Sally Alford Lane, 88, of Lily, Kentucky, died Thursday, October 2, 2003, at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin, Kentucky. She was a daughter to the late Hettie (Partin) Lane and Daniel Alford.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Sunday, October 5, at the Corbin Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the McHargue Cemetery.

Roy A. Miller
East Bernstadt, Kentucky
September 30, 2003
Roy A. Miller, 70, of Bethel Hill Road, East Bernstadt, Kentucky, died Tuesday, September 30, 2003, at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin, Kentucky.
Born November 6, 1932, in Laurel County, Kentucky, he was a retired auto line worker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Della (Jones) Miller and Delbert Miller; two brothers, Ed Miller and Raymond Miller; and a sister, Bertha Miller.
Survivors include his children, Carol Sue Sollman of Sterling Heights, Michigan, Roy David Miller and Lisa Faye Woods, both of East Bernstadt, Kentucky, Raymond Lawrence Miller of London, Kentucky, and Lee Murray Miller of Beattyville, Kentucky; stepchildren Raymond Johnson, Joseph Johnson, Frances Johnson and Juanita Johnson; sisters Nora Miller and Reva Fultz, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; a special friend, Janice Collins of East Bernstadt, Kentucky; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 4, at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Altizer officiating.
Burial followed in the Pittsburg Cemetery.

Dallas W. Poe
London, Kentucky
October 3, 2003
Dallas W. Poe, 87, of Wilburn Street, London, Kentucky, died Friday, October 3, 2003, at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee S. Poe.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 5, at the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the Hinkle Cemetery at London.

Chester Shumate
Woodbine, Kentucky
October 3, 2003
Chester Shumate, 70, of Woodbine, Kentucky, died Friday, October 3, 2003, at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was a son to the late Annie (Cross) and Isom Shumate, and was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Shumate.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, October 6, at the Locust Grove Cemetery, with burial following, under the direction of the Corbin Funeral Home.

Nell Root Taylor
Lexington, Kentucky
October 3, 2003
Nell Root Taylor was born in Clay County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Marsh and Dora Brock Root.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Creed Taylor; three brothers, Brock Root, Woodrow Root and Kenneth Root; and two sisters, Gladys Philpot and Mattie Wilson.
She leaves to mourn her passing two sons, Harold Taylor and Donald Creech Taylor both of Lexington, Kentucky; one daughter, Norma Jean Stidman of Lexington, Kentucky; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
Nell Root Taylor passed away Friday, October 3, 2003, at her residence in Lexington. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, October 6, in the Chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home in London, with the Rev. Gene Greene and the Rev. Denvis Rush officiating.
Burial followed in the Providence Cemetery in the Bush Community.

Lennie F. Wilhoit
London, Kentucky
October 6, 2003
Lennie F. Wilhoit, 91, of Maplesville Road, London, Kentucky, died Monday, October 6, 2003, at the Laurel Heights Nursing Home.
Born January 7, 1912, in Laurel County, Kentucky, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth Jones and Marion Jones; her husband, John Wilhoit; and three children, Margaret Brown, Ronald Wilhoit and Joyce Hale.
Survivors include nine children, Nancy Brown of Louisville, Kentucky, Billie Evans, Don Wilhoit, Jan Bolinger, Lois Hale, Sue Reams, Johnny Wilhoit, Marilyn McVay, Kenneth Wilhoit and Eddie Wilhoit, all of London, Kentucky; 28 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow in the Wilhoit Cemetery at London.

Christy Ann Allen
London, Kentucky
February 1, 2004
Christy Ann Allen, 22, of Winners Circle, London, Kentucky, died Sunday, February 1, 2004, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center as the result of an auto accident.
Born February 14, 1981, in Madison County, Kentucky, she was a certified medical assistant at Cumberland Medical Center. She was graduated from North Laurel High School and Laurel Technical School with a certified medical assistant degree, and was a member of the Rock Springs Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Noarine Grubb, Dorothy Taylor and Neal Taylor.
Survivors include her parents, Freda Allen and Carson Allen, both of London, Kentucky; a brother, Jeremy Allen of London, Kentucky; and a grandfather, Manuel Grubb of London, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, at the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Vaughn and Ronnie Owens officiating.
Burial will follow in the Weaver Cemetery at London.
Pallbearers will be Nicholas Baker, Curtiss Grubb, Donald Hensley, Dustin Lawson, Robbie Ramsey Jr. and Jimmy Riley.

Harold Lee Baker
January 30, 2004
Harold Lee Baker, born March 23, 1933, in Laurel County, Kentucky, went to be with our Lord in Heaven on Friday, January 30, 2004.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Baker, on July 29, 2003; his parents, George and Florence Baker; and two brothers, James Baker and Claude “Gene” Baker.
He is survived by his children, Phillip Baker and wife Seresa, Paula (Baker) Durham and husband Anthany, Teresa (Baker) Hickman and husband Eddie, Kimberly (Baker) Skeen and husband Michael; his grandchildren, Angela Foley, Heather Dugger, Alyssa Baker, Kelly Durham, Brandon Durham, Brooke Durham, Brian Hickman, Steven Hickman, Bradley Hickman, Kara Skeen, Kaycee Skeen, Daniel Archer and wife Jennifer; his great-grandchildren, D.J. Archer, Michael Archer, Jacob Archer and Hannah Foley; his sisters, Dorothy Hensley (Corbin), Myrtle Singleton, Betty Marcum, Lois Baker, Nellie Swanner and Helen Smith, all of London; a host of brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and his church family at Sandstone Baptist Church in Corbin, Kentucky.
The funeral services was held on Sunday, February 2, at 3 p.m. at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home in London. Service was conducted by his nephew, Brother Charles Taylor, and his pastor, Brother Ivan Siler.
Pallbearers were Walter Adams, Floyd Brown, Bob Siler, Charlie Hopkins, Joey Nantz, Justin McIntyre, and Kenny Siler.
He was laid to rest at Hopewell Cemetery in Lily, Kentucky.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to their family and friends for the help, prayers and visits. Also special thanks to the physicians and staff members of Baptist Regional Medical Center, Rhonda Johnson and Teresa Myers of Professional Home Health, Dr. John Cronin of Lexington Clinic, the staff of Saint Joseph Hospital, Tri-County Hospice and the staff of House-Rawlings Funeral Home.
