentucky, she was a homemaker and affiliated with the Pentecostal faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emma Meadows and Marion Meadows; her husband, Talby Miller; two sons, Albert Miller and Kenneth Miller; siblings Lilly Williams, Maude Fields, John Meadows, Will Meadows, Grant Meadows, Ted Meadows, Ed Meadows and Tom Meadows; four infant children; and one granddaughter.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Margaret Miller of Eubank, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Kenneth Miller and wife Janice; Daniel Miller and wife Kathy of East Bernstadt, Kentucky; James Miller and wife Tabatha of Somerset, Kentucky, Timothy Miller of East Bernstadt, Kentucky, Frank Miller of London, Kentucky, and Sonja Simpson and husband Billy of East Bernstadt, Kentucky; a special friend, Janet Troxell; and many nieces and nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, at the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Carr officiating.
Burial will follow in the Snuffer Cemetery at East Bernstadt.

Opal Opens
Edmonton, Kentucky
August 3, 2003
Opal (Hampton) Owens, 75, of Dial Street, Edmonton, Kentucky, formerly of Laurel County, Kentucky, died Sunday, August 3, 2003, at her residence.
Born April 20, 1928, in Laurel County, Kentucky, she was a housewife and believer in the Protestant faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martha (Bruner) Hampton and Jim Hampton.
Survivors include her husband, Lee Owens of Edmonton, Kentucky; two daughters, Etta Owens and husband James of Fogertown, Kentucky, and Imogene Ray and husband Ed of Pope, Mississippi; a son, James Madden and wife Gina of Saulsbury, Tennessee; a brothers, Joe Hampton and wife Shirley of Bay City, Michigan; three sisters, Phoebe Allen and Kitty Ivey, both of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Daisy Smith of London, Kentucky; six grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, at the London Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jim Madden officiating.
Burial followed in the A.R. Dyche Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Steve Madden, James Johnson, Dale McQuay, Glenn Purdy, Ed Ray and David Garza.

Myrtle House Slusher
London, Kentucky
August 1, 2003
Myrtle House Slusher, 76, of London, Kentucky, died Friday, August 1, 2003, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
Myrtle House Slusher was born on July 21, 1927, in Laurel County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Gilbert and Mattie Garland House. She was united in marriage to Jerome R. Slusher, who preceded her in death on June 2, 1985.
She was the mother of Tracy Gabbard and Marsheila Roberts, both of London, Kentucky; the sister of Faye Deaton, Roy House and Ray House, all of London, Kentucky. She is also survived by four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mrs. House was a former employee of Marymount Medical Center in London, where she worked in the laundry department. She was a member of the Piney Grove Baptist Church in London.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, August 4, in the chapel of the House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Bro. Lonnie Marcum and Bro. Claude Maggard officiating.
Burial followed in the Ward Cemetery at London.

Elsie Watkins
Somerset, Kentucky
August 4, 2003
Elsie Watkins, 97, of Willow Drive, Somerset, Kentucky, died Monday, August 4, 2003, at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Somerset.
Born February 16, 1906, in Laurel County, Kentucky, she was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maggie (Mullins) Sherman and Steve Sherman; and husband, James Leo Watkins.
Survivors include her children, James Wilford Watkins and wife Ollie Pearl of Somerset, Kentucky, and Janet Lee Smith and husband Marvin of Los Gatos, California; a sister, Lillian Smith of Milford, Ohio; two grandchildren, Terry Lee Watkins and Patricia Gayle Cundiff; and two great-grandchildren, Brad Brown and Chad Brown.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ted Morgan officiating.
Burial will follow in the Rough Creek Cemetery in Laurel County.

Doyle Lawton Decker
Cambry, Indiana
October 1, 2003
Doyle Lawton Decker, 81, of Camby, Indiana, died Wednesday, October 1, 2003, at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Orpha Arthur Decker of Camby, Indiana.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday, October 5, at the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the Adkins Cemetery in Pulaski County.

James R. Dugger
London, Kentucky
October 3, 2003
James R. Dugger, 67, of Roy Dugger Road, London, Kentucky, died Friday, October 3, 2003, at the Marymount Medical Center in London.
Born April 18, 1936, in Laurel County, Kentucky, he was a diesel mechanic, a veteran of the United States Army, and member of the Masonic Lodge #204 in Sharonville, Ohio, and Scottish Rites.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Dugger.
Survivors include his mother, Opal (McCowan) Dugger of London, Kentucky; three step-sons, Jerry Lee Rhodes, Mike Rhodes and Sean Rhodes, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; a daughter, Teresa Whelpley of Charlotte, North Carolina; three brothers, Eddie Dugger and Emmitt Dugger, both of London, Kentucky, and Leroy Dugger of East Bernstadt, Kentucky; and three grandchildren, Austin Whelpley, Hannah Whelpley and Trey Whelpley, all of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, October 10, at the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Delmer Gross officiating.
Burial followed in the Dunn Cemetery at London.
